No I'm either a member or a potential member, period. When are you guys going to realize that this is RCUniverse.com?????
Oh, we realize that this is RCUniverse.com, but the topic of discussion is geared to and around the AMA. The AMA is an entity in which you must hold membership to have relavency. By posting your AMA number, you are showing your bona-fides that you are in fact a member, and have a real voice in what is going on within the Academy of Model Aeronautics. Without that membership, you are just a bloody cipher, and in this case the cipher is a zero.

Bill, AMA 4720
and by going to the AMA website and plugging that number in, you can find out who the heck I am, and that I am an open member in good standing.

The AMA site requires both AMA # and last name to check status.

And in your case, we have neither.

I fully realize that this is a forum that is part of RCU. This forum was set up to discuss the AMA and any issue's related to the AMA. It just seems a bit odd to me that someone who might not be a voting member of the AMA would be so critical of an AMA member that is running for an office in the AMA, in an RCU forum, unless that person has another agenda in mind. I have always been taught that if you are not going to vote, then you do not have the right to gripe. Dave
OK David ... you've been around RCU for quite sometime. Do you question the motives of everyone that chats in the jet forum as well? Do you need to own a jet to inquire about them these days on RCU? Was that forum setup to issues related to jets? Also since when does this forum have to deal with issues only ... it's also open to this thing called "discussion" as well.

Also 99.5% of the population is not a member of the AMA and at least 99% of the population is a member of RCUniverse.com. That leaves a rather large market share for the owners of RCU and Hearst Media. I'm sure those guys wouldn't appreciate their mods telling participants of RCU that their members are "odd" if they don't own or are not tied directly to each and every discussion forum ... and telling them they have an agenda on top of it.

Would wanting an AMA banner flying on your Hobby Quest Partners web page http://www.thehobbyquest.com/partners.htm have anything to do with your defending of the AMA no matter if they are right or wrong?

On another note, I would venture to say that having Hoss elected to the AMA team would lessen your chances of the above happening even more than it is now.

Ron

EDIT....so stl can comprehend it a little better

I know that you've always believed that I've had some kind of interests in the AMA .... but now you've really shown why and how your mind really works. No where on the partners page does it mention the AMA and it never has. No agendas here Ron.

Ron,

That sounds as if you believe that Horrace would use his power of office to pull support from someone who didn't agree with him on this message board.

Is that what you meant to say? If so then I think you've done Horace a disservice. Even with my disagreements with him such a thing would not have crossed my mind.

STL has stated in several threads that he is not a member of the AMA.
He's here to stir up the pot and does a very good job of it. If you say the sky is blue, he'll say it's green just to start something.
You'll finally tire of the whole STL thing and ingnore his comments. IMHO, he writes his responses to get a reaction from the posters on AMA forum.
Give him time, he'll eventually get banned like ET.
BRG,
Jon

Really, you're wrong about that too. Never been banned from that site and they always love a good debate.

Twist it? You said there was an AMA banner flying at THQ. I guess there isn't, so no twists, that just makes you a liar.

You know exactly what I'm talking about... You would love to have their banner (ama) on your page.
I'll go fix it so you can comprehend it I suppose

Never said ya was, just VERY unwelcome there. If ya ever get a chance, go over there and read the 3 or 4 pages they have about you under the "Poop Bucket" folder.

Ron,

I'm not trying to twist anything. That's why I said "is that what you meant......." I was looking for clarification, for Pete's sake, and my comment actually was SUPPORTIVE of Horace in this case.

Yep, I figured that out as soon as I read it. Not a problem there.

Dion,

I'll make it so simple that even you can't misunderstand it, or twist it. Are you a member of the AMA?

A simple yes or no will suffice. You don't need to go into anything elaborate here.

Moderator Note:
I had to remove several posts in this thread. If a post of yours is missing it was because it was involved with a discussion based on the original post that I removed. I apologize that I didn't notify everybody individually, but there were too many posts removed. So I am notifying everybody involved here with this post.

I'd LOVE to answer this question ... however ... I can only answer this question without knowing at least ....

1. You're social security number.
2. You're checking account number
3. The amount (in USD) you have in your checking account.

Sounds kind of silly to be asking you 3 questions ... to your question ... but just going along with the new and improved system we have going here in the "AMA" official forums.

STL, I will not speculate how many times you have been told that as a mod, I am entitled to my thoughts and as long as I am in compliance with the posting rules of RCU, I, along with all the other mods here on RCU can post our thoughts. You have taken what I said and spun it to suit your needs once again. Where in my statement did I accuse you of being odd? Please allow me to rephrase what I said. Why does a person that does not support an organization, such as the AMA, by being a paid member, hold that organization in the heavens and defend it by telling anyone that thinks a change is needed, they are all wet? I am thinking that debating the issue's is one thing, trying to derail the train is another. For the record, I have already chatted with RCKen about this thread and he has been closely monitoring it and I will add the disclaimer to this post:

These views are mine and are not in any manner shape or form, the views of RCU. Dave

Believe me David I'm all for mods speaking their mind ... god bless them. But you should at least give others the courtesy to allow the threads, at the very least, to run on course, you know ... lead by design.

If you want to debate me ... go for it, start a thread and ask me what you need to know about me .... it's your stage too, give it your best shot. But keep in mind, I never pulled up a soap box and shouted "fire away" like Hoss did. Hoss said he would not answer my questions in his personal agenda forum, perhaps he would jump in here and fire away.

And as you can see, as per his pre-reqs, nobody is jumping out of their chairs to give up their personal information, only to receive an answer to a question. But I am looking forward to Hoss answering the first question that someone does not post their 3 special requirements. I bet that question will be the one Hoss will look forward to answering. It's coming .... sure as the sun shines.

Oh and in regards to your question ....

Why does a person that does not support an organization, such as the AMA, by being a paid member, hold that organization in the heavens and defend it by telling anyone that thinks a change is needed, they are all wet?
I don't know.

Now back to the subject please!
