Jemo,
What are you waiting for man, grab a piece of paper and start folding. LOL

Just be careful though, she may grab a stack of papers and serve you with them.

I've heared the only thing that Wife's are good for is to help pick your trim scheme. That and make dinner while you're too busy trying to figure out how to mount that new YS 63.

Default recovery what's recovery

Hi my name is Dale and I'm a recovering airplanaholic. I had 23 planes two years ago. At the start of this flying season I was down to 11. I have only 5 of the peskie birds left ( 2 of the 5 are for sale) as we speak. There are fewer of them, but they seem to be growing.

Had one slip last week and ordered an Aeroworks 33% (104") Extra. I think I slipped after my sponser slipped and bought a 40% radiocraft. I was doing so well.....

I should be down to 4 planes soon. I'm weaning myself off them like the patch with cigarettes.

The first time my wife saw a 40% size plane, she looked at me and said, "Don't even THINK about it, you will NEVER own something like that." :boxing:

Well, That EXACT airplane sits in my garage now!!!

Ever wonder why divorce is so expensive???? BECAUSE ITS WORTH IT!!!!!

I find that when your addiction starts to affect your relationship with your wife or affects your performace at work.......its time to find a new job and/or wife!!!!

As the founder of Model Airplanes Anonymous I know what it is like for you guys that have all these problems. The cure really is quite clear. It really is a simple A-B-C program. As I posted earlier, the people who recover in Aircraft Anonymous are those who:
(a) stay away from kits, glues, composites, glow fuel, gasoline, balsa and flying fields; and (b) Get their planes to a founder, like Cheech, as soon as possible

This system works. I helped a pilot yesterday by bringing home his Moki 1.8 powered Extra 300XS. We met in central Indiana. I cannot say for sure whether letting this plane will cure him. I saw helicopter brochures on the seat of his truck.

I have my own vice under control. However, this new 1/4 scale addition to the home had a very low W-A-F (wife acceptabce factor)

Default Pre-nup for adicts

A couple of years ago, I saw a pre-nup agreement for RC'ers. Does anyone still have a copy? I need it.

I am actually getting married again in September. don't worry, there are no IMAC or IMAA events in my area that weekend! She is a GREAT woman who completly understands and encourages my addiction!!! In fact, she was my caller at the Nats a couple of years ago. She had never done this before and kept referring to herself as my "call girl" - who am I to correct her???

Hi, I'm latch66 and I don't want to quite.

My wife made me come to this meeting after the arrival of my Sledge 540. She said something about the airplanes in the garage, under the bed, in the attic, in the bedroom??? I wasn't really listening. I had shifted into the "safe" responses. "Yes Dear".

While she is not threatening to leave me. She is writting a book She is a teacher specializing in behavior disorders. She said something about it would be a great doctorial thesis, but that no-one would believer her. I sneaked a look at the title the other day when she wasn't at home:

"MY LIFE with the AIRPLANE LUNATIC"

Can someone tell me what she is talking about?????

Latch66

Thats an easy one...

"MY LIFE with an AIRPLANE LUNATIC" is a book about her severe dislike toward this guy her husband flies with regularly. I believe chapter 3 refers to some burn marks on a brand new dining room table left by a covering iron.

Don't know who the guy is though.

jnjackson,

You and I are in deep trouble if we don't do something quick.

Our wives are starting to team-up. If that happens things will get ugly real quick.

Let's face the cold hard facts.

Both of them know how to shoot.
Both of them hate you.
At least one of them is mad at me.
Neither understand the simple pleasures of flying R/C.
Neither understand you cannot have too many airplanes.

So, it is obvious, we must stop this team from forming.

I really appreciate you taking one on the chin by burning your wifes dining room table with the covering iron. I use it as a "Well Hon, at least I didn't do that."

Default Well I have got the Ultimate Wife

Lads,

My wife is the saint of all saints when it comes to R/C planes and the sport.

Our wedding day in 2000. What's more we tied the knot the day after my fly-in and before setting off on the honeymoon she even agreed to let me fly at the Sandown Show in the UK the following weekend . . . .. .

Now beat that !!!!!!

Default Late...but....

My lovely bride actually went to the LHS and PURCHASED my first plane! (along with the radio, engine, field equipment, etc.) She setup the first flight with the instructor and had the AMA number waiting for me at the same time.

I just acquired a P-51 yesterday, and she couldn't wait to get out to the "hangar" and take a look. This is my fourth plane in three months, and she hasn't stopped me yet. As a matter of fact, she's even considering the "RC" fund, a weekly deposit into the savings account earmarked only for RC purchases.

I would have to say that when the wife is actually contributing to your "habit", participating and encouraging, that's better than being "single".

And no, she doesn't have a sister...

I wrote this about two years ago.

http://webpages.charter.net/mediasho...isc%20main.htm

Check the sidebar menu for RC anonymous - about 4 or 5 items down.

It obviously has not helped, since during that two years, I've added three 40% airplane, a Bobcat turbine, a couple of 35% planes, a 50% decathlon, a new trailer, upgraded the RV, and am considering ordering a F15 turbine project.

So, I added the post on RC Anonymous with hesitation, as it doesn't seem to be working for me. It might work for you if you give it a shot.

It sounds like your disease has progressed to the high percent syndrome. The only way to be cured of this form of the disease is to load the trailer and have me swing by and extract them from you. I know it is a brutal cure but I will dispose of the offending flying objects. In a safe manor. I will need directions to your location so I can help you with your cure. I will arrive in a Bio Suit with a respirator system so I am not contaminated by the airborne variety of the disease. E-mail me with your information and we can arrange a time to affect your cure. Remember admitting you have the disease is the first step but you can not get better until you let go of the offending flying objects. Your friend DR KCFlyBoy

The problem is I can't give you any directions. When I am not at home in the workshop, I am traveling about in the RV at various two day flying events. Probably out in the middle of some field, transmitter in hand and plane in the air. I am constantly on the move, and would be hard to find. And I won't tell you where my shop is. Its all part of the disease.

You will just have to try to catch me at some event somewhere, and try to sneak the trailer away from me. You can't miss it, as its the one with the "You will have to pry my transmitter from my cold dead fingers". Its right next to the 'Protected by S&W" sticker. There will probably be some guy standing next to it with a large metal pipe in one hand, and a 12" knife in the other. At his feet will be a gnarling bull dog bearing all the teeth it has.

If you don't see any of the above, then I'll be the guy sitting beside the RV sipping on a Corona after a good day of flying. You'll know its it me, because I'll say "Stranger, come sit. Have a Corona and tell me about your day of flying. Want a burger to go with that Corona?" :-)

Some Guys will admit they have the disease but are not ready to be cured. Its ok I occasionally relapse but I have been able to avoid the high percent syndrome.
