Hey All,

I was hoping someone could help me out. I just put steel diff gears in my RC18MT, and I have 5 shims in each diff. It still seems like the diffs are slipping. Do I need more shims?

I tightened the diff screws the recommended amount, tighten all the way and back out about 1/2 a turn. The diffs seem to be working fairly well, but those are also an aluminum set up. Would that make a difference? I am running a mamba 6800 with a 60/15 set up. Can you recommend a fix???[]

I would only loosen them a 1/4 turn , and make sure to put some blue loctite on the diff bolt so it doesnt loosen on you .

ya, mine been sittin in pieces[], 2wd has some REDICILOUS turning, i was borred so i took out the 2 front dogbones, WOW, INSANE TURNING!!!!!!!!!, er, until i took it in the backyard, pain to conrtol, but then again, it was kindof a speedster, lol, 15/55, great for motor (BAH, DOWN WITH BRUSHED), but great for speeds, gives me a good blend of speed to acceleration, er, maybe dropin it another tooth, still considerin how to make my RC18T center diff work[>:]

yea you would have to have some gear reduction thingy becuse you couldnt just run the motor to the diff so you would have to have the diff go to a gear then that gear would have to go to a spurr

i wonder if you could lighten up a mini-t gearbox or somthing

maybe, well, I got an idea, why not grind off the excess plastic junk on a spur, and drill the holes in it, thus making it a diff with the spur on it, considering moving the motor though, the position is kindof lame[>:], flipping it so power is in the center, but that means modin the pack... def consider it, trying to keep it as cheap as possible, maybe somethin like a slipper, dang, assocated doesn't give much room for mods[]

like this

1=motor plate
2=spur
3=diff

you would have to run dogblnes or ujoints to each diff like the mini lst
