Good news...

I just got an e-mail confirmation from Max...

There indeed was a mistake in the CG stated...

The correct starting C.G. range is 4"-5"... you can move back from there based on your preference & skill level.

This should make it easy to balance for anyone... (unless they have an elusive BME 55)

The BME 55 weighs nothing, so it would be hard to balance.............

Yeah really Ronk...

We want a more detailed report... and video would be nice too eh?

Even a few snapshots of your install would be neat...

Been out of town on business, sorry. I will get together some photo's of my assembly and try to get a video on line. Tried some elevator snaps, it does them at around 35º and are very controllable. The maneuver it does very well is an elevator with 5º spoilers. I think I will be able to do a landing like this but not enough nerve yet[X(]. I ended up changing to 5" CG, 5 1/4" was a bit tail heavy. I moved the throttle servo foreword a bit more then I like but with PCM I don't think it will be a problem. The thing that is most impressive is the slow speed stability "rock solid".

Going out today and will get some photo's of the BME hovering, doing torque rolls, etc. I did find a problem with the "hard points" where the wing bolts are. Hard point, give me a break. It is a balsa block with a 1/2" dia. X 1/8" ply cap glued on. When out tighten the wing bolts it crushes the balsa under. Easy fix though, drill it out with a 1/2" flat point bit (not to deep) down to the wing tube then epoxy in a 1/2" hard wood dowel, problem solved . I will pick on any plane so other people will not have the same problems. All ARF's have some problems, at least the ones I've built. All and all though this plane is hard to beat.

Has anyone hovered this plane yet ? I was wondering if it would just hover in other words does the airlerons go far enough toward the fuse to be affective in a hover ???

Great to see people getting this plane. Keep the reports coming and please post pics and vids if possible.
In case I missed it somewhere what do you all think of the hardware that comes with it?
Very interested in this plane as my first gasser.
Thanks

Yes this airplane hovers very nice in fact it is more stable then I thought possible with a plane this size. Harriers and elevators are better then any plane I've seen in the 50cc class. I'm going to get in trouble for this statement but the 35% Carden's(Edge) at our field don't do them any better[&:].

The hardware is worthless[:'(]. The only thing worth using are the hinges.

Come on now Ronk...

The Wheels and axles are fine too...

The tail wheel is fine but heavy I think...

In fact the only thing I saw I probably won't use is the wheel collars...

Other than that there isn't much else is there? Misc. scres & hings...

I mean people should know what "hardware"copmes with theplane and what usable/what's not...

Ya, maybe a bit tough on the hardware because there is not much there. Please though, the wheels look like something you would get on a $2.00 toy and are to small for a grass runway. Some of the 4-40 socket heads do not fit a SAE hex(or metric) wrench. The tail wheel is to heavy to balance the airplane. I call them as I see them. But I do say again, the plane is very nice. The hardware an ARF or kit comes with is not a big deal to me. I have my preferences when it comes to hardware, rarely do I use the items that it comes with. BTW the axles are fine and the aluminum landing gear is extra nice.

Not biggie Ronk... I just wanted people to understand what hardware was bad and what needs to be replaced...

Didn't know the screws were goofy... I knew they were US standard but the sockets are odd sized huh?

I intend to use the tires as they are dense foam but extremely light weight... I would call them a plus not a negative...

I fly off grass and I don't think there's be any problems with the 3" tires...

of course I'm lucky in that we have a guy that keeps it like a golf fairway...

Too cool man... keep her going...

I'm sure you will, but just double check each "temp" mounted servo... sometimes we can get excited and ahead of ourselves and forget we only put 2 screws in the servos or no horn screw, forgot locktite on the gear bolts or wheel collar set screws, etc...

These are the little gremlins that come and cut your first day short or worse...

I am SOOOOO buried with work right now that I just can't get to mine for a while... so have at it and let's get some video huh guys?

Im gonna have my plane looked over at the field by the guys. Make sure its all there. Im gonan replace the servo mounting screws with hex heads. so on. Now the horn screws will be a must to check. I lost a 1/4 t-craft after the horn fell off. The plane made a turn to the left, never came back.

I'm using a FPE 3.2 in it. As for the some flight reports look at my earlier posts. This airplane flies very nice. The best 3D scale plane I've seen in this size. Landings are a breeze. I'm working on a video and more info but something always gets a higher priority. Work, home,WIFE,etc.
