I have a YS .63 that has never ran right since the day I bought it (the one with the regulator mounted on the push rods). It's been in storrage for about 1 1/2 years and I want to give it another try. The things I remember about it was that it's not getting top RPM (compaired to my other .63 with the built in regulator) and transition is slower. The low end needle is backed out so the head actually sticks out of the carb, just to get it to run. I want to start fresh with the retry so my questions are.
1) What are the factory needle settings?
2) How do I know if the check valve is working correctly?
3) How do I know if the regulator is doing it's job?
4) How do I know if the diaphram is still OK?
I'm using Wildcat 20/02 blend with a 12-6 APC and an OS letter F plug.
Thanks, David

What you really should do is send it in with a letter explaining that the engine has sat for a long period of time. Tell service that you never could get it right and finally gave up trying.
I suspect that it may have some issues that you cannot fix with any of the adjustments.
1. 1.5 to 2 turns open on the idle airbleed, 2 turns open on the HS needle. Should be very rich on the HS with this setting.
2. Blow through with your mouth, then turn it around and try blowing through it the other direction. You should only be able to blow through one direction.
3. If it flows fuel to the carb and the carb doesn't leak fuel when the tank is pressurized and the engine is stopped, it should be OK.
4. Same as #3

They have been closed while they moved to a new location. Try giving them a call next week at 775-267-9252
It's doubtful that they will call or e-mail. You'll need to get with them.
