I also recommend that you use 5/32" brass tubing in your tank. If the clunk doesn't have a 5/32" hole then drill it out. In other words make everything 5/32" from the clunk to the pump. Also use 5/32" on your vent side to keep from ballooning the tank during fill.

Hi all,
I'm almost done with my build now. So far so good!
My Tornado has a P60 and I'm using the servo pack supplied by Henry.

Everything has been pretty standard with the build so far (this is my first turbine) but I would like to offer one word of caution in regards to the fuel tank stopper.
The Sullivan Heavy Duty stopper (recommended in a few posts here) is designed to be used on a tank with an extended lip opening, the supplied fuel tank does not have such a lip, For those using this tank stopper, please pay very close attention to exactly how much of the stopper is going into the tank before tightening the hex bolt.
If you have already installed a Sullivan Heavy duty stopper, I'd almost bet money that you will be able to pull your tightened stopper out of the tank by hand.
I found that I needed to machine the lip on my outer cap down considerably to ensure that the neoprene stopper was pushed all the way into the tank before hex screw tightening.

How is everyone else going with builds and flights?

Be carefull with Sullivan supposed petrol/Kero proof tank stoppers, they will disintigrate over a quite short period, the only stopper I have found that does not deteriate is the Dubro Red/Brown Petrol stopper, it has a small 0 on the top.

That is some very good advice about the fuel stopper intsall. I have the HD Sullivan unit installed on mine aswell and I ended up grinding down the outer cap like you said in order to ensure the rubber stopper doesn't come out of the tank. I may work fine in stock form but it's worth it for the piece of mind. I too am using a Dubro gasoline stopper as they have never leaked in the many gassers i have owned over the years.

I made my tank rings out of fiber glass with a little carbon tow around the dia to stiffen. First picture is mandrel for molding. Second show a finished part. Third the fiber glass fuel rings glued in the tank. They fit the Dubro stopper.

We will have stock of trailing link struts wheel and brakes on Wed. If anybody would like to get some please call me ASAP because they will not last very long. The new TORNADO stock will be here mid to late MAY. Thanks to all the great feedback we have fixed all the little issues that were present with the first kits. We will have the old color scheme and the NEW color scheme available through us and Troy Built Models world wide.

For all our hobby enthusiast in South America we will be heading to Medellin Colombia at the end of May for a jet show there and also Sao Paulo Brazil in the beginning of July for a show there. We will be bring all of our models and some Turn Key Jets from other manufacturers to sell.

We will also like to announce that Modellbau USA is now an official King Tech Dealer for Central, South America as well as the USA. We will also be opening Modellbau Brazil hopefully by mid summer in Sao Paulo to supply all of our products to Brazil and South America more efficiently.

Henry I wish you all the best of luck with Modellbau Brazil im sure it will be a hit. I fly to brazil at least 2-3 times a month and the jet community there is very impressive and growing. I'm sure business there will be very prosperous.
I have 60+ plus flight on my Tornado and it is awesome. The trailing link struts have made me look like a pro when I land. I hope you guys have done as good of a job with the F86D as you did with the Tornado.
PS my wife hates you guys she says you guys are a bad influence on our back account lol

Is the small boomed jet a 'Bobcat 50' which you see on a number of Chinese manufacturers web sites, glass fuz and built up covered wings, booms and stab?

CrocEnd if you need a canopy please contact me directly I have them in stock and I can ship ASAP.
As for the little jet for the P20 it is called a mini-T or mini-Tornado it is our new kit which is 30% smaller than the Tornado. It comes with composite fuel tank P20 motor mount and composite control horns. It will be available mid-summer.
The sport jet we will be releasing is delayed. We hope to have it done by he late summer. We just acquired a large UAV contract in Peru that has us backed up so to be able to give 100% support to our new F86, Tornado and the mini- T we decided to delay the production of that aircraft. I will keep everybody unto date with any further info

We will have the new TORNADO Schemes available by the end of May for purchase. They will be aviable in the original Navy trainer paint scheme, Red Navy trainer paint scheme, and in uncovered wing, booms, elevator and Gel coat Fuselage.

Also for those asking about the F86D we will start a thread by the end of the week and have one flying by next week.

Its a different size. I think that is a major difference!!! Oh yea there is that small little detail that the production model will mostly likely be completely COMPOSITE.

The modellbau brazil site is being constructed and should be done in about 2 weeks. We are adding changing languages on our current site in Portuguese and Spanish.
As for the New Tornado scheme Alberto is currently building one now so I should have pictures up in a week. It is the Red Navy trainer scheme. We are also offering a tornado uncovered and unpainted for anybody wanting to do a customs scheme.
FYI Modellbau USA is now the authorized King Tech dealer for Central and South America so If you guys want any of there engines please give us a call for deals.
