I'm in the process of building my showtime 90. I'm using a Saito 100 (had it from a previous plane, hopefully has enough power), and Hitech HS-5625MG's for all surfaces. I'm trying to figure out what size horns I'm going to need. The manual lists JR part numbers, but all I've found thus far are pictures of them on the web. No dimensions. Any recommendations?

We used the Dubro heavy duty and they worked fine. You can see whats left of a few on the picture. LOL

I think I will slap a ys110 in mine. I have a saito 120 and it is a dog.....especially @ 5000asl

Will the stock tank work?

If not what are the best options, is there a tank you can swap out with no mods? I know tetra makes a good tank..........is there a model that fits?

You can use the stock tank with the Y.S., just do yourself a favor and wrap it in reinforced packing tape, (the kind with the strands).

Dubro's heavy duty control horns are GREAT for this plane. They are very strong and priced in such a manner that it won't break the bank to get 3D throws from your plane.

I have seen many people ask if an Os 91 Fx would be a good fit for this plane and never noticed any one answering....I have this motor ready for a plane. So how about it.

My Showtime has been history for a long time now, but being the Mixmaster, I wonder if anyone has tried elev-aileron mix to help with the snapping issues?

Here you go. I was playing with airbrakes on a windy day and look what happened. It is back in the air now. Using OS120AX. I have been using flap - elev mixing and it does help the snap-happy tendencies. One key to avoiding the snap is to keep some power on while making sharp turns. It behaves much better with power on than off.

Yep. I also was experimenting with a little left rudder when applying elevator, that seemed to make a difference too, too late now, its gone & I like bigger planes now, its true they handle 3-d better.

I have had my showtime some time now, YS 110 , Hitech 5645 servos, I fly mostly aerobatic not 3D. Has anyone tried putting wing adjusters in place to adjust the wing incidence. The idea is to install them through the hole that the anti-rotation pins use, The hole that the wing bolt goes through would have to be elongated slightly to allow the wing to rotate. Any opinions

To have it fly absolutely perfect. In aerobatic flying you want the plane to fly as true as it can without any imputs from the pilot. You dont want to have to make corrections while trying to complete a manuver. I doubt that the manufacturer produces every plane 100% accurate.

Hi JPal101 , So have you adjusted the incidence in your SHowtime? I had to reset one of my stabs to get it into line with the rest of the airframe, but haven't had a chance to fly it yet. Do you have a theory one way or the other about adjusting it??

hey guys, i hav an OS FS120 SurpassIII siting here and was wondering what ya all think bout using it on the showtime, could this combo handle hovers and be able to pull out of them?,
i´m looking for a 3d plane for this engine and im very curious bout the showtime
I saw the RCUreview of the showtime in wich they used the same engine, and the video looked impressive

The 120 surpass is what I now have in mine. I had a saito 100 in it first . the 120 is much better and will do any thing you want the ST to do . great combo

hey govertical thx for the reply now i'm more confident on going with this combo (showtime + OS FS 120 III, i like to be specific with what im talking about.... thats why i keep repeating the model of engine, airplane, etc jeje i know anoying..) and i'll order a ST ASP!!!!, i was wondering hows the 16x4w APC for 3D flying on the ST with the OS FS120. when i get my ST i'll test the 16x6 APC as well and compare em both, hopefully will post here the results.

the 120surpass that i have on mine is one of the first ones out the pump is gear driven. A 16x4 seems to do the best,I tried a 16x6 the plane was fast but i think the 4 is the better choice for doing 3D . Good luck with yours I like mine

Hey, everyone. I've had my Showtime for a couple of weeks now...flies on rails, and it's pretty good-lookin' too. I would recommend that the landing block be beefed up somehow. I was wondering if there were any gas engines out there light enough for the plane. I'm starting to get annoyed with the greasy exhaust, and I think a Showtime with a smoke system would be pretty sweet.:D

I didn't read the whole thread, but I read on this page that some people had issues with their Showtimes "snapping" or something similar. I've got a simple solution for this if anyone's interested...

OK, I'll bite; let's hear your solution to the snapping problem.

Dick Hanson in his magazine review of the Showtime installed an Evolution 26GT along with a tuned pipe assembly. He is an (the) expert in setting up lightweight gassers with a matching exhaust system. Hopefully he will tune in here, but in a nutshell he thought it was a success. The wing loading was obviously higher, but the power was great. Paraphrasing his comment: the weight difference was noticeable, slow speeds brought mushier controls more quickly, but control is still maintained. Look up his article in 3D Flyer Magazine January/February 2006 issue for the full story.

Right, well, I must've bought a "good" Showtime 90, because my plane doesn't really do the snapping thing, but my Showtime 50...holy crap. Everytime I wanted to pull up, it wanted to snap into the ground. It made 3D really difficult. Anyways, what you wanna do is pick up some replacement wing droops from Hangar 9's PTS Mustang. Then you attach 'em near the Showtime's wingtips using clear Ultracote or tape (my method). There really isn't any precision involving this. Just slap it on and go fly. Despite the fact that these things are "training wheels" it doesn't seem to affect aerobatic ability, and they're invisible in the air. I can still flatspin and do inverted harriers. I'm gonna try them on my ST90 just for the heck of it. $5 piece of plastic saved my $200 plane.

About the Evolution 26 gasser...I was thinking along the lines of a BCMA 26. The Evolution is kinda expensive, but I guess I still want to know about it. Here's some pics...

I had the BCMA 26 in mine as well. There was a video of me hovering it a couple feet off the ground somewhere, not sure if it's still around.
