O.S FS120S-E for a 3D airplane?

Hi all,
I need some help here. I have a O.S FS120S-E, i´m looking for a 3d trainer ARF airplane for this engine, What airplane do you recomend?
I´ve never fly 3d, only on Real Flight. LoL...

If I was going to pick an engine that weighs 33oz for 3D, it's be a YS1.40, Saito 1.80, or a 120AX.
That said you can 3D with that engine on the right airframe. If it must be an ARF, your choices are very limited.
The Fusion from OMP would be one I would choose. It's a great flyer that excels at 3D and is decent at pattern.

Hi, thanks for the answer, the thing is that i bought that engine for a scale project but i never finished it, now i´m interest in 3D.
I would´n like to sell my O.S that´s why i´m looking a plane for this engine. I was thinking some scale airplane, I hope i can find it.

Another question about it? Is there a table that indicates the proportion between engine and airframe weight?, or if i have an engine with 1.9 bhp and 33oz, what airplane do i have to choose to 3d according to this weight?

I've got the OS 120 Surpass III, basically the later version of yours. It has just a couple tenths hp more than yours, but also weighs couple ounces more. I am having lots of fun with it powering a Yak-54 with 950 sq in of wing area and the plane weighs about 9 pounds 3 ounces. It has the power to weight ratio and wing loading making it fly very light and 3D capable but not overly so. I'm saying more power would be better, but it is still fun to be able to do some 3D with it. So I am suggesting that you find an airframe with this kind of wing area and AUW to be able to 3D. Less area, higher weight, etc, and pretty soon the 3D plane turns into a nice IMAC/sport pattern plane with that engine. I'm not even mentioning the brand of my plane because it is not available anymore, so it's pointless. Good luck. Jon

I don't know why they even publish HP numbers. They are irrelevant. You want around 2:1 thrust/weight ratio.
If you have a 7lb airframe, you need around 14lb thrust to have fun.

when you say that the plane weighs 9 pounds 3 ounces, that´s only the airframe or the plane with electronic?

NO, that is the all up total weight, with engine, everything! Not fueled though, of course. Take a look at this link for a plane that might have potential for you, if the weight of the plane is light like mine. This has the wing area you need. The weight for the plane is not shown. You can ask them for it. Looks lightweight in pics, haha! Jon
