Yeah, most probably are having that problem - I know that I am, goes days and days and then DUMPS a pagefull. Also, have to sign in every time I come on. There's lots of problems here these days. Also, lots of threads talking about them.

RE: kites - geez, Idunno, but I'd guess it's the same thinking (or whatever government does to come up with their hairbrained schemes).

Same here . . . no problem with email notifications.

It may help anyone with the problem to revise the profile settings.

It appears however that the site response is very slow compared to other sites.

I had a CRRC 40 gasser in my 4star 120 Arf and it was adequate. The lump may have been heavy, but what I was reading was that these planes needed nose weight anyway, and it balanced just right.
Unfortunately, it met it's demise when i was flying on low rates, thinking I was on high rates and the ground was a few feet too high. Then I was extra upset when I found out they are no longer making the Arf's.

PS. I'm suppose to get email updates of new posts on my RCU subscriptions, but sometimes it goes for a couple weeks with nothing, and then I need to catch up a few pages of reading. Anyone else have this problem?
I had the ARF, until the wing decided to go its own way. The kit actually builds fast, and with a little modification can be much better than the ARF while incorporating some of the ARF enhancements.

No problem, here.

I think it's just that RCU doesn't like you.

I want in, I have a Something Extra that's almost finished and have built and covered one for another guy, use SIG balsa in my scratch builds and Sig-Ment on all my planes. A Hog is next on my list, and one day OH YES I will own a Space Walker.

A Spacewalker is a great model to have on your "must have" list ! They're great kits and fly great, too !

Yea, I've seen a few kit built 120's at our field, that I liked. It's a thought.

Oh yeah got to love those earthquakes they are fun! Fortunately I have only felt a couple of them here they are staying north and east of me for now. Still it didn't stop me from adding a little earthquake coverage just in case. House is paid off late next year and I don't want to have to start over.

I occasionally see notifications disappear but its very intermittent, you aren't alone. It may have something to do with how often you post a reply. That's my theory any way.

Rekitted the ARF?! At least it looks rebuildable and I'm sure you can improve the build quality while you are at it!

Thats my plan at least. Going to bash it into something else, shorten the fuse, double the ailerons and tail and put a big motor on it. Make it into a 3D 4Star.

The tail is 100%, and most of the wing is still good. The spars are actually still good enough to make the wing strong. Will make for an interesting project.

Thanks a lot!!

going to look for those threads before even thinking on opening the box, i am still deciding on which engine to put in the front of this baby, i was thinking on something not so overpowered like a DLE 20
The DLE 20 would fly it, just barely. You want to swing at least a 16x10, 17x10. IMO. 18 inch you have little prop clearance. Gassers don't generally get the rpm of glow so higher pitch is needed. However the kit may build lighter than the ARF. My ARF was at 14 lb.

Hey Merto, I love it! I had a '65 bug that got me through college. Those things are sure holding their value.
You did say a 4star 120 right? Evidently the kit doesn't have instructions for a two piece wing. On my 120 ARF with two piece wing, after a summer of flying the wing was starting to split around the wing joiner and center ribs were cracking. So, I turned it into a one-piece wing and reinforced the center with fiberglass. At the same time I shortened it one bay on each end so that it would fit in the 72 inch bed of my truck. Went from about 80" to 70", and the roll rate was twice as fast, but otherwise flew fine. I'm thinking you will have more trouble getting the Fuse in there, unless you make the tail removable.

good point there didnt tought of the fuse yet; I had a joss stik(cheaper version of the big stick) and i actually had a hard time getting it inside and it was quite smaller than the 4*120

now i am thinking of sticking the fuselage on the roof of the bug and wings inside

I want in on the list. If you haven't owned a 4 star, there's something wrong with you.Everyone should have to build a Sig kit before advancing from a trainer.

I have had all these Sig's
4 star 120,60,40 (kits and ARF's) Something extra, space walker, fazer and sealane.

I have built an Astro Hog, 4 star 40 , Kadet Lt 40 and a King Kobra. The King Kobra is my all time favorite!
