Does that make yellow smoke come out of the stacks ? (smirk)

I don't know about that... but the nitro that's in it will not increase the engine performance

I fly in Japan too, Ivarb, I am curious, do you fly with Japanese guys or is this an "international" group, or just foreigners?

Come on up to Matsumoto and you can fly with us anytime. 150 X 60 meters of beautiful grass.

Just one rule though: common sense and respect. (is that two ?) All we've ever needed....

I'm the only non-Japanese in my group.

Everyone is really laid-back. Except for the incipient field Nazi. Thankfully he seems to be hanging out more at a different field.

We have a great place to fly here. It isn't a grass field, but it is a huge site of a former amusement park bordering the sea. That gives us paved runways and wide open spaces. Grass would be great though. The big problem with paved runways is planes take a lot to slow down.

If you ever make it down to Takamatsu let me know. I'll take you out to the field.

Here is an idea, why not just talk to the fellow and ask him why he made these rules and maybe you can work things out to get rid of the steenking rules. I think that would be the simple way to do it hey? The thing you shouldn't do is make it a bigger deal than it is good luck.

Actually the problem has pretty much been resolved. No one wanted the rules but him. We all ignored him. He has gone away. He shows up once in a while, but he is pretty much left isolated. It worked well.

I belong to a pretty lose club here in northern wisconsin but we do have a freq board. It just makes things easier. When we have someone in the club who likes to dictate rules we think are not needed we strait out let them know we are not looking for a new goverment. They have the choice to blend in or leave no hard feelings hopefully. If someone is doing something dangeris we all get on him and make sure it can be prevented in the future. You simply must protect yourself against other people making choices for you that you don't like and have the balls to let them know were you stand.

Default Amazing...

I have always been amazed at the attitude of .."Who are you to tell me"..If you are going to be around other people other then your self.....Then it becomes a matter of time before some rules are going to be necessary...WHY?...Because the people who Think they shouldn't be told what the appropriate behavior is, are the ones who are the most inconsiderate...So All of you who cant handle some guidelines..I challenge you to look closer at your lives..I would bet you have always had problems with being told what to do...That attitude is TOTAL ARROGANCE.. Its the attitude...Pathetic..

Yours truly,

Scott

WOW! I take it someone around here likes making rules and ensuring they are obeyed.

My thoughts on the matter. The world needs all kinds of people. Some like to tell others what to do, and some like to just have fun with their friends. I wouldn't go to a club with rules and tell them to drop them.

I remember a time, before the plague of litigation that is robbing us of more than just money. I wonder how many out there can remember how much more respect we used to show others.

Scott,

What the heck are you talking about? Have you read this entire thread? What kind of a rule is "no more than one airplane in the air at a time"? Or no low passes over the runway? Are you trying to tell me that you don't even question the authority of someone who comes along and starts posting rules as to how they decided what is better for the others.... by their own judgment? How about "no flying planes with hot pink on them"? It causes headaches to certain individuals.

I think what you are calling arrogance is really freedom and the ability to think for yourself. Rules for safety of all, concluded to existence by a majority is fair. But simply accepting rules that were created by a single person that make no sense is ridiculous. Don't tell me that you are some liberal sheep who is willing to go along with rules that satisfy the needs of one person just because they took the time to write it down.

Scott The arrogance lyes with the guy who took it upon himself to make rules without so much as a discussion with the other guys that fly there. I fly with wildthng at the same field and other than common sense safety rules and a frequency board everyone who flys there are friends or guests and any talk of rules is discussed with everyone. Where is the arrogance in that???

Default Rockmon???

Rockmon,
I think I was pretty clear in my post...The people with the "Who are you to tell me" Attitude...If it applies to that particular field so be it..I have know idea if it does or not..My statement is a general statement..It has been my experience that most people with the "Who are you to tell me" attitude are In general the people who need guidelines the most..because they lack common courtesy...Oh by the way I doubt the gentleman just showed up and made changes with out talking to any one..But if he did ask yourself why didn't they stop him at the start..Probably more to the story...

Debates are Great..

Capgains,
Well what i was talking about was pretty clear..I'm sorry your so defensive...This Country was built on...RESPONSIBLE FREEDOM......NOT FREE FOR ALL FREEDOM
or other words..(IRRESPONSIBLE FREEDOM) which seems to me to be the more popular type of freedom from the "who are you to tell me what to do crowd"...

I'm sorry,.... I cant be any more clear then that...

skerlock,

..It has been my experience that most people with the "Who are you to tell me" attitude are In general the people who need guidelines the most..
Perhaps you should read your own posts in light of your own words...

Oh by the way I doubt the gentleman just showed up and made changes with out talking to any one..
..Probably more to the story...
Is insinuating that Ivarb is a liar responsible or irresponsible freedom?

Yes, debates are great, aren't they.

Just my humble 2 cents...

Now what in the heck don't you get on this one???I stated I DOUBT ..and theres probably MORE to the story...

Again..did I say I was there..NO This is MY point of view Thats why I said theres Probably more to the story,(I didn't say Theres More to the story as a fact)..Do you get it ?/ or do i need to spell it out. OH i forgot i have been spelling it out. Now that Was A insinuation...

YOU WANT TO TAKE IT AS A LIRE.. go right ahead...but by your response (now please read this carefully) Is it possible I may have hit closer to the mark then your comfortable with? (now don't accuse me of stating Ivarb is a liar..I asked a question! Is it possible?

Thanks for your support..

Yes I do believe.. debates are great, aren't they.
