Dwight...
I mounted my fuel tank as per the instructions, and there was still room to squeeze a little foam in, around, and underneath. I've had zero fuel foaming problems, and I did silicone the tank to the firewall. When I glued a stick of balsa across the inside of the fuse to hold the tank in, I put a small piece of foam between it and the back of the tank. If you need a little foam at odd hours, Wal-mart sells a dog-bone shaped car wash sponge (foam) for .99. Works great!
BTW, your gonna love this plane!

PM Martin.....
Ok, I took your advise and picked up the Dubro fiberglass landing gear. I think it will work great after comparing it with the stocker. I also picked up some Dubro spring steel 5/32" x 2" axles, and wheel collars. I already had upgrade the tires due to losing one during a flight! The landing without one wheel was rather uneventful. I put it down REAL slow on our grass runway, and it landed great, just skidded to the right a little. Much better than what I thought the outcome would be! I'm glad we have the option of pavement, or grass at our airfield!
And in response to someelse question....
I'm using a 12/6 sport prop with my .61 FX.

WING INCIDENCE
DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THE INCIDENCE SHOULD BE ON THIS PLANE. ANYTHING ABOVE HALF THROTTLE THIS THING WILL CLIMB BIG TIME.
BTW KNOW THAT THE ALERIONS ARE GLUED HOW WOULD YOU CHECK THE INCIDENCE.
THANKS DENNIS

If that was a 4 Star 60 ARF, there should have been a piece of wood that you set on TOP of the wing, that indicates where to set the ailerons for neutral position. It has two angles on the bottom, and if you have it, you'll notice that the ailerons appear to be "up" slightly. If you don't have one, e-mail me your adrress and I'll either trace it and mail it to you, or fax it to you, and you can cut one out of a scrap piece of balsa.

Dennis did you have any problems seating the wing to the fuselage? When I put mine together the wing didn't fit well. I moved the hole for the wing dowel lower that must have had some effect on the wing incidence, and my 4*60 flies straight at all power settings with an OS .91 FX.

When I went to install my wing the gap at the back where the bolts go was in excess on an inch... I first tried to sand the fuselage wing saddle to conform to the wing, but then I realized that the bottom of the leading edge of the wing had a similar gap where the fuselage curves back down to fit with the bottom of the leading edge. So I lowered the dowel hole and every thing fit well.
I guess if you a good fit from the top of the wing saddle to the wing, the bottom of the leading edge and you didn't sand the wing saddle to make it fit, you should have the proper wing incidence.

My wing also did not fit into the saddle. The dowel holes had to be moved, as well as the very top of the fuselage had to be milled to make it fit right.
And it flies great. Flew last night, in fact. Another couple of weeks and we will be done with the "after work" flying for this season. It was too dark to fly at 7:00 last night!

2-56.
I felt this would be adequate.
It is a rocket with a Sport Jett .76 and there are no signs of instability on any of the control surfaces.
On a bigger plane with more control surface demands, I would use 4-40.

Carbon Fiber gear
Hey Guys,
Graphtech in Dayton ,Ohio makes Carbon Fiber main gears for the 4*40 and at my request now for the 120. I'll bet if someone asks them they will make a 60 size also. Great people to work with. Looks great, is strong ,less bounce and saves weight over the stock gear.

I just picked one up for mine this weekend for $13.35 at my LHS. One friend did a bucket job on his 60 and the gear still survived fine. He's using it on the replacement plane.
