Mine flys great with this 40GT. Was always a ballooning joke to land before. Comes in nice and slow now and stays put.
New engine is breaking in nicely. Superstar flys good . Quick roll rate and a solid elevator without any snap. Has the control surface area to 3/D but again the wing area promotes some rock while in a hover. But if I can hold it there for 30secs or more anybody could.
$99.00 !! Sounds like a bargin to me. Nice hardware package too. I payed full price $259.00 for mine in Feb 2006.

Scott , I finally got the eagle out yesterday with the new carb on it. I put three flights on it and it performed awesome. I was going vertical at about half throttle with smoke on and as it stopped climbing I went to full throttle. it hung there in the smoke a lot longer than I thought it would! You couldn't even see the plane. What a great day with perfect blue sky. Thanks again for your help on my interference problems. Rick

With Scott's permission, I sent the master logo file to a vinyl cutter of some reputation....mine are on their way, and as soon as I have them applied, I'll do some good pics.... mine are "wing sized", and in different colors to work on the wings they are going on, plus there is a variety of "nose sized" coming.

They aren't free, but worth the $$... I'll post links and info when I have the "show off" stuff.

Bob,

I agree with you 100% with everything you have said on your web page about Scoot & mark at Brillelli. I am going to be building a GP Giant aeromaster and I needed a pitts style muffler and 3" stand-off's for my 40GT. Scott told me he could make the muffler for me and he already had the stand-offs in stock. The customer support you get from these guys is the best I have every seen in a company. I know they'll be in business for a long time.

I think you may have just given Scott a great new nickname! Scott "Scoot" (as in go fast) Ellingson... has a nice ring to it [8D]

Sorry about that. I hope Scott is not to mad about it, but "Scoot Ellingson" does sound nice for a guy who knows his engines.

I have to chime in for Brillelli's customer service. I have a 40GT that wasn't running right after the first half dozen flights. After a couple emails and a quick phone call to Scott, he determined that something must have gone wrong with the carb. He had a new one in the mail that same day.

I agree with you 100% about Brielli's customer service. I have 4 Brillelli engines and each one is a great running engine. Right now I am building a GP Giant Aeromaster that I plan on using my Brillelli 40GT on. The fuselage is long and narrow and you cannot get you hands down install the fuselage to mount any bolts for your engine so GP has already mounted 8x32 blinds nuts for you to attach to. These blind nuts are already set for a Fuji 43/ei engine but won't work for a Brillelli 40GT. I have talked to Scott about this and he is going to make a back plate for me to mount to the blind nuts and then mount the 40GT engine to that. Where else can you get custom made parts for your application from. No were that I know.

Let me know how that works out with the Aeromaster. I've been contemplating the same setup for my next plane. Although, I have a Giant Sportster with a 40GT on it and I'm going to have to cut up the cowl pretty good to get it to fit around the 40. The fuselages of these two planes are somewhat similar and I'm curious how it'll work out on the Aeromaster with the radial cowl.

Drksky,

I plane on starting a build post in the ARf section on this plane and engine combo. I also looked at the Giant Super Sportster and desided to go with the Giant Aeromaster because I thought the 40GT would fit better inside a round cowl better than a narrow one. Scott is making me a pitts style muffler, longer stand-off's and a back plate to make the installation on the engine easier. The bolt pattern on the fuselage is set for a Fuji 43/ei. brillelli's back plate well bolt to the and the 40GT will bolt to the back plate. cannot get much easier than that. The plane needs to extra weight up front because it builds tail heavy.

With the Fuij/ EI still needed tail weight - (3oz) this is most definately NOT built tail heavy. See RCReport review as well - aslo needed tail weight.

I have talked to people here on RC Universe about the GP Giant Aeromaster and most are saying to install a G45 or G62 in the plane. It is not for the power they give, but the plane balances very easy with one of these heavy engines up front. The Brillelli 40GT weigh's in at 3lbs 3oz so the extra weight up front well be needed.

The Sportster was the same way. I think if I'd used the magneto Fuji 32 GP recommends, I wouldn't have needed any weight up front. But with the 40GT, I practically had to cover the recess behind the firewall with lead.

Maybe - but a Brillelli 40GT probably is easier starting and more powerful than a Fuji 32....based on my experience with the Fuji 54, anyway.

Aerobob, I've been thinking about putting the 46 GT in my 77" Goldberg Yak. What do you think? I know that you Had the 2.4 Brison in yours but I fly at 4700 feet and am thinking that I will need the extra umph. And it will not cost me as much for that extra power.

For the MINIMAL weight difference (particularly with new mufflers Scott is working on) the 46 would be my choice, hands down. I would get the Synchro version, just to smooth up the low end, but probably not really necessary. That CG Yak was plenty beefy to hold up.

Probably with your altitude, the 46 would give you just the right amount of extra power to make it a LOT of fun.

If I were doing another, I'd hang the 46 on there, no doubt.
