OMG! that thing is a stump puller! Good luck on the maiden and very nice work, Joe. Congrats and can't wait to hear how she flies.
You crack me up! LOL !!! Good luck buddy.
I feel that this engine will just leave the plane on the stip, or it may come back without MonoKote.

I've never been one for smileys, but........................The search is over. I have found the 'more' that I have been looking for. And then some. Don't know where to begin. I expected a considerable difference, but was not prepared for this. Even at the now consertively rich settings for break in, it will hang at 1/4 throttle compared to the full throttle of the Saito. Unlimited vertical does not quite describe it. Blew it out for a couple seconds on a level pass and almost immediatly the prop went super sonic and started barking. Roger will know what I'm talking about as he runs gas. I need more than the 16/5. Can't wait for the new ones, and after today it looks like it will be a 17" prop. I could see picking up another 1000 RPM by the time its broken in. Richly set I was getting about 10,000 today. With a half gallon through it, I'm almost there. Here is the kicker, 4 degrees right thrust with the Saito and it still pulled left on an upline climb. Now the same 4 degrees with the YS and it uplines as straight as a pin. Could be the battery in the tail, don't know yet. What I do know is that with the extra weight and the battery more aft, it is a different plane. Inverted is the same as level flight, no inputs required. Ever have the hairs stand up on your arms? Joe

Thanks guys, pumped dosen't cover it. I like to think of myself as being conservetivly realistic and know that a lot of hype goes hand in hand with new toys, but I am floored with the results. Will try to get some weights and rpm readings. If the lightning stops, I'm going back out. Joe

Hey Joe, you know what I think a lot of guys would really appreciate? If you could take some time after you finish playing to detail what you have done to your UCD, including hardware, modifications such as the battery compartment, tail mod etc. This might help guys who are thinking about mounting a 110. I had a guy ask me about this very thing after he saw the thread. He mentioned there was so much fun talk going on that he just couldn't follow all the threads to find out the answers to his questions. If you included your pictures I think this would be really great as well. This way we all can refer back to this one thread with detailed information. It would be sort of a condensed version of the the forum in general, but more centered on the 110. Good idea? Have the time? Of course only after you finish playing for a while.

I would consider it an honor. Its the least I could do for all the help and support provided by my brothers in this thread. It will be a bit till I can deal with it. Got a lot of loose ends to tie up next week for work before I head east for a week. I'm going to provide some of the beach goers with a thrill. Should I wear a thong? Hope I don't get harpooned. July 3rd to July10th should do the trick. Joe

Had to wait 2 days for 4 mm carbon rod to get to me
Under-cart now has a3/8 doubler on the front half former, with three 4 mm carbon dowels,
Passing all the way through from the wing locating former.
Reinforced the front fire-well with carbon tows and epoxy.
New tank position is right on center line of carb, and level all the way back, room for a smoke tank now on top.
see pic

Xup, thats the ticket, well done. I often wondered about pulling the ramp and squaring it off for a small canister in there, providing that there was enough room for air flow. Joe

Cant decide on the motor, at the moment I have the New saito 91 to try out on it,
but this saito is for the sub 51/2lb Formula.
Have £500 burning a hole in my trousers,TY Mr Tax-man
I will see what is on offer at Cosford show, could get the Saito 100 for £200 at the show Prob.
Or I know where to get YS110 for £250 in the UK, but its the running cost of the fuel for them I hate.
If all else fails I will put a YS 140 L on it, lol
after all the reinforcing.

Xup - I think you are going to giving Joe a run for his money with all the technical additions. Nice Job!
LL- at least it wasn't a Park Flyer.........Looks pretty neat!
Joe, please on the thong thing. You are going to ruin your reputation.
Guys, I have you beat on this one issue. I am off to the beach tomorrow. Yippee! Going Grouper and Snapper fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and going to catch some rays and have a few cold ones. Got my new crankshaft for the 160. Oh yeah, in case I didn't tell you, it was bent. Thats 74.00 extra in crash damage. Arrgh! Oh well, all is fixed and the new shaft has been replaced and ready to mount the engine.
Will be thinking about you guys. Have a great week.

The two wider mounting holes on the Red engine mount(lower ones on UCD install) fit OEM blind nut positions.
You need to re-drill the fire-well for the other two(top mounting positions on UCD)
Dave, on the lower pic, those servos, they make a SD250 with metal gears well wicked servo,
on 6 volt the speed is .10, very, very fast, and torque is 4kg, and weigh only 24 grams, very good setup for
Planes that need twin servo setup on dual elevators.
