RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
Hi Guys I have been following this thread with interest has anyone got any thoughts about fitting an MVVS 58 I dont know mutch about how the engine performs only that its about the same weight as a 3WW 55 but with around 1.5 hp more power.
Without getting into the cheap vs. quality debate is the extra power an asset. Has anyone had any issues with an MVVS. Thanks John. |
RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
Now don,t get my buddy going on MVVS heheheheheh GREG anyhow they are great motors I love the 26cc they put out anyhow the 58 MVVS would be a beast and probably pull the wings off LOL you should have no problem with any power whatsoever. As far as issues none that any other engine has not had very good engines !!!!

Thanks for the fast response Roboto65 its helped me make my mind up on the engine choice.
Now what about a new radio hmmmm. John. |

RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
I recon that a new Jiles with 100cc twin could be worth a smack round the back of the head.
The only way to purchace a DL in the UK seems to be through E Bay with no back up.although Probuild are testing the 3mm but do not stock at the moment. I too use the Futaba 9c at the moment but the JR 9x2 2.4 looks promising! John. |

ORIGINAL: J.Richards29 Thanks for the fast response Roboto65 its helped me make my mind up on the engine choice. Now what about a new radio hmmmm. John. The AR9100, FYI, is the new one for big planes with the heavy duty power inputs, integrated soft switch and 3 satellite receivers. TF |
RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
I fly a couple Wild Hare birds with MVVS 43cc engines, the Extra (16.25 lbs) on a wrap around pitts, and one on an 16 3/4 lb 84" Yak (Prototype that turned into the Sukhoi) with a Canister setup, and have had NO Problems!
The canister setup is worth every penny!!!!!!! Turning a NX 22 prop @ 7400 (warm). I am sure the 58 would be MORE than enough, especially if you put a canister on it! Would be awesome power!!! |
RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
Thanks for the conformation on engine choice Greg it just seemed the one to go for as there is no significant weight disadvantage.
In reply to rc Tom that is a great offer unfortunatley the 2.4 transmitters you use in the States are not leagle in the UK as it has double the power. You guys pay in $s what we pay in £s (half). remind your wife of that next time you order another Wild Hare bird roboto65. John. |
RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
Sorry I didn't notice you were in the UK.

RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I am trying to use the search box in the bottom right hand corner, to search for the discussion in this thread about switches and battery types. No matter what my search words are, it tells me that the words are not found. I hate to rehash the receiver setup debate when it is already here somewhere. I have seen Tom talk about using the Woverine swtich and a single heavy duty switch with two inputs to the receiver. Very confused at this point.[:@]

RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
Hi am just Lovng this plane, just back home for a quick lunch then back to the field, its onlty 4 ks away. Can anyone tell me why my plane at the end of a loop rolls out to the left slightly, how would I fix that. And why are the ailerons slightly trimmed up/down, not level only just a smiggen, is it to do with the lateral balance??? and how do you measure this and correct. Oh well just another 100 questions!!!! thanks in advance. Oh beauty must go must fly???
Lee My DA 50 has heaps of go!! |
RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
Hey John from the UK. Go the 2.4 much better??!!:D
Lee |
RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
Lateral balance to check this you have you and a friend one picks the nose up and the other pick the tail up under the rudder and one under the nose cone and if one wing tips that is the heavy side. You can fix by adding weight to the wing tip..

RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
Mine did the same thing, I forgot to laterally balance it in the rush to get it in the air. It did that same thing as you are experiencing and it needed 1.25oz to correct the lateral balance. Much improved.

RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
Anybody know what size the tubes are for the pushrods? The tube that fits over the 4-40 threaded rod?

RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
I am pretty sure it is 3/16ths but being where you are I would say about 5mm is what would work..
|
RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
3/16" is correct!

RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
I'm the guy that used the Wolverine switch. The only thing the Wolverine switch has to offer is redundant battery connection and two switches. If you want two batteries and two switches then the wolverine switch is what you would want.
I'm running two 2600 ma A123 batteries in my Wild Hare Sukhoi. I only did this because at the time there wasn't a lot of people using the A123 Technology nad I wanted a backup battery. On my next Wild Hare Extra I will be running one A123 pack but I will definatly use Fromeco's new Kodiak switch. Jim |
RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
Jim, I am currently trying to wrap up my Suhkoi. I have a Wolverine switch installed also. This was purchased well before the new Kodiak's came available. I was hoping to use a A123 battery for both, the rec and ign. Do you know if this would be possible with the one Wolverine switch? Using the 2 outputs from the battery to the switch and then 1 output from the switch to the receiver and the other to the ignition. Or my option "B" is to install a Badger switch for ignition and just use the Wolverine for the receiver. Opinions?
Thanks |
