I didn't have any warped surfaces; it all went together fine. And yes, the wheels are too small and the retracts are too wobbly, but I do fly off grass, so it can be done if the grass isn't more than a 2-3 inches tall. I was thinking about making the wheel wells bigger like the World Models warbirds where they are wood-type cutouts instead of glue-in plastic wheel wells. It would probably give you another 1/2-3/4 inch for bigger wheels. Maybe someday.
Good to see your planes again, rcjake. Nice.

. The plane went to gether nice but for $200.00 I didn't expect a set of nice retracts.

Hey Yard Dart, I may be coming your way next month. A guy wants an amateur built aircraft recertified. I might still have the location of your flying field in an old message. [8D]

Just checking Hobby People's website for retracts and although guys here have been saying the P-47 comes with Magnum .40 size retracts Hobby People lists two different part numbers and prices for the Magnum retracts and Modeltech P-47 retracts. The Modeltechs cost 50% more:
237940 Magnum Retract Gear, Mech. 40 Size Mains 19.99
120203 Modeltech Retract Set - P-47 ARF 60 30.00
FWIW..............

planenutt,
I installed a Robart retractable tailwheel in my Jug (when I owned it!) and it worked great. Another servo was installed behind the others in the fuse to retract the tailwheel (via Dave Brown glass pushrod) and flex cable attached to the rudder servo for steering. It took me about 8 hours to figure it out the installation, get it installed and adjusted correctly.
The Jug still looks great on those low fly-bys with all of the gear sucked up! My friend that bought my P-47 lets me fly it whenever I want...he knows that I really didn't want to sell it, but I hate to see a grown may beg & cry...

Good luck on your P-47 Kmot ! I ran the engine with the 3 blade prop a couple times on the ground before I put on the four blade to fly.

Spell check will correct but I think it is wrong so I change it back
