MX2
I just ordered the MX2 on Friday, and I am pretty excited. If you don't know much about the plane, check out the full-scale. Quite an amazing aircraft.

Please post pictures and info on your build. This is a neat looking plane and I'm planning on ordering it shortly with the DLE-55 engine. I'm interested in hearing your experiences, especially when you get it airborne. I will order it in the red/yellow scheme with the Breitling package. What is your scheme and power?
Thanks,
Capt Lou

RE: MX2
I ordered it in the same package that you are wanting with the same engine, with the Wild Hare can kit. (and bunny stickers of course)
I have Hitec 7955's going on all surfaces (overkill I know). I also bought the Wild Hare A123 battery and charger kit.
I'll be flying it with the Aurora 9 if I can ever get one (back-ordered on Tower)
I will post pics and build info as I go. Although I've been flying for a long time, this will be my first gasser, so I won't have much to compare it to.
At the very least I guess you'll be able to decide how "noob friendly" the kit is.
Having said that, I'm a fairly decent 3D pilot with several glow planes ranging from .40 to 1.20 size, and have been flying the G5 sim religiously with the larger planes, so I should be able to give a decent flight report...

This will be my third 50cc gas. I have a Wildhare Extra 300, powered by a DA-50R with JR 8611a's on the control surfaces and I also have an Extreme Flight YAK 54 also with DA-50R and 8611a's. You'll love the gas plane especially if you do 3D. Once you fly the MX2 you will not want to go back to glow power. While the cost of a gas plane is high, you'll realize a lot of cost savings in fuel. I estimate that in the two years I have been flying gas planes that I have saved about $800-900 in fuel comparing glow fuel cost to gas. A gallon of gasoline costs one-tenth the price of premium glow and lasts a lot longer. I also use A123 batteries and they are great for this application. I have two 2300 mah A123 packs for the RX/servos and one for the ignition. I get a lot of flight time out of them and they recharge in ten minutes. If you want to read about these batteries go to www.hangtimes.com and you will get a lot of useful information.

RE: MX2
Capt Lou,
I considered the EF yak because I liked the flight characteristics on the sim(but not a huge fan of round cowls). Actually, I considered quite a few planes for several months - and did a ton of research... but we all know that you don't really know much until you actually go through the process yourself. I eventually selected WH because of the great support, Tom seemed like a stand-up guy, and you can't beat the looks of the yellow/red MX2 imo. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions, and I look forward to your advice when I get started on the airframe - which will likely be the 2nd week of March if all things go well.
I think what really sent me over the edge on glow was my saito 1.50 fun-fly. Sure, it's a great plane, but I go through a gallon of 30% heli in no-time! That and my wife gets made when I forget to bring paper towels and windex to the field since I usually transport in her expedition
Guess it's time for a shell on the F-150... hmm, wonder if it would fit under a tonneu cover...

PWRDrill:
I know how you feel. I looked at the Suhkoi, Edge, and a few other planes for over a month and finally came back to the WH MX2. The Suhkoi is similar to the YAK I already have and the Edge is similar to my WH Extra. The MX2 was slightly different. Also, while my Extreme Flight is a nice and well built plane, it is pricey and I don't think the extra cost was worth it. I have been pleased with WH Extra and, you are correct, Tom gives good support.
My glow planes are Saito 100's and I ran them on Powermaster 20/20. These are great engines but as I mentioned to you, I have saved substantially on fuel cost and you will see what I mean when you go gas.
One tip I will give you in advance is to use a servo on the DLE -55 choke as oppsed to manual operation. It is easier to set it up that way in the initial build and you will appreciate it once you begin to fly.

RE: MX2
Sorry Tom,
I should have posted this thread in the general 3D section. Wonder if we can move it?
The plan is to use a choke servo Capt Lou. I did alot of research on that one too... seems it's a mixed bag, but it will function as my kill

RE: MX2
Tom,
Could you throw some pics on how you installed your servos in the fuse? I'm going with basically the same setup as you, and I would love to see how you did it.
Thanks!
edit: particularly the throttle/choke

I know Tom does this different with the DLE 55, he uses the CNC plywood throttle/choke tray he includes as an add on accessory.
Here is how I did mine on the 3W 50I with servo boxes.
