Do you have the disease bad when your best flying buddy tells you and your wife that you have "too many airplanes"???

my wife only gave me the eye when she found out i spent over $40K in RC alone this year ... she really became upset when she caught me naked in the shower with a Vario bell230 Fuselage ...... it took a bit of explaining to get myself out of that one ...

( just so you all don't think im deviant, i take advantage of shower time to wet-sand my projects ... beats the driveway and the garden hose )

Looks like you've got us beat! While I have spent more than that on RC in a year, and a few others I know, I truly can't say I've ever been caught naked in the shower with one of my projects. I don't think any one else can either.

Or, maybe I should only speak for myself

Hi all my Name is Gerald aka Krayzc

It all started for me a few years ago, I was a virgin to sexy planes. I meet this sweet lady name PT-40 she had such a powerful engine a LA-40 propped with a 10 x 6 air master. She was such a beast to handle on the ground with the fast taxing. As time went on and my skill level came to be me and old girl became very close. I felt I would never want any other girl but her. As time went on other flyers told me about fly ins, so I ventured out to see what they were all about (big Mistake). Once in this environment I saw many other ladies I would love to have my fingers, hands all over. I then started questioned things my favorite girl would do eg. why do you try to turn back over when I fly you inverted, why do you try to roll back flat when I try to fly you in knife edge. At this point I could see the strong relationship starting to crumble. I wanted to do right by her so I did not tell her I was thinking about buying a sig space walker. I went to one more fly in this time I was introduced to 300 and caps. This really did cause problems between the pt-40 and the space walker as I found myself wanting a cap. I somehow found myself in the store buying a sig cap and a h-9 advance 40 with a TT-46 to get me up to speed for the cap. Excuse me let me check the mail.. "Gerald you have paid your bill so well with 1st usa visa that we are increasing your credit limit by 10,000 dollars. cut back to the story at hand. One of the flyers at our club let me borrow Dave Patrick's wring it out volume 2 and 3. Wow! I must learn all those things. Out goes the pt-40 to try the left and right spins. Some how I felt old girl was not doing it like she really could so I did some modding from what DP had said this time I tried the downline with full throttle. That PT-40 did not want to do it and somehow the wing snapped when I tried to pull out of the spin at full throttle. When you are on a gigolo roll you don't sweat the small stuff. I went to the locally hobby shop ordered me a jr 8103 radio and proceeded to get me 10 models since it would hold that many as my jr-400 did not. Really looking back I think its the radio company fault that I tried to get those 10 models. I stopped counting after I wreaked about 20-25 planes and never could keep 10 flying models, or was it that DP tape that never really let me wring my models out. I must admit the GP G-2 did save me a lot of money with my count after 25 planes. Thanks for listening to me but I don't think I fit in this AA kind of stuff. O yeah I maxed out that credit card, it would have been nice to have been able to sell used planes as some of you have had the pleasure of doing only thing back in the day; they would never last over a couple of months. I think I may need to get some new people to hang around as positive breeds positive but that Clint Randles somehow talked me into buying a 40% Radiocraft 330 back in May 02. He such a good salesman, do you all think I need to hang with someone else? Now, that I think about it he did help me to stop wreaking so many planes by videotaping my wreak less flying that does help you to see you are banging the sticks... Anyway I have taken some months off from flying, no it does not have anything to do with the fact that I am in Japan right now and we have typhoons all the time. I just know I can stop at anytime as I am not hooked. I leave Japan in Dec I may fly a little when I get back. Or was it that guy name Pugsley who sold me that funtana that I can't wait to put together in Dec if I find some free time he he. you all may want to keep an eye out on the for sale column as you may see me post a selling it all as I am getting out of the hobby........ Well I think I will be leaving your AA meeting thanks for your time and I hope you guys get better by attending these meeting. Thanks Dale for telling me about this meeting but you know Clint and I really don't need any help, but now, Thom, Owen. Pug, Jeff, Mike, Jim, Brad, Joe and some off those guys might........

Now that you have all taken the first step, it is time to rid yourselves of guilt.

Repeat after me...

Airplanes are my friend.

Any money not spent on airplanes is wasted.

You must have wings to fly to heaven.

Airplanes are my friend.

Meeting adjourned.

Default I won't be at the meeting....

I've only got 9 planes flying, and 26 kits in the
pile....so I don't see it as a problem.

Gerald,
You are shameless and insensitive. Don't you realize, the Pt-40, died of a broken heart, not a snapped wing.

So you see, this addiction is not a victim-less crime.

Hi all I am back,
I think i am coming to terms that maybe i do need these meetings as i just came off the glow engines for sale and somehow i picked up an OS-160 that i don't even have a plane for. Any good planes i should look at? Oh back to the lecture at hand; Yeah my son laughed when my heart broke that day. I said "son, that's not funny" he replied they laugh on G-2 when you crash, then i start laughing and realize he was right. i knew i didn't like that g-2 for some reason........now what's the saying we say every meeting now that i'm coming to terms. I will talk with my buddy Clint to get him to attend these meetings.......

Hi I'm Dale and I'm an airplane-aholic.

I sold one more of those nasty birds last night. I started with 23 aircraft two years ago and today I am down to 4. This weekend I am going to a swap meet and sell three more of them. That'll put me with only 1 left (and one in the mail- oops).

You guys gotta give me strength I see this H9 Taylorcraft just begging me to buy her. I've resisted her so far, but.........

Ya gotta help me, I already had one relapse and that's why there is one in the mail (or on the dock in Los Angelos).

I should be able to get down to 1 on Sunday at the swap meet. The last time I had talked to my sponsor, he had just purchased a 40% Radiocraft himself - some sponsor.
