hey guys,
i just did a maiden on my cap sunday.. it flys beautifully... its really a nice plane.. i got the moki 2.10 in it which had plenty of power and very reliable,. i have a couple of things that need to be adjusted on mine.. i need to shim the motor down just a hair and re-due the ball links i got on the tail.. mine weighs in at 14lb 1.0 oz so not bad... i got all s3305 servos in it 2 tail and 1 pull pull... this thing just floats in the air with the air breaks.. so smooth.. made it alot easier on the cross winds i had so that made it less nerve racking once i did my first landing... im still doing some trimming on mine so its not quite perfect yet so ones i make some of the adjustments i should be able to dial it in, in a few more flights... i put 3 flites on it so far,,, i also like the flex on the landing.. gives it a lil bounce..

Hi,
I am using a Roto 35 gasoline engine on the cap.
I checked the CG and notice that I have to install the rudder servo's in the back of the fuselage.
But I am afraid that it is very difficult to fine tune the working of both servo's. What is there is a sligth difference in response time ?
Is there someone who did it ? Can you please post a picture ?

I't fairly easy to install both rudder servos in the tail. I match my servos mechanically. I use analog servos (HS645's) and adjust the control rods lenght for zero servo hum (no feedback current). You may not eliminate all the hum all of the time but one can get very close. Another way is to use a current meter and adjust the rods for the lowest current. All you need is a servo extension modified to measure the positive wire in series with the DVM.
The easiest way is by using JR Matchboxes, or SmartFly Sevo Equailizer, but that's going to set you back a few bucks. Now, if you use digital servos you can use the Hitec digital servo programmer and servo tester, you can test any brand of transmitter for the pulse sent to the receiver and any servo for voltage and proper movement. Additionally it will allow you to program the functions for Hitec brand digital servos. If you use digital servos, you need this unit to maximize your investment.

do you think it is still possible, when using a gasoline engine, to put the rudder servo in the tray foreseen in the middle of the fuselage & play with the battery position to balance the plane ?
About the servo hum, I think the same occurs when using 2 servo's in the middle of the fuselage.

I'm in the process of converting mine over to a BCMA 40cc gasser and have moved the servos to the tail for the rudder. I thought, like you, that this would be very difficult to get them to throw equally but found that once you adjusted the control rods lengths so neither servo hummed they work great. Another reason for putting them back there is to get them away from the EI module and prevent glitching. Basically, if it didn't need to be that way, they wouldn't have gone to the trouble of making it that way. Good Luck!!!
