But no .. sorry to say but the checker board is not hand cut.. that is Hk covering.. All the other parts of the covering are cut on a modified vinyl cutter . No supplied decals in the kit where used.. So if anyone wants a set of orginal decals unused.. shoot me a message.. the Kadet on the rudder had the font changed and the size increase. same with the Lt-40 in red.

I love it. has all the same characteristics as the H9 stuff works in the same temp range and can be mixed with the H9 stuff with no problem.. and the best thing it is about an inch wider and when you buy a roll for 9 bucks plus shipping you get 15 feet , not the 3 feet from H9 at their prices. And if you buy say 4 rolls of the same colour.. it comes as one piece.. so if you order 4 rolls of white.. you will get a roll 60 feet long !!! now does that blow your mind or what...

And except for the carbon fibre part of my Lt the rest of the covering is Hk.. here is a couple of pics of another bird I did.. the silver is H9 but everything else is HK..

Now please don't hammer me for posting a pic of a none Kadet bird .. but the man did ask a question and I am trying to answer the best I can..

Not a problem for me - I always enjoy seeing outstanding workmanship, even if I'm totally incapable of getting anywhere close.

She's very similar to a Kadet or the CG Eagle-II. What is it?

Thank you for your kind words.. but my out look on things.. If I can do it then anyone can.. nobody is incapable of doing the same as me.. they only lack the knowledge. and that can be learned.. 6 years ago or maybe 7 now.. with my first model.. did some minor damage to the wing.. I thought it was the end of my hobby.. I managed to fix it... but then the covering.. man oh man I could not get it.. I was ready to smash that plane to sawdust.. then after I calmed down and had a couple of beer I took a different approach to it.. and success ... the learning curve started.. Now !! I snap a wing in half ... and go oh crap that is going to be a couple of days in the shop..

she is a Hobbico 60 ARF and after a mishap with a chunk of crap in the long grass and another with a tree and then an inverted nose dive into the ground after I lost her in the sun and hmmm oh yea a chance incounter with a hydro wire... the pic is of the stock version as I had purchased it.. the only parts left from the orginal model are the tail feathers.. so after two scratch built wings and one replacement fuse that is how she looks today

One of the tricks to doing nice covering is a glass table top. In the down stairs shop or as I call it the R&D department.. I have a large glass workbench for layout.. the upstairs shop is the final assembly and flight ready room.. I have included a couple of pics of the layout of the bottom wing panel of the LT..

kadet JR, Seniorita, mkII, LT-40, MKI on the scratching board. Can i have #200? My instructor told me to keep my trainer , this was 1999 and the LT is being refurbished/modified for windows,tail wheel, bolt on wing,radiused nose formers for a mkII cowl, instrument panel. Covering in transparent violet ultra cote and trimmed out with green apple, white pin stripping and revolver landing gear/pants. Thanks for all the inspiration on here guys, I have read as much as I can find.Rebuilt the old blue LA 40 for the MK I, and a ggt10 OR Eflite 46 for the LT SPORT E 40 as it is now called. I am also learning how to navigate this site, and will post photos.

WOO HOO!! Thanks Skylark-flier. Here are the photos of some progress. 1/64th Sheeting on 3/32nd balsa. This is the original arf from 1999 purchased in 2000. It has been sitting for 16 years or so.

Check the pic at post 2979 of my hobbico.. probably very close to the same colour your planning on using.. and it does look sharp on the ground..

I was just in the middle of this post .. oppss .. she is going to look great.. I loved the colour on my hobbico.. until her first flight.. very hard colour to see in the air.. mine was done with silver.. the green goes nice with that colour and might help.. my hobbico just turned into a black dot..

Just a little marking out and routed with a sanding drum, sand paper on brass tubing and a wood file. All the holes were cut , it came fully sheeted with 3/32nd. spruce was used in the cabin area, and will get more braces. I was told to stay away from silver as it disappears. Thanks for the feedback on hk covering , Iwill give it a go,

almost went for the fg11, but I was reminded of some issues with a dle20ra in a kmp husky. The dle is a champ!!, and I hope the ggt10 will be one as well it is still boxed.Thanks for the kind words of encouragement,

Not sure the FG-11 will fit.. I didn't look that close at the length of the engine to fit due to the price of it up here in Canada.. but any of the other rear carbed engines I looked at would put the prop hub way to far out in front of the fuse.. The fg-11 might fight since it has a smaller carb but check the measurements before committing.. The evolution was the only front mounted carb with the right length to fit.. and since we are going gas with and ignition I stayed away from the older version with muffler pressure and choose the pumped version..

Which BTW I fixed my random servo movement on the throttle by swapping out the analog servo for a digital.. she has now passed her bench testing and engine run tests.. and is currently parked in her hanger awaiting the maiden..

It is a near exact match to the OS 52 that is in it now. It is based on the smaller Saito FA-62 case, which has nearly the same dimensions as the OS 52. I matched them up side by side and would have no issues putting one in the LT-40. It would just require a semi rebuild since I would need to move things around inside to make it work. As it sits now there is zero dead weight in it. I started with some nose weight, which all fell off over time, and it flies just beautifully as it is.
