hey guys, anybody out there in r/c land flying a hanger 9 tribute 3-d plane. this is .32 -40 powered nitro plane from horizon and a few other retailers. pretty good looking plane ....not foam . a nice little plane to hover on, and not burn up a ton of fuel either...thanks for any input. i would guess it takes standard servos. it doesn't say on the website i don't think.......GEETER

The Tribute can't really hang with the current lineup of 3D profiles as far as 3D goes.
If you really want a great 3D bird in that size, the only real choice for glow is the [link=http://www.swanyshouse.com/mojo25/mojo25.aspx]Swanyshouse MoJo25[/link].
It's a kit, but an easy build.
A better choice to learn on would be a 40 size as they are a bit slower.
MoJo 40 or a LamYak 40 are excellent first builds and will reward you with GREAT flight characteristics.

You really must look on the inside. A slightly hard landing and the tribute fuse will break under the wing saddle. I had one, broke it, glued it, sold it, and bought a Mojo.

I haven't flown any of the other planes mentioned so far, but I can say that I really dig the way my tribute handles. A couple of other guys at the field seem happy with theirs as well. My only ***** is the fuel foaming is messing with my engine. I was close to getting that dialed in, but the weather got cold so I haven't messed with it too much since. Probably this spring i'll add some foam under the fuel tank and Make sure that my prop is balanced correctly, then fly the crap out of it. These guys are right though...Don't biff a landing or you'll be sorry. Also, watch the small "block" that the wing bolts go through. Mine popped loose when I turned too sharply while taxiing. The wing tip dug into the ground and luckily I noticed that the wing wiggled when I got it on the bench.

I love my tribute. I have a 46AX on it and the battery mounted just behind the canopy in the fuse. I used two foam pads behind the tank and put a couple fuel line strips behind the foam padding and I have no issues with foaming. My prop gets beat up a lot with the rough grassy field I fly in so i know its not balanced and still no foam issue with the foam and line. Also I used rubberbands and paperclips to secure the fuel tank. Mine has survived quite a few flights doing blenders and violent movements non stop. I keep waiting for it to break because I have heard several reports but mine has been very durable. This is a very fun plane to fly when its overpowered and if mine breaks i'll buy another for sure. I know the Mojo is better for 3d, but this plane is a solid performer and for the price its awsome.

A guy at our club flies one. He uses a 4 stroke on it. It will do just about anything the pilot is skilled enough for. It lands extremely slow too.
