RE: Lightning Build
Cool thanks!
Half time right now. I must be the official Beaver Southern California fan. Am I bad when I see a big O on the back of a car I have to pull in front of it so they can see my orange beaver sticker?

RE: Lightning Build
I'm working on the FIN - and have a few quick questions.
The rib diagrams include FN-1 , but FN-1 doesn't show up in the plans, and I didn't see it in your picture of your fin build.
I suspect this part is no longer needed, correct?
Thanks,

RE: Lightning Build
Thank you! It is really fun to build that great aircraft. As you have seen i had already wings and elevator unit from the Xaros a plane witch is build from a friend of mine. So i had to change the wing tubes. Also a T-canard is planed. But i wonder how you finisched your fuselage with 581g!! How light where your balsa sheets?
So thank you Jeff for having the oportinity to share your plans with us!

RE: Lightning Build
Panzi,
The key to minimizing weight in the the fuselage was mostly due to balsa wood selection. I ordered 25% more wood than I needed so I could select only the lightest. The difference between the lightest sheets and the heaviest sheets for the fuselage sides was about 60 g. I adds up quickly. If I recall correctly, my 36 inch by 4 inch by 1/8 sheets were between 19 and 21 grams.
Good luck with the build.
Jeff

RE: Lightning Build
Looks great Hans! Getting ready to start mine soon. Already have the foam core for the wings. I was going to change the colors because they have already been done but I really like that color scheme!
A beaver would look good on the tail though

Hey Jeff,
Where did you get your carbon fiber sheets? From here?
http://www.cstsales.com/uni_carbon_fabric.html
web binding, net binding? Does it matter?
Thanks,
Robert
