Mr Crashman ... CA for hinges is easy to use. Be gentle ... one drop at a time, Position the nozzle so that it is not so steep too. One good trick for CAhinges is to OIL the area surrounding the hinge before you CA it. How to do this?Well, just put some light machine oil onto a tissue or rag and wipe the area surrounding the hinge. This ensures that you do not get fume stains and any minor drip will not blemish the covering. Its a great tip for planes that are DARK or BLACK.

I simply use some CA debonder on a cotton swab to clean the area around the hinge. Some Windex before applying the decals will take care of the remaining residue.

Well here it is, my first attempt at putting together a video. My wife Melissa shot the footage and I edited it. Wow! it's a time consuming process! As this is our first attempt it is far from perfect, but we are determined to learn this "art" and get better with each new video.
I did my best to show as many maneuvers as possible. To all who have asked, please note the complete absence of any wing rock in harrier, both upright and inverted, as well as the extreme pitch authority of the EXP.
Without further adieu: http://www.extremeflightrc.com/vide...0EXP_ARF%20.wmv

How are you guys mounting the AirBoss 45 ESC ? It's just a bit too big to fit under the motor box. Should I turn it sideways ?
Also, are you mounting it directly onto the wood, or are you using velcro ? If using velcro, which side of the ESC should it go on ?
What makes you think I'm new to electrics

My Airboss 45 fit lengthwise. I don't remember if it sticks out a bit or not. It's not a problem, though. I used to use velcro only, but now I don't use velcro anymore and use zip ties instead. Straight to the wood. Since electrics have no vibrations (if you balance your prop, which we all do, hm? :-) ), it doesn't need to be plushy!

I finished mine. Since I usually only fly gas and only have the Little Bangee electric, some questions. I didn't go for the combo setup and in stead I got myself 3 2650mah Zippy batteries, Turnigy 40A controller and Turnigy SK 35-42 1000kV motor.
With the battery all the way up front, I got the CG 1/8" behind the center of the wing tube. Is this gonna work out fine or will it be tail heavy? I like my planes to be close to being tail heavy. With the big battery the plane weighs in at 47-1/2oz.
Also, I ran a few batteries with a Xoar 12x7E prop. Everything seems to work fine but the motor gets really hot and smells after 30 secs+ full throttle. Is this normal? I guess the motor is about 60 degrees Celsius after the full throttle run. The battery is warm and the controller slightly hot. I tried low, medium and high timing mode and I get the impression I get much longer run times in high timing mode. Can someone please confirm?
And I haven't used any of the included EZ connectors. These create a big load on the arms. See image 3 for how far the arms are out of line.

cpreinfalk, I was referring to post 18 by mstam1971 about the connectors being out of line. He referenced the third pic in post 18. I looked at the pic and could not imagine The EF Crew letting that get by. It seems that this was an anomaly, as I've heard no other complaints from anyone else. It looks to Me as though the horn on mstam1971's elevator is further out than normal. Anyway ,was not sure so thought I'd ask.Really looks like a great plane.
Best Regards, TJ

It is a great plane. However, EZ connectors can only move sideways, not up and down. For that reason I would never use them for anything other than e.g. a throttle linkage and even for thet purpose I don't use them because they wear out fast.
If you wanna make decent linkages fast, your best bet is to get 4 mini swivel ball links, some 2-56 threaded rod and 4 small screws and nuts. You can use the washers from the EZ connectors. servocity.com carries the mini ball links and threaded rod.

Just wanted to pass along that the Extra is back in stock!
It is personal preference but we have been using the EZ connectors for quite some time with great luck...
makes it easy to set the surface up quickly, then have a solid, no slop, linkage....

Hi guys,
I made a little video of the 48" Extreme Flight EXP... it's only a little teaser, the full version is coming soon. We are still searching for cool locations and for better weather.
I'm totally in love with this plane, for years I searched for a model that really could do all 3d without effort, and still tracks great. Well here it is!! It's a superb plane, ultra light and ultra strong!! I really can't break it we did full power, spins, walls, etc this plane really gives a new meaning to some 3d figures.
Enjoy...

I got mine finally set up and had some flights on her. Set up is as follows:
Motor - DualSky 3548-5
ESC - Turnigy 60A
Batt - FP 4S 2,500
Prop - Xoar 13x7
Servo - HS 65HB
With the set up, I do not lack any power for sure. I find the plane slightly snappy compared with the 45" Extra. Not to my liking at the moment but many of my friends love her and they are flying her like they stoke it. Guess its just me. Anyone else find that she gets slightly snappy? Is it because I am on 4S?
