The weather was not too bad from the grandstands. There were small electrics flying so it was not too bad. Malcom Corbin had his electric one there and that flew well. They were all prophanging and torque rolling all over the place! I saw one witha a snapped fuz in the pits and I think one was retrieved from the other side of the runway in the concrete picinic area (deserted).

That wasnt prophang and TR, that was just turbulance comming off the grandstand lol
Me, i was on a big hill trying to stay upright while using every ounce of will-power to mentally force my Mamba out further in the wind.

yep all went well today, the snapped one was Stevie Munn the young lad in a weelchair, the motor stopped and he could not make it over the fence (read that hit the fence!)
wind was quite severe at times (it seams nice from the ground as you are sheltered by the grandstand) calm at 20 feet turbulent at 25 plus!!
I was also flying a fast speed 400 spitfire and that was a challenge in the conditions.
Capiches went very well (nexus sold out by 11 oc!!)
I was flying the red white and blue one

I was impressed with them too, but hey did not give me the feeling that i wanted to go out and buy one. Liked the elevators and harriers though, and thingamyjig(sorry) doing some great harrier rolls. Was most impressed with Phil's prophanging and torking- was really great in my opinion. They do seem to be the best budget 3d and artistic plane out there, but the bigger ones obviously better. CPLR had a lot less difficulty hovering his big stuff than the capficsh.(Made up an new one for all you spelling fanatics out there)
Was very funny to see malcolm corbin's body language on the flight line when he asked CPLR(who was flying his model) to do a low knife edge pass to round off the display. AS you can guess it was lower than malcolm intended!
Great so far can't wait till tomorow. Have really enjoyed it so far.

oh yeah woops forgot yeah alan, the conditions were really varible. 2 out of my 3 slots were nice but the other was dreadfull turbulence- very difficult and almosta as bad as ascot 2 years ago. Those little electrics were getting chucked around like anything!

How low did CPLR get? Oh, and while we're here, did any one manage to get a glimpse of the Synergy 140 3D? how was it? etc. etc. Did he have any other planes with him there?

Was well impressed with the display of the Catfish (?) sorry Capiche! Some really good hovering and TR in the gusty conditions. Gonna start building mine today!
By the way Robert, saw the Synergy 140 3D in its box all opened up, but not flying. Looks very nice but then saw the price tag and moved quickly away from the stand, while opposite sides of my brain started argueing about the whether to get it, sort of Homer Simpson Style! Unluckily, the sensible side won.....

From: JSY,
I see THE BOY aka Dave Stephens has made a lot of money from his Capshish design if he has a Mercedes and a Porsche.
Liked the FREESTYLE display at Sandown think it handeled the conditions better then the others.

CPLR flew his Synergy 140 3D numerous times at sandown. His dsiplays were great. It is capable of superb knife edge and pattern, and was great at low level 3d tumbles and torque rolls.
The one thing lacking from his flights was his landings. I think he broke 2 undercarriages(!) and after this, he complained to the organisers that the runway was too short. They promptly extended the length of the runway , only for cristophe to miss it completely on his next flight and land about ten metres short! Nice to see the best get it wrong sometimes! He had to resort to handlaunching his Synergy 140 and belly landing it. He also had his suxess biplane there, along with his majestic and synergy 90.

i was on the flight line all day, what "FREESTYLE" was that. if your talking about simon claytons freestyle then you obviously were not at sandown because he was not and there were not any of his freestyles.
As for the Synergy 140 it flew very well (he tore the undercart off on landing on saturday) but flew it without and belly landed it today. Christophe told me that it is better than his majestic and his majestic made its last flight today as he is going to retire it.

He can't retire the majestic, I'll have it! He will get his newer one for free anyway so what does it matter what happens to the old one. I'll keep it safe! If only...........
