I got the motor sorted out in the end. Well I think I have, 1/4 balsa and lots of epoxy, this I may have used too many micros ballons making it very brittle. However it feells really sercure. Just this damn weather.
That's my next 2m I'd like to get, the impact, whats it like post some photos. How much they for us once the conversion is done.
I'd say go for Hacker, more power.

Foofydoo,
The Impact is great value as all composite pattern ships go - the red/white scheme is 739EUR (£500) and the painted in the mould Impact scheme is 899 (£610) plus the shipping to the UK which is about £60. PM me if you're interested in one - I'm a UK rep for C-ARF
I'll post some pics of mine tonight when I get home.
I'll be updating my site www.composite-arf.co.uk with the building progress too!
Rgds,
Mark

Edible,
I've had a few guys buy Impacts now - they're proving very popular at the prices in post #28.
I've gone for the all white version for my own paint job so the lining up will be down to me and the masking tape

Lock all your doors tonight schroedm, I'll be coming.
Very nice, but is it called an ARTF model, cause that looks only a bit more complete than my smaragd was. Some nice Ideas for beefing up the U/C on that German guys site, gonna add that to my smaargd

I think in this day and age, ARTF is a fairly subjective term. I guess we'd need to clarify the frames of reference? Relative to a box of balsa or a kit etc it is very much ARTF. Relative to another 'ARTF' where more is done for you (thus less flexibility for your own way of doing things) then maybe it isn't as ARTF?!

I think you're right there, ARF is becoming too much like the word "free" is now. I think the fact the fuse are moulded takes a lot of work out of these planes. But the hardest bit I always find is the installation of everything.
If you can, could you describe how the ailerons and elev are hinged, because they're kevlared in and I still don't understand how this method works. Pics of that would be nice too.
What paint you going to use to spray the fuse and wings([:@]) cause I have no idea what to use, tried enamel paint in the cockpit but it scratches very easily. (WHy I tried it in the cockpit first)

Foofydoo,
This image might help you understand the wing construction/hinging. All Comp-ARF models are hinged in the same way.
As for the paint, I am toying between using vinyl all over mine or getting it sprayed by a friend - he has the equipment to spray with 2-pack paint so the finish will be rock hard.
Could you spray your fuselage with enamel/cellulose or your preferred paint and then get it lacquered with 2-pack clear?? It'll be super shiny and rock hard then.
Rgds,
Mark

well the weather looks ok for tomorrow, I have a completely covered, I'm just worried about the air to the battiers, but I'm keeping the flights short tomorrow so they don't over heat. Wish me luck.
