LOL, so lazy, digital read out... ha!
Purists would have me reading the ol'e scale, but I can't say that I care about the actual measurement... I'm using it to compare two lengths.

In that case, it's easier to set and forget with the digi
hunter, where'd you get that? i was thinking the other day how nice it would be to have one of those when i was measuring the diameter of the Brat's steering rods.
Harbor Freight Tool. I think you can get the same deals on ebay though, if you don't have one around here.
actually there is a harbor freight nearby me, not far from the LHS in fact. thanks, i'll probably pick one up this week! how much was it btw?

Hard to believe that there's enough gap on the servo case to get in that much water!! [X(]

ORIGINAL: mechanizeddeath

actually it does, there's nothing wrong with it besides cosmetics, and once i replace the case it will look brand new, aside from some scuffing on the wires from the skidplate.

i've heard that some people don't seal their servos, but when i opened one of mine, a bunch of muddy water poured out of the gearbox. lol!
lol, well considering i had it submerged for several minutes total... i guess i'm not surprised! i think the biggest problem was it was in a runoff puddle, with road salt in it no doubt. fresh water, even muddy fresh water, isn't nearly as corrosive as people think. heck, training aircraft that crashed into Lake Michigan during WWII are still down there, basically intact.

indeed! i was tearing through a large puddle over and over at various speeds. i think it mostly leaked through when i was going through slowly.

Yes, everyone should have a caliper!
Hehe, I have a set here at home that I took from work, uses the standard dial on it. I need to have it re-dialed, though, because I dropped them and the needle got out of whack from zero. I had to twist the dial around so the needle aligned with 0, lol.

Course, I have like 7 in my filing cabinet a work, I could take another...

Had a little fire goin in my buddie's EXT...

He wanted to swap out the stock unit with my Tazer 12T I had laying around, bought it last Oct. at the same place I bought the Mtroniks RV-15. So we put it in there, got it all nice and neat, but we couldn't figure out why reverse wasn't working. Keep in mind that when the Mtroniks ESC blew, promply before reverse started to act up, and I was around the same person....

Well anyway, it was fine for a little while, then reverse started to not want to function. We couldn't find the solution, so we shrugged it off. I called him over while he was driving it, to look at something on my FXT, then a few seconds later he looks over and sees what looks to be some kind of red smoke grenade set off on my driveway....

Funny though, I used the receipt for the Mtroniks' warranty replacement, so I can't replace the Tazer now...and same exact thing happened with the same person.[&:]

So here's the pic:

The case held up pretty well, so no damage was done to the car. There were a couple flames though, and this thing just sat there smoldering with a LOT of smoke (with some red to it) for about 3 minutes, I think it was. I went to unplug the battery, and instead I just ripped out the wires off the ESC where the solder melted and dripped off...

This thing is junk cause the ESC set button won't work now.

ouch! oh man, any idea what caused that? at first glance it looks like mostly cosmetic damage but i guess that opening is where the set button was! [:'(]

i've been lucky, so far i've mostly damaged servos. [&:]

This is what I've been thinkin' about lately.
Coverting the CEN matrix buggy into an electric.
Then since I wanna experiment with Mugen also, make a brushless Truggy>MBX5 TRUGGY.
Wouldnt that be an awesome combo.[8D]

Paint,

That's crazy that the ESC blew up just like that while it was working okay before.. usually that's just not how electronic would go bad... is it loading up too much w/ a hot motor? Or?

Hope you can get it fixed somehow.... [:'(]

$18.01 for the set after tax. They had an 8" - 200mm set as well, but it was about double the price.

LB, how did your and AutoXMans Touaregs compare with the different wheel setups?
Must be fun to run them together!
