Y do u have the elevator servo in the fuz and y only 1 servo, i would have thought that two servos would be better because you can mix ur elevators into elevons.

I have the single central 8511. Seems fine to me and keeps all the extremities light.

If you watch Lukes snap roll it is very pridictable and stops where he wants it two. Add 5 ozs of servo (thats approx 3% of the whole AUW) 1.5 metres from the cg things will move just a little quicker. My two pence worth.

Ive got two at the back. Definitly get less slop plus if one fails you can still land. With two standard size servos at the back (about 4oz) the model balanced perfectly.

Still not sure whether to take a chunk out of the tailplane or the servos to get them to fit...[:@] a good 3mm needed to be removed!!

Why don't you move the servo's more forward it's only an adaption. It happend to mine and my brother's 140's .The builder made an adaption and it worked out well.

i had a Futaba Digital on the elivator of the Electric one and sometimes it would not wall (servo blow back) at the freestyle meet last year i did a verticle wall leaving the pull to about 15 foot and it just did a smooth pull out, just missed the ground then walled!! (Ali had his hands oner his eyes!)

i swaped it for a JR 8411 and its been perfect ever since

1 servo is only suitable if you use an 8411/8511 etc.

Malc is right about keeping all the weight in the middle but it still has to ballance, Servos are better than Lead

Angus.

I disagree with the slop argument but I will concede if a servo were to fail your system is better.

Now what do we do if to fail [:@]

Well basically two in the back works for some , one in the back works for others!

I personally i think i'm going to put it in the deck getting too low far before the single JR on my elevator fails

right lets find that reciever that has two crystals in case one fails.........................

Hi!

I think I must go with a removable rudder for my C140 (for transportation...). Anyone done this?

Thanks,
Mikael

My tiny mind could not cope with engineering a detatchable tailplane -single staple attachment to elevator method...

Mikael. I have seen from a distance models of the F3a type like this. They seem to have a series of pin hinges which are locked with a single long piano wire. I own a Galaxy and all I do for transport is use a large rubber band to lock the prop to the passenger headrest and push the rudder hard left to miss the tail-gate Not sure if I could cope with all the de-rigging [:@]

What do you drive?

I think it would be easier to take the spinner off.

I have a removable tailplane, which means I can sqeeze the rudder in between the passenger seat and the passenger window.

Mine won't fit.. even with spinner off.. [:@][:@][:@] rudder goes back to near center on it's own.. useless 8511s....

Next challenge is to mount the 791 and 699 pipe... Anyone got photos of the header mounting??? I think this needs to be soft mounted too or it will break??

Pipe is softmounted at rear...

Regards,

Steve

What kind of header is it? If its Hatori or Johnson then the MK header support is very good. Just make sure the header can move forward otherwise it will break after only a few flights. Probuild should have them.

Yep, it's a Hatori 791, part solid, part flexi.. a push-fit onto a 699 pipe!

Can't seem to see what this MK mount looks like

Steve

I'll try and get a pic up tonight. You'd need to check it goes over the end of your manifold tho (if its the same diameter as the flexi bit then it'll be fine)

No probs. Here's a few pics of the support. Bit blurry but you get the idea.
