Another colofull and creative solution to one of lifes little problems by the lord himself.
Matt, checked my low end setting, its at 1 3/4 turns out. Don't know if this will help or hinder. Best bet is to follow procedure. In the event that you choose this setting, make sure that the throttle is fully closed before turning the low end screw in. By closeing the throttle it will ensure that the screw finds the true bottom. If the throttle is open the screw will travel further in and will not result in an acurate setting. Keep me posted, joe

Joe, Yeah I'm running the 100, so both plates it is!! Wish I knew how to post the photos so I could show you how cool the ball links came out with the carbon pushrods. Thanks, Brian..

Matt, Glad you got it, I get worried about the mail sometimes.

Dave, How you doing buddy?? Anymore flight reports on your UCD?? How about the progress on the Cyclone?? I picked up a Sig King Cobra so I'm messing around with that too. Gotta have something fast!!!

JW, Sorry I made a mistake the one I got was a Model 36, not a 37. I'm trying to sell my Model 30 now so I can get a Model 21C. Got top keep in shape don't ya know....

Get a YS 110 and you will not have to worry about regulators and how long the fuel tubing is.
Sounds like this is a main issue with these inverted Saitos. My YS is an animal on this airplane.
Just my thoughts!

Brian, its only an issue when moving the tank to the CG. Saitos run fine inverted or otherwise. A YS110 would be much appreciated, but I have to live with my purchase for now. Two years old and still running strong, even on an occasional dirt diet. Joe

Careful Brian.....Joe May think that you are me ......in cogneto[sm=lol.gif]....I also run the ys110 and couldn't be happier......it's a perfict combo for this plane...but in defence of the Saito I have a 120 that is a stump puller......Father Joe Please forgive me ....even though you opted to buy the Saito over the ys ...we still love you man,.....LOL..[sm=thumbup.gif].....JW

JW..
Your just trying to wind me up.....or are you ?...do we need to put this UCD / trainer thing to the "Minister of aviation"..... The Idea was for Peter to COMPLETLY build and fly his next project ...not me build & him saunter out to the field with his TX & buddy lead ....its getting to the stage wher i need a team of Sherpa's to lug all the kit about....and hers another one ...how ...or in what ...do you transport all these UCD's about ..... i was really struggling at the w/end .....two flight boxes ..fuel... fuzes... wing bag's ..never thought about all the logistics of all this.[:@].....do they do an A8 estate Joe..?

Dave, the wagon is quite smart and with all wheel drive it will do very well hole to hole on the course. On the additional degree of right thrust, it worked out well with no mods needed. When I altered the holes originally, apparently I removed enough at that time.

Brian, if I had known of the 110 at the time it would be sitting on the nose now. The next time that I drop down some money for an engine it will be a gas model. Joe

Yesterday was indeed a very good day. Out to the field at 12:00 for a good two hours. With the aid of my SuperNova field charger, the batteries were topped off for another foray at 6:00 pm. Another enjoyable two hours. Weather was very nice early on and near perfect in the evening. The plane is about all that one could ask for as far as setup goes. Handles well with glitch free performance. Now what do I do? It seems for the past year and a half, all I did was build UCDs. Does this mean, with the cross of the fingers, that I may be able to just fly for the remainder of the season? Still working on bringing up my rates to where I was before, yet apprehensive that I may still get hit by the evil gods of electronics for having too much fun. Tonight at 4:00 pm is the kickoff of our training season. We still have three hold outs from last season and about five new members. The plane line up looks good, three Senior Kadets, two with Saito 72s. Sweet. The first Nexstar at the field, which I've been looking forward to. One of the new Sticks, with the 3D modified tail group, gotta fly that!! Last but not least, the ever popular Avistars. Should be very interesting. I'll get there early for some UCD fun. BTW, possibly a maiden of a rebuilt 80" Citabria. Interesting piece. Joe

Matt, considering how briefly we are here, family, in my opinion, is the only thing that matters. Bring the whole crew to the field, nothing like a little pressure when trying to land. Joe

Yes ..and the day before.. you sounded relaxed and laid back there Joe ..everything was fine, no real worries.... when i get like that, something always jumps out of the weeds and bites me on the bum, something i should have checked.. a loose clevis , servo plug, etc... surely you know what i mean ..Double dose of the purple ones tomorow..

Back early from training. Washout. Two guys showed due to gusty wind conditions. So I made a special trip to get batteries so Matt would stop hounding me. Squeezed off a couple of frames and they went dead. The package looked suspect as it was wrinkled and worn, but the date showed good till 2006, oh well. Got a pic of one of the SIG Kadet Seniors with the Saito 72. What a sweetheart, these planes should be illegal. You could actually land this plane with just throttle management. A couple clicks of throttle and you could just about walk along side it down the runway about a foot of the ground. Amazing craft. Another one proved its durability last season. Love the way it flies. Got some time on the UCD due to lack of students. One thing that I noticed is the wind has to be coming across pretty hard before it will start to crab on landing, unusual for how big the rudder is. Still puts a grin on my face. I have my timer set for 20 minutes and it seems like its beeping before you know it.

Dave, as long as its not you jumping out from behind the bush then I'll be OK.

Matt, I just spent 6 days with my wife in Mexico, no flying there. It was grueling, cold cervasa, free flowing pina coladas, tiny bikinis poolside, gourmet resturants every night. I can't think of it any more.........the horror. You would hate it there, but I did what I had to do. Joe
