Nice looking pics tech. I've heard of people wrapping their tanks with strapping tape. Does that really work? Are you using a YS engine, or a regulator?

RE: can u

Don't know if the strapping tape is a cure-all but I got it from a suggestion on this thread. (I think) I'm using a YS-110. I also put the bag in a Zip-Loc freezer bag poking the lines thru it. Kinda hoping if a get a leak that it may help minimize the damage.

RE: can u

Inwoods list them. I suggest emailing/phoning to check whether in stock or not.

http://www.inwoodmodels.co.uk.html

Also I think Slough Radio Control had them, though it is not on their website.

http://www.srcm.co.uk/

Otherwise just phone around the usual suspects: Sussex Model Centre, Als Hobbies, etc. I'm sure someone has one in stock.

Hi Lee,
Try Sussex Models or Inwood Models they list U Can Do on their Web site.

Cheers

RE: can u

hey all i have a u can do 3d with an os 91 four stroke.
i came across a check valve at tower hobbies and wondering if this would do anything.
i will be setting my tank on the cg just like I&amp tech.
i am not running a pump because i don't want to spend any more money on this thing.
the link to the check valve is right here

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXG869&P=0

will this help out keeping pressure in the tank????
thank you all for your concern.

RE: can u

You cannot use a check valve without a regulator of some kind. Others have posted of several brands of regs.

james yeram 11-11-2003 07:46 PM

RE: can u

ok what would it do without a regulator.
i was in the understanding that the check valve will prevent pressure from leaving the tank and to prevent fuel from going into the engine while fueling.
please help me understand.

I'm putting an OS 50 on my U CAN DO 3D 46, what size prop do I need for hovering?

RE: UCD

You can't use a checkvalve without a regulator because without the regulator to control fuel flow there would be too much fuel coming into the carb. You'd never get a consistant idle.

james yeram 11-11-2003 08:56 PM

RE: UCD

haha
thanks i was thinking along the lines of to much fuel flow.
and then i thought regulator and what is its use????
and then it clicked.
thanks a bunch:D

I don't own a 91 FS, but my hunch would be that those props might be just a tad too much. however I could be wrong. I've heard some people complain about slow spool-up time on a Saito 100 and a 16x4W prop, so it would probably be even a little slower on the OS. I would think the APC 15x4W might be a better choice, but someone here might be able to provide you with better info. If those props are a bit large, you could try running more nitro. Let us know what kind of results you get.

Hi I use a 15X4 on the .91 surpass and it works good but the pull out is a little slow from a hover
the 15X6 pulls out faster but for me it is harder to get it just hang there.

RE: UCD

This week my friend and I were flying our 60 size UCANDO with Saito100's. My engine quit due to pressure fitting blowing out. I turned into the wind but unable to make the runway. Airplane was very slow on touch down in grass. Gear popped right out.

Next flight by my friend and on a very gentle landing his gear popped out. Both airplanes had wing damage due to wheel pants sticking into covering. Our gear had been hot glued in. It appears it is very weak in this area. Flies very well.

My two cents worth.
Thanks

Not unless you run a wire from your motor to the undercarriage:D
