I doubt it was the wheel pants, I flew mine with them at first, but one fell off mid flight, so I ripped the other off. It doesn't need them anyways! I just figured out that the combo I like is technically a snap-up to a torque roll... it's exactly as I described, I just want aware that a snap roll, to wall was actually a snap up, not that it matters, I'm just still learning all the possible stunts... I'm guessing it was your CG, if it's to tail heavy, it makes sense that it would react that way. Not to mention the wind probably didn't help! I'm going to add a cf brace to my landing gear, to keep it from bending like that, basically make it into a triangle... It may be worth it to find a field with weeds and grass, it's much better for the plane than rocks and sand... even if it's a little further, it may be worth it.

I just got back from flying. I moved CG a little back and I made my first hand lunch (by my self)
I flew about 20 feet and than I added full power and went for the sky. I dno, was it the CG or the wheel pants (just added) but the airplane didn't handle as well as it did last time. I flew a couple of crazy circles and found that the plane was weird. I couldn't handle it!
I got into a little panic. I slowed it down and came for a landing. There were gusts of wind blowing the plane and I made a rough landing. [&:] Checked at the plane and saw that the rudder had came apart from the fuse! [:-] I think it was because rudder's tailwheel got stuck in grass. The wheels were totally bent. And I had to go home... WOW! The wheels seriously suck! Everytime I land I see how the landing gear bends etc... I will just cut off the wheels and I will see... I think it also was a problem with CG because last time I flew it normally but this time it was not normal...

Wow, today I went against my better judgement, and blendered my poor turmoil, I could hear it creak from all the way across the field... not only did it creak, but one of my SFG got messed up, which caused a crash into the weeds, which messed up an aileron. It took all of 30 seconds to fix it all, and it was about the end of the battery anyways. I can say it'll be awhile before I try that again, although it dranoed quite nicely... I got a second pack in today because my friend just got a new plane, he's a complete newbie, so he bought a Firebird Freedom. That thing is pretty stout; I can't tell you how many times I winced thinking it was surely done for. At the end of the day the only real damage turned out to be a bent wing, he still wanted to fly, so I grabbed some duck tape and a stick, and it friggin' worked! It was hysterical, but it worked I tell you. Not only that but he left it on when he put it away too, lol. So, word of advice, if you blender a flatout, you may want to make sure to keep the dive really short!

I just got back from flying my Jumping Jack 3D. I bought it like 5 weeks ago. It's a nice plane though. I have made all the 3D tricks now, and I made my first blender today. It handles it well.
For my reflection, I made a couple of upgrades. The instructions said to make 2 stiffners for the motor (foam pices) I made 2 more of them now! The nose it super strong and now I'm not scarec of adding full power. As for my rudder, I used lots of glue to put it back in place safely. But today, I couldn't fly it today because the glue wasn't dryed before the sun went down!
Now I wanna get more in 3D with my reflection... I haven't made much 3D---- YET!
Happy Landings LOL! [8D]

Todays second flight was spent mostly on hovers, elevators, a couple of hammerheads, harriers, pogos which are tough with a flatout... Ohh that and barnstorming my friend while he went to get his plane he crashed a few hundred yards into the field. On another note, I think I may have created a new 3d trick, I just need to fine tune it, and come up with a name maybe... Ohh, and I expanded on my favourite combo, now I do a snap-up to torque roll to rolling harrier, wow that looks so cool. It was supposed to rain all day today too. Then again, it's supposed to tomorrow as well, I hope not... I might just blender it a few more times to find the weak spots, maybe bring some CA and accelerator to the field!

Hey,
I fixed evey single thing on my reflection right now. Nice tune up though.
Now I'm planning to fly today. I will fly also my typhoon, jumping jack, skyscooter etc.. It's gonna be so much fun!
I'm just waiting for battery to get charged. I will also try to make a video and pictures.
Enjoy flying!

Hey!
I've had several flights on mine now ....
It's really fun! I made my first couple of low level hovers. I'm swetting in a hover because evey wrong move can cost me my plane lol.
I made KE to KE turns, low level torque rolls, Snap rolls, harriers, inverted harriers etc... My favorite move is rolling harrier. This plane is just so good at it. It doesn't need (close to) no rudder to stay on level.
I also made a rudder touch down in a harrier.
This plane is a great FUN!

Just got mine airbourne today and had some great flight, I'm still too afraid to bring my torque rolls low yet, but I'm getting much better, I probably could if I tried, but I don't want to tempt faitejust yet!

True, I flew mine today and made low hovers again... I'm not gonna try it anymore because I almost crashed! I made a TR (torque roll) and the plane accidently felt out of it! It was like a feet away from the ground!
after, I made a rough landing (windy) and a servo came off. I already fixed it. It took me about 1 minute lol!

What kills me is when I torque roll it at about 20 feet or so and the battery dies while your hovering, it's hard enough making a decent landing off of that, I can't imagine what I'd do if I were closer to the ground! I suppose get a bigger battery and or stop flying below 50 feet or so when the battery is due to die...

Hi, [
]
I was flying and crashed
I made a low rolling hovering and the wing snapped in the ground. Fuse is in half and rudder has a lot of cracks. All the places were I have glued have been opened and the whole plane looks crooked.
I either must buy a new plane or glue it back again. I will first try to glue it, and see how does it fly. If it doesnt wanna fly well, I will just go with a new battery.

Well, that is one great thing about the planes, their only about 20 bucks! Most people just do just glue them together again, and where needed, use some clear packing tape where necessary. Should work out ok. I'm still waiting for my ESC for my flex yak, I'll keep the low flying to that when it's flying again. Hopefully you can get it flying well again.

Sup,
I fixed my plane (evn though its a little crooked, it flys well)
I had to use my standard Rx before and it had dul rates (low, high..)
Now I'm using my micro Rx and I saved a lot of weight. But I have a problem (and a question
). On my transmitter I have dual rates, but they won't work with my small micro Rx. Will the rate thing depend also on the Rx? I've had several flights on my *high rate* plane now. It's wild, belive me.... I 'm not a bad pilot [&:] And it's hard to handle because the controls feel touchy. ROFL I can barely make a small correction, and the plane already twists and turns. Any suggestions?
Today I tryed rolling harrier and I didn't need ANY rudder inputs to stay on level! The roll's are so fast that I can barely see my plane.
Something is wrong with my control throws. If I push the elev/rudd/AIL stick completly down, it moves to veritcal position. I tryed a waterfall, and it made it in the size of its own!
Any suggestions? The controls just feel too touchy for me... either its my experiece problem or it is the control throws

What do you guys think of a reflection or turmoil with a hacker A20-20L, an x 20 esc, and a tp 1320 batt? to heavy...not gonna be for indoor flying

mh... I think its a little too heavy. Get a rimfire, 12amp esc and 1320 batt will work great.
I'm using 1320 and 900 mah pack. both work great.
1320 will give you a long flight time, about 20 minutes. But I like flying with the 900 pack because its lighter.

It will be more than that, I guarentee it. I'm flying a depron version (much lighter than the Flatout foam) tape hinges, so none of that weight, carbon only needed where needed. Yours will probably be 11-12.

i bought a reflection yesterday, started building today, new to flying rc's. never touched one before actually, but ive got uber amounts of sim time with fsx and 2004 (tower cam), neway i can mirror everyones attitude about building it, broke two control horns right off the bat, but the kewl part is i bought it from the man who designed it, so i know someone who can jerry rig it atleast, any ideas on an alternative method to replace a broken z bend, i havent even messed with control rods yet and i dont have servos or radios. how does this thing do in any kind of breeze, has anyone had it in a gym yet, where is the best place to ask for time in someones gym. churches community center, highschools, like i said im totally new, thinking about sticking to 3d foamies. should be getting a futaba 6chanel radio soon, has anyone tried cross bracing the vert and horiz fuse at the nose to strengthen the motor area.
