The Extra 300S probably won't do a real flat spin, but it will get pretty close. The Magic may or may not, I have heard different things. I have never flown a Magic, but have gotten an Extra in one. I have heard of a Magic doing a climbing flat spin, but I'll have to see it to believe it!
Upright flat spin-
Fly along straight and level around 1/3 throttle. Now throw in full left aileron, rudder, and up elevator. After 2-3 spins S L O W L Y and I do mean S L O W L Y slide the aileron stick over to the other side (right aileron) and the spin should flatten out. Slowly increase the throttle while holding all control inputs.
Inverted flat spin-
You can enter it the same type of way as the upright spin, but this way usually works better. I have found inverted flat spins to be easier than upright on MOST of the airplanes I have flown.
Just point the nose straight down at idle. Do 3 left rolls and then pop full right rudder, left aileron (still holding it from the rolls), and down elevator. After 2-3 spins
S L O W L Y (Did I say SLOW?) move the aileron stick over (right aileron) and it should flatten out.
Things to try if it doesn't work-
Just try it again!
Try it at many different throttle settings. Some like an idle, some like 1/19 throttle, and some like full! You have to experiment.
Move your CG back.
Turn up your throws! Rudder and Elevator need to be way up there, especially on that Magic.
If it spins out when you move the aileron stick over, don't move it as far. Just move it until it get's flat. You might need to turn the aileron throw down.
If the aileron stick makes no difference, turn the throw up.
Have at it!

On most of the airplane I have flown I've found that the way you enter the initial spin does not make much of a difference...If it won't go into a spin from any attitude, the airplane is not going to flat spin anyway.
I guess it would be better to start the spin nose down so it's falling vertically instead of moving forard a little, so stalling it out first would be better....
You just gotta try everything!

The magic will do great upright flat spins.
The CG needs to be pretty far back to do it. Mine is around 5 1/4 from the leading edge. If when you bring it into a spin with full up elevator, half to ful throttle, and the nose is still down, it is nose heavy. Be carefull of tail heavy, getting back out of a flat spin can be hard if it is too far back. a very small change in CG can make a big difference in how the plane behaves.

My Magic is a hoot. BotleRocketWar gave one good way. Here is another VERY EASY WAY to do the inverted flat spin. Take the plane straight vertical, go up a ways. Back off the throttle to idle. Just before it starts sliding backwards, take the rudder/throttle stick to the lower right corner and put the ele/aileron stick in the upper left corner.
At this point you are full down elevator, full left aileron, full right rudder and NO throttle . This will start the inverted spin. Let it go for a couple of revolutions then make it flat.
To make it a FLAT spin, start adding throttle AND creeping the ailerons over to the other side . How much throttle and opposite aileron is up to you and the plane. Leave the rudder all the way right and the elevator shoved forward. If it is capable of a flat spin, it will flatten out nicely with opposite aileron and the addition of some throttle.
I have a planes that will flat spin like crazy doing exactly this. Some will enter in many other ways, but this way will work for most anything capable. The magic will spin tightly and sometimes just ball up into a slowly descending tumple. It's kind of cool.

The Magic does about the best flatspin of any plane I have had.
Mine will only flatspin at idle or high idle, any throttle and it pops out of the spin.
One more trick. Once you get the upright flatspin going, slide the elevator from up to neutral or even down. You'll be surpised to see it spin even faster

Could be as the throttle goes up the given aileron is too much. I'll try backing off the aileron as I come up on the throttle. Never thought of that
Thanks

If you are asking me about the flatspin here is a no brainer way MY Magic will enter a flatspin every time.
1) Up high at idle flying slow (if you stall that's fine) put both sticks in the bottom left corners. The plane will be spinning but not flat.
2) Slowly slide the right stick to the right until the spin becomes flat. Idle or high idle speed the whole time.
This is a classic flatspin entry and works every time with my Magic.

geoharry, from what I have seen you can never have too much rudder or elevator when doing flat spins, but its easy to over do the ailerons.

Different planes come out "differently". Since you are flying a pizazz I would just fly it out. Very little altitude loss this way. Full throttle if not there already, neutral the aileorns and try timing letting off the rudder just before you let off the elevator. If inverted do a half roll after you get out and you are done.
Some require that the nose of the plane be dropped by reversing the rudder and/or elevator and then gaining a little speed before pulling out. (Don't try this low)
The pizazz is capable of doing a beutiful inverted flat spin while using full up elevator. Never have figured this one out or found anybody that can explain it to me.

hey i was wondering if you need to use ailerons to do a flat spin????? cause when i put both them to the bottom lefts and then slide the aileron over to the opposite side it doesnt turn flat and then i try not using any alerons at all then it makes a better slower spin but it doesnt turn flat???
PS: (How do u get them flat like Quique)
flat as a pancake??

Yes, you need ailerons. How much depends on your plane and throws.
Is it the tail that is not coming down far enough to make it flat or are the wings not level.
If the tail isn't coming down flat try adding some more elevator throw. I use 50 degrees on my Edge and it is perfectly flat at a little less than 1/4 throttle. You will probably need a lot more throttle on yours though b/c your thrust to weight ratio is probably not going to be anywhere near what mine is on your .40 sized airplane.
I also usually always keep my aileron almost all the way in the corner. Just have to watch the plane and see if it needs a little more or less depending on how level the wings are.
