Did a bit of flying today. Enjoyed it a bunch. Had some nice flights and a VERY low pass on one. Not gjeffers like...but low for me.The Do flew great. Love that plane.
Hope to get out tomorrow as well.
Thanks
Barry

Well, I joined the new club. I think it's going to work out fine. I flew on Thursday and the guys there were real nice and helpfull.
On my first flight with the Do I was flipping and twisting it around doing the usuall stuff and then when I brought it in for a landing the tail looked weird. I swiveled it around to find that the rudder had just about fallen off. Come to find out the top 2 CA hinges broke completely off and the bottom one was barely hanging on. One of the guys there was real nice to give me some new hinges, some CA, and a hobby knife to fix it. Got it back up flying in no time. [8D]

Do you guys actually put the U-Can-Do 3d stickers on your plane. I wonder if I might could spell something else with whats there

BradSD... I put some of the "Do" stickers on... It's not to bad... You can see it on page 179
post 4452... But most the time I leave all off... Just hate the planes that already have them on...

A little humor here but how about "CAN-U-DO 3D ?" and add the question mark. I am sure that would get a few odd looks and maybe even the "Hey you put that sticker on wrong" comment. Thanks for the offer rclement I will take you up on that when I get closer to putting one together.

I usually just put "3D" on the tail. Sometimes I use the small ucd3d sticker and put it on somewhere. Sometimes I put "Do 3D" on it somewhere and sometimes I put it on upside down so that people wonder and so I can read it while doing a low inverted pass and remember which plane I'm flying. Thanks

Flew the 46 today. This is the first time I flew it with my new radio. Wonderful. I hadn't flown this bird in a while and it just reminded my of why I love these planes. They are so FUN to fly. Did some excellent blenders, hovers, waterfalls, and such. Just had a great time. Man...it was hot. Got up to almost 80 before I left. Flew a lot. The 46 is truly a great plane. Just so nice.
Thanks

Oh...The 82 fired up on the first flip after a substansial lay off. Pretty neat engine and just the right amount of power for the 46. Well...most of the time.
Thanks

90???? Wow!I don't fly with my sons but do other things. It is one of my greatest joys, spending time wth them.
Maybe someday they come into the RC world.
Glad you had a great day.
Thanks

I've also grown to love flying alone. It gives me peace. I don't have to worry that I might be in someone else's way, I can fly over the pits if I want (to expand our field) and I enjoy the serenity. I guess most of my flights are by myself. But I do enjoy the conversation when others show up. So...I guess it's Joy, Joy, Joy, all over again.
Thanks

Oh, I almost forgot. At the field yesterday was a guy with a 50CC Yak. 87" wing span, about 16lbs. He was a good pilot. I hadn't seen a plane this big before and a pilot that knew how to fly. It was sweet. It appeared to be a bit underpowered yet he swears when in California the plane was balistic. He said he couldn't figure our what was wrong with the plane, then I reminded him he was at 4800' elevation. He said, Oh, it makes that much difference? I said Yeah.....This is another case of why people seemingly overpower their planes. At my elevation or where it is very hot, the overpowered engines are just barely enough.
Anyways, it was great fun watching that big airplane. He could almost hold a hover but not quite. But KE and blenders were very cool but he couldn't even begin to make the spins rise.
Pretty neat plane. I hope my gas one has more power than his. My plane will only be about 13 lbs so that'll help a lot. It just goes to show ya that you can get away with a lot at sea level that you can't do up here in thin air. Wheel pants, a hatch latch, an extra big battery, a painted canopy, a pilot figure, decals, are all pretty cool to the valley people but us mountain men must watch every single little thing to keep the wait off. Why I've even started flying naked to keep the weight down.
Thanks
Barry

WoW Barry... At 105 here... It seems cool
The heat this year has really taken it's toll on me..... So my flying time has been
down quite a bit... Summer here means an M.T. field pretty much except for maybe
3-5 flyers.... Went out yesterday with the S.T. and had a great day!!! It stayed cool
(below 105) and windless pretty much.....
Gary... flying with the "Family" is great... I had the grandkid's going for a while, also
the daughters and son-in-law.... Great times!!!
