I have been deciding on a first 50cc plane and want to get a wild hare extra 300. People have told me that there is a big difference between extreme flight and wild hare and i just want a 3D plane. So, what it is?

Their price is $649.95, ours is $429. Based on the size and published specs I'd expect the EF Extra to be heavier, consider this when buying an engine. I see no need for a larger plane with a 50cc engine, ours flies great and the light weight is perfect for a DA-50.
Beyond these details I don't see a big difference in the planes.
Oh, and we have some blue/yellow/white planes at $379 too.
I have wondered why there is so much traffic in the giant scale aerobatic RCU forum on EF. I can't find an EF support forum, I suppose that all their posts must go in the general column.
Finally it appears that EF is very much into electric planes and accessories, I feel that with giant scale it requires all my time to properly support the products so I have not branched out into other fields.

Don't know about EF, but I have been flying a Wild Hare Extra 300 for two seasons and is about as good as it gets. I have found no weak points to the plane at all. Flys much better than my 30% Carden Cap 230 which just sits around now. Don't think you can go wrong with the plane especially at the Price.

I've flown and handled both makes, with most of the W/H planes in similar sizes. In the long run the difference is price. W/H does not make a large Yak (thank God), so the difference ends there.
At least one EF Yak flier wishes his plane would turn/pivot as well as a W/H. Tom's designs work, and wing designs with W/H is superior to most others.

Cool, i wasnt wanting an extreme flight, its just that i would like to get an idea how the Wild hare planes were going to fly, I'v just been told that there is no comparison of how the two planes fly. My friend has a wild hare Edge 540t v2 and I figured that if I got one that he could help me out. By the way, My friend says he knows someone from wild hare personaly his name is Mark Summerfield.

I have the WH Edge V1 and the Ultimate Biplane. The edge is on its 4th season with a DA50. It is like an old friend now. I know what it will do with any control I give it. It will fly docile or crazy. Piece of cake to land. STILL gets good reviews at the flying field. As I understand it, the V2 flies even better. I just haven't been able to kill the V1!!!!!!!!
Customer support with Tom at WH is second to none. You will have a smile from ear to ear when you open the box on your WH plane and an even bigger one when you fly it.
Go for it!!!

The biggest difference is the price and the size. Both EF and WH are absolutely top-quality airplanes, easily the best in the business.
The EF planes for their higher prices include a very nice hardware kit with carbon wing and stab tubes and wing bags. It is also so large that not many 50cc planes can really handle it.
The WH planes require a hardware kit, which is about $75 more (IIRC). Or you can supply your own.
If I had one I would use an 80cc engine (weighs the same as a 50cc + cannister). The fuse on the EF Yak and Extra is roughly the same size as the 80cc Hangar 9 planes.
The WH planes will certainly tumble better due to the relatively shorter fuse, and they float better because they weigh less on about the same wing area. Both are very good at IMAC-type flying.
Both companies are very good at customer service and try very hard to keep their customers happy. Tom takes the next step and actually sponsors his own forum here on RCU and posts many times daily.

Right now i am working on a Giant super sportster. I really wish that i wouldnt have gotten the thing[:@]. i know that it will be really boring to fly. i got an EVO 35Gt and it took so many modifications to put it on. This plane has crappy hardware and this is probably more expensive than a wild hare with a DL50,[:@] which is what i plan to get next.

Bretd123, in the end just pick the one that looks best to you. You really can't go wrong either way.

I have the 50cc V2 Extra and my buddy has the 50CC EF Extra. Other than the points already mentioned as far as kit components and cost - they fly very similar in nature. I have been hucking my Extra around and it is a confidence inspiring plane, I flew my buddies plane and they felt very similar - almost the same actually. We are very close as far as weight and he has the ES Composites pipe where I have the MTW-75K can (both on DA50). He'll have more power on the pipe than my can but it will require some tuning to keep it from being peaky. The Either way you go - you will be pleased and they both are great!
