Tony,
I have had great results with Econokote. After sanding the bumps, I will usually add balsa wing tips for damage resistance. Other than that, no special treatment.

RE: GWS P51D Mustang

Fieseler156,

Years ago we used talcum powder mixed with white glue on foam to fill the voids. This was heavy and messy.
I am building a Sureflite Howard Pete and will be trying water based...

RE: Anyone have any experience with Kyosho Spitfire?

Good flyer, lousy covering. I have retracts and a Fox .50 in mine. Would recommend if you don't mind recovering after your first season.

I just purchased a new H-9 .60 size Mustang. Without going out to buy an engine I have two possible choices a Super Tigre .61 or a Super Tigre .90. What do you think?

Ace AT-6

I agree with Dickeybird, the .10 would be too much weight. The Norvel 061 will fly it fine. My AT 6 and Corsair have Thunder Tiger 07's. My Mustang and Me-109 have Norvel 061's and they fly great....

Norvel 061

I use ultracoat all the time on foam. Just start with your iron at around 150 and be very, very careful with your heat gun, you will burn the foam before you melt the covering.

Simple Mustang

I have flown mine with both a Cox Tee Dee 049 and a Norvel 061.
The plane flies well with an 061, I would imagine the 074 would really make it scream. I have a Corsair with a TT 07 and it is a...
