RE: correct voltage for rx and ignition
5.5 is fine for the ignition. I used to run mine at 5.7 but I had my ignition converted and now I run Lithiumd direct with no regulator!
I would not recomend running your Rx at 6.6 dial it down to 6.00

Whos' ignition? If it's a CH unit, the closer you can get to 4.8 the less voltage wasted. I set mine to 5.1 since that's as low as I could get the regulator to go.
You can use a 6.1 to 6.2 volt setting for the receiver and not get into any trouble. That allows a bit for line and connector loss.

RE: correct voltage for rx and ignition
Pat I sent My CH in to CH Electronics and Had it Converted To lithium.
Now I run a 2 cell lithium pack directly to it without a regulator.
It works great as well as saves complexity and weight!
I think the cost was $25 I had them put me a new Plug lead on while they were at it

RE: correct voltage for rx and ignition
I'm not going to recommend my next statement, but many people have done this with no ill affects and on my next plane that is what I am going to do. As for the ignition's, follow what the manufacturer recommends.
Some people have been running li- direct with no reg. thru the rx and to the servo's. My next project will be just that, and I think I will run 5955tg's.
Oh by the way I ran (on the ground) my system this way in a different plane for a few minutes, WOW those servo's moved fast
