YEAH, now I don't have to clog up the thread with random posts..... here are some links to vids I have put together with my truck, they are cheesy, but who cares.

As of now the only 2 upgrades I have on the truck are a gear cover, (I swear, you NEED one), and a metal diff gear (good for when the plastic "dies"). I am looking at this LONG line of upgrades, [link=http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=8001&cat_name=RC18T]RPM Wide Bumper[/link], [link=http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=7299&cat_name=RC18T#]Heatsink WITH cooling fan[/link], [link=http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=6420&cat_name=RC18T#]Titanium Turnbuckles[/link], [link=http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=6553&cat_name=RC18T#]Aluminum steering assembly (to cut down on slop)[/link], [link=http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=8444&cat_name=RC18T]Wing, designed for vendetta, who cares[/link], [link=http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=8775&cat_name=RC18T]RC18B Wing Mount[/link], [link=http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=9388&cat_name=RC18T]Another set of metal diff gears (for front diff)[/link], the total of all my "ideas" is, $70, the reason why I am looking at titanium is they come with the tool, steel doesn't (kindof lame)

WOW all of that and only 70 bux. Where does the rc18b wingmounts mount on the car? I looked at the wing mounts and they look to only have one hole for the screw to go through, and im looking at my car (18MT) and it has two screws where i think the wing mounts. thanx

it mounts on the rear tower, prob by friction, I would secure it in with a little hot glue

lol, it does get dirty, um, a good old shop vac, and brushes, brushes I use on the shocks (which have a CRONIC leaking problem), and else where, um, shop vac/skake it over a piece of news paper for cleaning it out[8D]

Also i just realized my friends on/off switchquit turning on, even if you would turn the switch to the "on" positionit wuld not work, the only way he could get it to work was to shove it "on". And it would not stay on, well my switch seems like it is doing that, cause i turn it on and it turns off when i hit a big bump. What is wrong with it? A friend said it might just be dirt in the switch. but i dont know what it is....

yeah, it is dirt in the switch, hold it upside down, and move it back and forth a ton to disloge any dirt... and then hold a vacume cleaner nozzle over it and do liewise, here is a tip, take a sandwitch bag, cut it down smaller, and rubberband it over the switch, that way dirt can't get into the switch, yet you can still shut it on and off the 2 holes you see in the pic are the buggy mount locations

A friend of ours has one, but, he loves doing dougnuuts in loose soil, with no body shell, so naturaly his switch got dirt, and didn't work so good[], so his dad made a "switch" by cutting off the dirty switch, and hooking up the 2 wires together, well, it didn't work very well.... personaly, I would solder them together (but you do have to remember to unplug it when done

Yeah Radio Shack has plenty of switches you could use. They are really cheap too.

I have 2 questions, I am planning on ordering some more stuff for my truck , BUT am in a delema over 2 items, I can't decide wether to go steel or titanium on the turnbuckles, I am kindof a 'racer/basher' so I was looking at steel, BUT they don't come with the tool to adjust them with[] (and titanium costs more), and I was currious about what steering "mod" to get, either a DP Draglink or a [link=http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=6553&cat_name=RC18T#]blue steering assembly[/link]

[link=http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=6420&cat_name=RC18T#]turnbuckles, titanium[/link]
[link=http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=8087&cat_name='#]DP draglink[/link]

thanks alot, calvino[8D]

yeah, I got one left, I gave one to my sister as Christmas present (she has the same truck), but I am hoping to order another set of metal gears... I hate the plastic ones since they have to be shimmed prety tight to mantain mesh, and when they do wear out, it leaves TONS of little plastic dust bits that makemovment harder for the truck, so, I will wait, yeah, I think it was bad luck or something, it was a prety old spur to start with[>:], could it have anything to do with my gearing, I am running the stock MT gearing, with Proline Dirthawgz (tinier), so, IDK, could that cause it, I now have an IR tep gauge, so I could post temps.....

These are JUNK ! The 3 Racing ones are OK , never tried the GPM's . I have the Lunsford set on it now and I think they are worth every penny .

calvino , I cant belive your'e breaking these shafts like this ! [X(]

You must be setting the gear mesh too tight , either that or your propeller shaft is bent near the spur gear . Maybe the motor mount is bent ?

The DP drag link is the way too go , its really the only hop up that helps the RC18's sloppy steering .

turn on the truck

then hold like a small allenwrench... on the SET button

keep holding it on there until BOTH lights flash at the same time

then leave the xmitter on NEUTRAL (don't touch it at all), press SET, the light (LED) is

now GREEN

pull the tx back to full "forwards" and press the button, the light wil turn RED

then push the xmitter to full "brake" and press the SET button, the lights should flash simultaneously 3x, the ESC is programed

if you think, oh no, I messed up, UNPLUG the power for over 10 seconds, and try again.

hope that helps

Awseome! Thanks alot. Ya my friends rc was bieng wird and wouldnt go when you would hit the throttle, but would go in reverse full throttle until you hit the throttle forward again. I will call him and tell him what to do and see what happens. Thanks again.
