that's a 2 stroke engine............

I am sure your problems are coming from fuel feeding issues. UCD3D gurus will certainly knock at the door and give you some tips

it's a 4 stroke motor, the only problem is the fuel tank, the position it's higher than the fuel inlet in the carburator, but i dont know how i can resolve this problem because i cant place lower the fuel tank. or may be i can?

jo, in an OS engine it would have to be the FS-91 II with pump 24.6 oz. with muffler and 1.6 BHP @ 11,000 rpm. It will swing a 16" prop. Thats 3.6 oz. heavier than a Saito 100 but its .4 more BHP. biggest plus aside from that is, its pumped. Joe

Jo..
I'd go with what Joe says too...flew our UCD .60 with an O.S .91FSIIP for the first time at the w/end ..early days yet ..but a summer full of promises ....The pumped O.S is just effortlessly lovley.. fit and forget ... i've enough to think about with this bewitching new airplane...... good luck.. Dave.

Just got my UCD .46 Going to put an OS .50 SX ringed with mac pipe on it. Any suggestions for weight balance? Do I mount it close to firewall or further out? I will be using standard JR 537 servos and 6 v 600mAh battery pack. Anything else I need to know to keep from having to put it together too many times? I am trying for lightweight. I saw Jason Danhackle fly the .46 with a .46 motor very sucessfully. I would do all the close up moves, harriers, torquerolls, etc.
I have been flying three years, have competed in pattern events, done some pylon racing, and 3D is the next interest. I has hoping on tips on how to do the moves on the UCD included in the instructions.

Patternman, we could probably supply you with some general tips, but there is a massive UCD .46 thread going on in the 3D flying forum with tons of tried and true info. Check it out and good luck, Joe

Okay, got some fuel through the new YS 110 which will be replaceing the Saito 100. Don't know what I'm looking at yet as far as getting it to balance. I've been comfortable at 5-1/2" CG. Just hope I don't have to strap the 5 cell to the rudder. Its going to hurt adding another 6 oz. to this already 8lb.+ plane, but I know this hunk of alloy will haul it around. Right now I have a 16/4 wide APC and Contempo boasts a 17/4 wide @ a respectable 9800 rpm if my memory serves me. Any feed back on weights, prop size and rpm's with this setup? Thanks in advance, Joe

P.S. Most importantly, what about right thrust angle? The Saito 100 needed 4 degrees and was wondering if I should prepare for more.

Foof, Very impressive piece of machinery. It was just waiting to be started. Right out of the box it kicked quicker than a warm Saito. The 15/6 wood was cavitating at half throttle on the bench. Just one of those things that put a grin on you face. I'm greatly impressed and its not on the plane yet. Can't wait. Joe

Got the YS 110 mounted. Firewall to backside of spinner, 5-1/2" nice and close to aid in balance. No line up on the blue accent stripe. Once I finish up the plumbing and throttle linkage we will see about balancing. Looks like I'll be needing a new cowl. Betwwen the old access holes and the new ones required it will look like swiss cheese. Good ventilation though. Joe

Went to the field last night with my UCD and normally rock solid Saito 100. First flight of the night took off and went vertical. Kept climbing then all of a sudden the engine dies. Was able to get it down smoothly. But something is majorly wrong with my engine. It's really tight. Barely wants to turn. It still has compression and the valves seem to be OK. I'm afraid I've had a bearing failure on the front end. I'm gonna send it back to horizon tomorrow and have them service it. So for the next few weeks at least I'm without a UCD. Gonna have to fix the Sukhoi so I have something to fly.

Coo, very unfortunate. You may end up needing a UCD 'fix' in the mean time. I found that the techs have a very reasonable turn around time at Horizon. What I like best is a flat $25.00 service charge, regardless of weather they simply swap out a carb or rebuild the entire engine. Parts + $25.00 They also offer used parts at roughly 20% off new, not that you want used bearings, but in other areas the 20% comes in handy. Everything internal is relevant and may go beyond bearings, which are directly related to the cam gear lobes and tappets as well. Chin up and good luck, Joe

maidened mine today (with OS 91 surpass).I felt imediatly confident with the plane. One minut after take off I was hovering nicely. The 91 surpass is brand new and in the rich side, but already performing great in the plane.

Without any doubt the easiest airplane to hover I ever owned.

don't ask what hapened to my checkboards on the bottom of the wing. the plane arrived crushed and because of the extreme dificulties encountered to get this plane in belgium, instead of ordering and wait MONTHS for a new wing, I prefered to repair

in the cockpit this is a toy coming from a series called 'funy farm" I think (see last pic).

my 6 years old daughter is in charge of the choice of the pilots. My 3 daughters are already highly involved in modeling and this force me to somethime make curious color scheme.

Hey Fellows
I have been flying the U-CAN-DO's since they very first came out and I have a lot of flying time with both, the 60 and the 46, on the 60 I use a Webra 120 which is the best combo in the world for that plane, and the 46 the new saito 82 does very well,,,, But my question is this and Iv taken some photos so you can get what I'm trying to say, after all this time flying these birds, tonight I was changing out some stuff on one of my 60 size, and when I started setting up the wings, It just donged on me there isn't any place on the wings that tell you where center is and what I mean by that is, when you set the control services you always want both sides to match up perfectly, but there isn't any guide that tell me if the control service needs to be level with the wing from the bottom or level with the wing on top, I took some photos I hope they make since to you,,, Just in case the colors through you off I airbrush my on planes I take the skins off and give myself a clean white drawing service, so any help would be great... Thanks
Randy

p.s I tried to download some pictures but it just wouldnt let me, This is whta I did and tell me if I'm doing it right, I clicked on the Upload Files and when I loaded all the photos, and yes I made sure they were Gif, JPG, but it would wait about 5 secounds then a white page would come up the ones that you see when you go to a website and its not on yet, you just see this white page with a bunch of wriiting on it to tell you to try again but that's not it, I'm I doing something wrong???

Ok I asked my daughter, she said that it is one of winnie the pooh's best friend.

Now she asked me to take a close picture of the airplane inverted to see if the hears touch the canopy in inverted flight...........

I feel I will post that one
