Showtime
We have are Showtime and my son is in the basement right now putting it together. It's a great looking plane, I hope it fly's as good as it looks. I'll let you know how it goes.

RE: Showtime
Can you take any videos of it? and what are you going to use for an engine?

RE: Showtime
Pat ... show us the PICS!!!

RE: Showtime
PICS PICS PICS!!!!!!!!:D
I would first make sure that you can fit out of the basement:D |
RE: Showtime
:)how? where?
Thanks, Barry |
RE: Showtime
Not sure about the engine at this time. I find it hard to believe that a Satio 100 will do a very good job 3D. Maybe a 1.35 Moki, OS 1.08. There are no YS 110's at this time, I have a YS 120 on another plane that should work well, but I hate to take it off.

THe YS 1.20 should do well[8D] |
RE: Showtime
Saito 1.80 :D
|
RE: Showtime
Laugh Saito 100.....Try a Moki 1.8. No I'm not kidding. Use what ya got.

RE: Showtime
:)What color is the underside of this plane. Seems they have been very careful not to show the bottom. Maybe the bottom isn't covered!?!?!?
Thanks, Barry PS: Give us some heads up on the weights of things also. |
RE: Showtime
Well, the showtime has an engine and it's mounted. It's a Moki 1.80, I think cooling is going to be a problem. The Moki fills the engine bay for the most part.

RE: Showtime
Pics, what do you need pics for, you can get them off the Horizon web site.
Details, download the manual, its full of them. What we need is an honest to God, take it to the bank, no BS weight. Before any "that looks weak for my flying style" structural reinforcements are added and before any "my wallet is bigger than yours so I'm buying these megabuck light parts" are added. Then we can figure out what engine its gonna need to make it fly right. Ed M. |
RE: Showtime
Ok, here are the weights I have so far.

RE: Showtime
:)Great information! Thank you. With my engine and radion set up it will add about 2.75lbs so AUW less fuel should be approximately 8.5lbs. That's pretty good. I feel anything under 9lbs is great. What color is the underside?
Thanks, Barry |
RE: Showtime
The under side of the wings is purple with a yellow curve strip. Same thing on the elev. and stab. The fuselage is white.

RE: Showtime
:)dilled. Thanks for the info. Question: I recalculated my assoc. equipment as follows:
5- Servos 2.11 x5 = 10.55 1- Mini servo .75 Battery 4.00 Engine 27.00 Receiver 1.25 Prop hub 1.00 Prop (estimate) 16x6 APC 2.50 Servo leads 2.00 Misc 3.00 Total 52.05oz/16 = 3.25 lbs 3.25 5.54 8.8 lbs or 8lbs 12.8 ozs. Not quite as good as I hoped. But still not to bad. Does your above weights include the fuel tank? What am I forgetting? Thanks, Barry |
RE: Showtime
I have a real strong running OS 1.08 that will pull a Goldberg Ultimate out of sight from hanging on the prop, might be a good combo...thoughts please!

RE: Showtime
How do you think this plane will compare to the Funtana 90? Will the showtime 4d 90 be as easy to fly? I'm almost at the point of ordering the the Funtana, but the last thing I want is for people to say - 'Ohh, you should have bought a Showtime......'
Most of the guys on the Funtana thread are preferring 4stoke engines, but I'm assuming if I went with a Moki, vertical performance wouldn't be compromised? |
RE: Showtime
Just posting again to make sure I set the 'email' notification correctly - my last post was a quick reply. Spot the noob!;)

RE: Showtime
:)Hopefully this will be a lot better than the Funtana 90. That is not a good plane nor is it easy to fly.
Thanks, Barry |

ORIGINAL: Barry Cazier :)Hopefully this will be a lot better than the Funtana 90. That is not a good plane nor is it easy to fly. Thanks, Barry I've been looking at the Moki 1.35 and the specs look very good. I admit I'm more confident with 2 strokes than 4 strokes. |

Here is few pictures. The ShowTime looks like a pattern plane. Its' 69" from tip of spinner to tip of rudder. The wing panels are 30" long by18" root at the fuselage and 8" root at the tip. The fuselage is less then 7" wide at the widest point.

RE: Showtime
Thats a hot looking machine. I wonder how a Saito 150 would do. Might have to consider pulling the gear out of the F90 someday and putting together one of these babys..
