I have to admit, I made a mistake last night that I cam paying for today. I didn't wear a mask while sanding my center section, and paying for it today. My smeller is all messed up, nothing smells or tastes right.

My best buddy from High School worked on a new construction painting crew, they use to tease the foreman about spending all his time hidden in a closet with a brush full of lacquer singing! He complained a lot about the fumes from the lacquer they used on cabinet work the whole time he did that work. The advantage of the lacquer was the quick drying time so they stuck with it.

I sprayed lacquer without a mask once....once. Took forever to unstick my nostrils.

I read once that balsa dust is slightly poisonous, or at least can cause allergic reactions. I think a lot of other woods are also, especially tropical woods. Get well soon.

Ebony is deadly like asbestos, that is one wood you must wear protection for. I wasn't sanding balsa, spruce and birch were the woods, and the spruce is what has my sinuses being funky. All I can smell is spruce.

I worked with a guy once, and he disappeared around noon and found him a hour later in a closet with the door closed staring at the wall with his back to the door. Ask what he was doing and he said he just needed some along time. Yea he didn't last long.

Welcome Jayyak. First post.
I just converted a 40 size Sig Kadet to E-Power for a club trainer. We had a temperature break at 40 degrees here on the MA coast. Spring thaw I guess. I flew the plane beautifully and took my 72 receiver out. Handed over to my club rep. to be upgraded to 2.4mhz. for the club transmitters. This plane flew nice on 4S 3200mah lipo. Could not break an egg landing. Back to winter now. Got a squeeker in

Hi everyone, I just started on one of these for my sons first plane and i will be building myself one as well. Back in the day when I first started I remember seeing kadet with wing bolt mod does anyone have pictures of the best way to do it? Thanks

Also are you building a kit or an ARF?

this is what i did and i got the idea from the new senior Rita ARF. i made a new balkhead that extends up above the fuss. Were the wing filet would be. Then drilled through the bulkhead into the wing and put in dowl's. reinforcing the leading edge for the dowls. Then put a peace of ply across the back of the fuss for the bolts then Reinforce the trailing edge of the wing for the wing bolts so that's pretty much it. Thats the great part about building from a kit you get plans to copy and change parts. i hope this helps.
By the way this is captcrunch jr's plane she built. i just helped change a couple of things.

one year later my Kadet is still on air, I have added Robart cub 1/5 landing gear, wings are bolt like Tom's ones and sorry no paint scheme

Great video and a rather nice runway. Could use something like that around here but, being the only flyer (of any kind) in this area, that's not about to happen any time soon.

I agree!!! Nice Video, you have done what I have on the list to do. So the preview of what yours can accomplish with those nice big flaps gets my juices going to start on my concept.

I have some previous experience with making a Kadet STOL (so I will shamelessly insert video here) and i want to take what I learned using the LT and apply it to a Senior.
