DUDE EVERYONE says that, lol, changed gearin, 55, 15, works good, nice speeds.... heck, can't decide what KV (if I do go brushless), ok, know this sounds real dumb, but should I put a center diff in my truck, let us take "vote", I have the diff made up (cut off excess plastic on it, lol, the gear junk, need to prety it up...) but I think it can help even more with handling.... yeah, weather been real rainy down here[], say it will end on monday, and come back on tuesday[:@][:@][:@], GRRRRR, the funny thingie is the soil is so wet, it doesn't stick to my trucks tires, but traction is a joke[:'(]

def, a CD would be AWESOME, the CD wouldn't be like RIGHT after the motor, but where there is space in the truck, diff prob be down by the ESC (stock), random, how bad is the rain where you live, can be prety darn bad down here[], had to cut drainage channels in our track.... not fun[>:], ok, back on subject, def gon to work on it[8D], keep ya all posted, PS, anyone interestd in one IF IT WORKS [8D]

@calvino : you could race small r/c boats on your track

I haven´t decided on which motor to buy... brushed or brushless.
It´s true, once you go brushless you never come back... unfortunately the price don´t let you go :X
I have a 3500kv and 4200kv motors but they don´t fit and my esc doesn´t have reverse

Has anybody used A123 batteries in the rc18? I´m thinking of instead of lipo, using these a123 cells, cheap and very safe...

can I guess, airplane system??? yeah, still considerin modified, then brushed, IDK, the killer is, it costs as much as a good charger, lol, yeah, hard to say, have come up with an idea to cram more cells into the truck, lol, NM, goin lipo, prob, IDk, had to say[&:], as for the track, had enough of water puddling up, so i cut drainiage ditches, can the stupid rains go (for now), lol, in one section, the mud is like quicksand, but, then again except for that spot, it is cool, anyone got 18T track pics....[8D]

Motors are from heli... I´m distracted, i don´t have a 4200kv. I have two 3500kv. One of them its a blue and shinny metal (lol), the other is a ripper 29 from thunder tiger.

The only thing that i need for the A123 cells is a small "dapter" so i can use my lipo charger and a ni-mh peak charger.
A123 won´t be for speeding, only 3.3v per cell, but the 2.3Ah and the 10A charge rate it´s quite nice for endless time of bashing.

definately, yeah, hard to say, want to keep my acceleration up for jumps, but also want SPEED, for the straights, since my sis can somehow beat me on the straights... whatever, prob start 19T and work my way to bruhless, lol

Yeah , i´m almost convinced that i won´t go brushless for now. From what I have read seems that it´s just to much power, the controller acts like a on/off switch.

How do you build your ramps? Have any layout? I was just thinking of building some ramps with wood or metal...

I have the Mamba system in both of my RC18s. It's a lot of power but easily manageable. And these are the first cars I've ever had.....

12 awg can carry more current and have less resistance. The 16 awg silicon will be more flexible, but I'd rather have 12 awg.

ok. i see. but i see mamba has 14awg wires to motor. So 16awg battery wire will not affect the performance?

yea i would love to have a center diff y if you get one out

it rained 3 inches in the past two days and it rained for two days straight on and off

yea brushless would be awsome if you can find a cheap enough system

the center diff would really help our diff probs and be ike a real truggy

that is what I was thinkin also, since it doesn't have a slipper, the only line of diff defense is setting them loose, but then they wobble, and chew gears, and performance is a joke, so it is a tradeoff, I have yet to get started, 2 rear bearings got killed by water, prob from when my sis fliped my truck into a puttle, yeah, GOOD ONE AUDS[:'(], ok, back on subject, what is your "kindof of diff" do you think, I had 2 options, make one out of the spur itself, OR, make one (somewhere) in the truck AFTER the spur, decisions, decisions, decisions[>:], any help, yeah, if I can make it work.........[8D]

If the motor want more power than the 16 awg wire can carry, then yes, it will affect performance. I would use the motor and speed control wires as a guide. Don't buy anything with smaller gauge wires than what's on the motor and speed control. So if the Mamba has 14 awg wire, make sure the battery has at least that. And 12 awg wire on the battery will give a little margin of safety, if you will.
