You're a pretty good example of what a drama queen is. Who said he has to buy or operate a computer? Cripes, solve your problem in 30 seconds rather than whining, complaining, moaning, and generally trying to make a stink. You've got a computer - - take 30 seconds and create a Yahoo address.
It's just not that hard.
It's just not that hard.
Somebody sets up yahoo account for the old guy,
Muncie sends all the Safety stuff that is too important to wait to be published in MA,
and it sits in a black SMTP/POP hole in the internet because the old guy never actually checks that account at the library.
Muncie thinks it got the info out, but how many weeks will go by with that mail unread?
Is it that hard for Muncie to figure out
that if there is no email address for the SO, use the Pres email address
.... oh, look at post #16. Apparently it is not too difficult for muncie to figure out how to email the club after all.
I would guess that if me & 3 other club members were flying at the club,
and there was an accident,
we would call the 800 number with our cell phones to get step by step instructions
rather than wait till after the trip to the hospital to drive to the library the next day or two to send an email.... and camp out at he library just in case they emailed that yahoo address back at some point.
The really simple solution is to get a yahoo address for THE CLUB,
and list that one address for all officers [8D]

What's amusing is that so many people think this is a stupid requirement, but then you see many of the same people up in arms because the AMA does not send out notifications about important items like FAA issued TFRs and so on.

The AMA SHOULD be using electronic means to notify clubs of any issues that may affect them, such as the restrictions which surrounded the national conventions that were reported here several months ago.
But to hold up a charter because of lack of email address is ridiculous.

The Safety Officer also is to report incidents/accidents that occur. And as was already mentioned, to get major accident info to the AMA as soon as possible. All of this can be done on a computer in 1 minute! It IS a good idea.

To hold up a club charter because someone doesn't just makes no sense. A LOT of good ideas get royally screwed up in implementation.

And it's just another avenue for info. Some of you are so hung up on theoreticals that you can't actually take care of simple business. How do you actually function in daily life?

This is much ado about nothing.

No it is something. It's the idea that they have to have some sort of email addy for us to be a club. Heck, the irs doesn't even make you have an email addy. The FCC sure didn't require me to have an email addy to get my General Ticket awhile back, an they are a really picky bunch....
Some of you Sheeple here enjoy being ordered around, but I don't.
What the heck did they do before computers was around. Nobodys answered that yet.....
Them fools sit up there an come up with some of the stupidest BS I have ever seen. Glad I'll be through with'em starting next year.

What did they do before telephones? Nobody answers that! What about before mail service? Nobody answers that! What the heck did they do before spoken language? Nobody answers that!
Ask a stupid question... and sometimes nobody answers you.

Gosh, maybe by phone or by mail? And wait - - do they really need both? And how dare - - how dare - - they say they want to have yet another avenue of communication available?!
Good grief. You know, I saw something today about some nutjob in West Virginia that wants to ban Barbie dolls from the state. I thought that would be the dumbest thing I'd see today, but I was wrong!

Seems we all have PCs or we wouldn't be posting on this forum.
It's a requirement for the SO. That's how it is. It's really no big deal or stupid. It's just the way it is. I'd like to know what club does not have at least one member without a valid email address. I'll bet a cold Coke there isn't one.

Has there been a term coined yet for the type of people who think EVERYBODY needs to be up to speed electronically?
I've had people actually chew me out for not having an answering machine.
Same goes for not having email set up.
Anyway, I think those who believe that we all should be accessible 24/7 via the internet shall from this day forward be known as TECHNO-FASCISTS.
BTW, the over use of the term "24/7" is a dead give away that you're in the presense of a "TF"

It seems to me you were the one who AMA wasn't getting $88.00. I guess you needed AMA more than you thought.

No, I tell ya what mr Einstein...Our little club is down to 5 members since a couple have died an a couple have moved an 1 lost interest. If I wouldn't have stayed in, they wouldn't be able to get their charter renewed due to not enough members. Thats the only D*** reason I sent them the 58 bucks. Besides, why don't you get off my butt ol' buddy.

Ron, that was good of you to "ante up" for the sake of the club.
Any minute now I expect MikeL to chime in saying that you could have solved the problem by extending the dead guy's mamberships.
Any minute now I expect the Warden to come through here and put everybody on house arrest.

Hey Frank I was wondering the same thing, but don't you think out of 2400 some clubs there has got to be one that has only 5 or 6 members and no one has email? Maybe not, but I sure would like to win that cold Coke you bet. To bad the AMA would never share that info.

Thanx CP... Next year we are probably gonna drop the charter deal an just pay the 58 bux like I said a few posts back. I'll just fly on my house ins. heck its more or less out in the middle of nowhere here in the Ozarks where we fly anyway. The ama needs me a lot worse than I need them.
