RE: GP Super Stearman
ffdg,
They should come with a fill connector. It is just a little nipple that you connect to the tires valve. You can blow enough air to fill them. I chose to leave them underinflated. It stops the bounce and even looks scale at the field. I just put the tires on the plane set it on my plane stand, inserted the nipple to fill the tires and instead of putting air in, I mashed the air out. It is real easy to do. Hope this helps.

RE: GP Super Stearman
your trying too hard! take it from me. don't worry about it. just pay attention to making sure the horn locations are the same on all ailerons. bottom left same as bottom right. top left same as top right. the connecting rod won't be in perfect parallel with the aft N strut but that is okay. I put double stick tape on the horns (after drilling a few holes) so I wouldn't keep drilling more holes to help with the alignment. worry about the bottom throw if anything and the top will happen. just make sure you don't go over center on the top horn (when it's deflected fully up or down)or you might get a hang up in flight. hope that helps. the plane flies well despite the flaws in the set up instructions.

RE: GP Super Stearman
Guys,
I'm trying to figure out the best position to mount a smoke pump. I was considering mounting at where the weight box is. Also trying to figure out the best position to place a tank for the smoke oil. Any photos or suggestions would be great
thanks.

Codimasta Hi, I have read about moving the cortrol horn out from 1 3/8 to 7/8 on the bottom but still I could not get the throws called for.Im going to get some ball links and swivel links and try them.Do you think this will help.
thanks Fred

I don't think it will help. believe me this has been discussed in detail in here somewhere. I tried most hints and finally decided that I would try it with the throws I got and found the plane to fly like a champ. I get only about 1/2" up and down on the bottom ailerons. of course the uppers will be exponential. you also only have so much threaded rod to work with before the clevis becomes unstable.

RE: GP Super Stearman
in short, the top ailerons will have more travel than the bottom depending on where you place the horns. ideally, like on the ultimates, the connecting rod should be on the trailing edge to get the same throw. but there isn't enough room or threaded rod to do that. so I just made sure the measurements were the same from left to right, put the two servo's on seperate channels so I could adjust the travel on the flaperon mix,and let it go at that.

Stuffer,I got the ailirons to go 7/8 down on the bottom today.I went back from the trialing edge 7/8 not 1 3/8,on the top control horn ,put the bottom ailiron in the bottom hole of the control horn and that did it.The bottom control horn came out to be 1/2 from the trialing edge.

Here is a thread that talks to this topic. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_17...tm.htm#1733757
Ralph Cunningham (RCIGN1) is an expert on Zenoah engines. He converted a G26 to electronic ignition for me and it is the best running engine I have. I think you will find that you are right on the limit of where you should run this engine and that a larger prop is needed to convert those rpm into thrust.

How much did this cost to do if you don't mind me asking.

RE: GP Super Stearman
hey anybody:
Reguarding MGA's muffler on his FPE. I have one of these engines and would like to know what muffler he is useing on his super stearman. It really cleans up the cowl nicely as opposed to the standard side mounted one. I left a message here asking him to reply, but apparently he is not watching this forum any more.
Anyone know what it is, or who makes a pitts style for the FPE?
Thanks Craig
