One of the reasons i made so many changes during building, plenty things are little nostalgic on the original design from Dave Patric (worked for Goldberg at that time). The ARF was different in many ways already and i harvested some ideas from other Airframes i build. made it easier for me to work on them. The original design is a different Airplane every time you disassemble and reassemble the Plane unless you have dowels or guides holding the Wing where it is supposed to be. You can see in my last picture a little seam at the Tail by the Elevators, i made the incedence adjustable just as well, made all the things i did not like better.
Have a build the

One last comment, I design and build lot of planes, all the way from little trainers to my 103 inch Herc, wing incidences are so important and all my planes are built in jigs and set up with incidence meters, without them how can you set up the Ultimate with + 1 1/4 on the tail plane a 0 on the main, Mike

That will be great, we are thinking on making a kit, taking in mind all those mods. that people has been doing on it, so it will not be an original blueprint copy, but we will save the flying characteristics and focus on keeping light.
The main idea is to have a backup scheme of every single part of the kit, then in a bad case of an unwanted crash, we all can remake the broken parts and keep a strong brotherhood.
Please note that, at the end, we will share the drawings as a backup and we wont make any profit from them.
Please stay tuned, I am sure that good news are coming along.

Alfred
OK, staying tuned

Has anyone flown this bird with an OS 110 alpha?

I added a Canopy hatch, easyer to acces Radio geaer, some more pics, one is 90 finnised state, now DLE 20 waiting for new Cowling
was flown and finished 6 month ago with saito 125
Adding a canopy hatch is a great idea. Highly recommended. Makes getting to raidio gear a breeze and also pretty much solves the CG balance issues with the larger heavier engines being installed in this bird.

That is a great idea to take note for the new drawings, just like I imagined, everybody at a time have had to make a good innovation on this bipe.
Neat and explicit picture by the way.
Thanks Bigal

Alfred, you are right! Good news is in the air! I bartered plans for hard copies of all the parts which will speed this up thanks to frequent flyer! I will have them scanned and out to you sometime tomorrow in PDF format. I've compared the copies against our copy of the plans and they are a 100% match. Let me know if converting them to TIF or other format would help.

pdf and jpg would be more than fine.

I am compensating with dual servo elevator, an 8 oz tank, IBE and going to install the battery last to play with final CG. I might have to go push-pull rudder. Not quite that far yet. I'm considering a few mods now with the cabanes.

I'd be in line to try out some foam cores!

Alfred, if you/we went with foam core wings they would be lightened and fully sheeted and ready to install servo wiring and join the wings together. And outter wing strut ribs would already be installed.
To keep notes:
How do you make the outer wing strut ribs, with out cutting the foam?
I believe that we need to insert in first the wing strut attachments, then apply a coat of balsa sheeting with the right dimensions to have all square up. isn't it?

Feed please, we all are following the thread with the same goal.

Bolt thru Wing in Strut, 440 good enough, works on mine after i made the changes during building and in a Foam Wing a 3/8 Cherry wood dowel drilled after sheeting lets the Allen head almost disapear flush with the covering. Since the wing is differen, different struts dont matter.

Its really simple! I make a lite plywood rib just like the build up wings have and epoxy them into the foam core before I sheet them. and you have to cut the foam core in half or you can cut out a slot for the rib. I also add rocket tubes to the cores before sheeting as well. So when the customer gets the wing kit all he has to do is run his servo leads/install servos the servo doors (already made), join the wings together/glass the center (just like on the kit) and hinge the ailerons, and sand for covering.

I am recovering a CG Ultimate that I purchased and will be changing the cowl. I purchased a new cowl from Fiberglass Specialities. What suggestions do you have for mounting the cowl to the fusalage?
What I have done with success is use 6-32 machine screws with blind nuts. I used rubber grommets in between the screws and the cowl, and the cowl and the airframe effectively "sandwiching" the cowl. This is an area of heavy vibration and since it's only fiberglass you can't really go monster tight on the screws. A little blue loctite on the threads when I 'm happy with everything and plan on leaving the cowl on for a while

Please check your your inboxes and let me know if you got goodies from santa....

So to update the brother hood....  Alfred now has plans for the kit, manual, and most of the formers (minus fuse side, top, bottom, and turtle deck). I think the ball is now in his court to digitize any upgrades into the back up plan....

let me know how things turn out!

I have not received any new files yet, either so I am drawing over the scanned page that you sent initially.
I'll keep an eye on my inbox.

Thanks Warbird!

I got a Top Flite Spitfire MK IX Wulf Hunter Gold edition 1/7 scale.... this completes my Top Flite war bird collection I wanted....  Spitfire, P-40, P-47D, P-51B, F4U.... and the odd ball DC-3....   I need to double up on the kits just in case I get dumb thumb syndrome....

Guess my other hobby is collecting kits since a lot of them are out of production...

And my prize gems are the 2 CG Ultimates I got...  one of which is being built and traced for Alfredbmore's backup project we're working on...

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!

WarBird, that is a really good site.  The other details I'm looging for are the panel and rivet lines...  As far as the paint scheme, that's still to be determined, but I do like those shark teeth....

Off topic, but I was wondering if you would know where one can find examles, kits, plans of rc planes for either the YAK-3 or the MIG-3?  They have very similiar lines to the hawker and P-51B.... not the same but kind of flow like that...
