Have the world models GS Zero a very nice flying plane and great on take off and landing. Great Planes are better quality but for the money they are pretty nice. They dont seem to come apart

Ya Tianci, what's wrong with 40 size planes
? I simply have no storage space for anything bigger. Not like you with rooms to spare in your house
.
I agree with Dragonheart. Easier to transport too.
BTW, got pics of the pilots you want to give away?
Good tips Forestroke. Thanks. The Super Sports 40S is really nice and easy. Ya, maybe TOO easy..hahaha. Maybe a little washout on the ailerons will take away some of the tip stall tendencies of the Cap.

My Feedback: (15)
hey dragonheart , that Extreme Pilot JOE is AOL , he is in high demand everwhere and on back order everywhere , if he gets back into the states he is in big trouble !!!!!!!!
Seriously , tower is out and has been out of JOE , and so are many hobby shopes , apparently he is the #1 pliot from the Extreme line .

Ok DragonHeart, I can see what you are talking about . Yet the paint problem is very minor I agree when you pay for something you should get perfection. But I also feel you should be building kits instead of ARFs and I say this because for all of the planes I have built except one they where all ARFs and not one of them where perfect.
Now I totally agree with this
I dont think I will ever fly a scale plane unless I fly someone elses
. Maybe Butch, a police officer I met who flies scale planes, will let me toss his around the sky one day
I mean after all........I let him fly my trainer one day

Whats Wrong with 40 Sized Planes lol.............. nearly all of mine are infact i sold my bigger ones to buy more smaller planes........ its just easier to transport.... fly just aswell (althou i allways overpower them ) and can fit 2 - 3 in my car at once .

Nothing wrong with 40 sized planes ... I just found out how fun bigger planes like the WM Super Chipmunk are!!! Size does matter, but then again why am I flying GWS planes?!??!!!

...and another thing. 40 size planes is already taxing the wallet (not yours, but mine). No need to guess what bigger planes will do [&o]

tIANci - my rambler 30 was a sheer joy to fly! that's why I'm building a new one!
but on another note... i'm looking to go bigger except my car just can't handle it!!!
all the unfinished kits you see behind the Rambler DOESN'T FIT!!! how frustrating is that? There's a KMP Hurricane at the top of the sheft.

RC - FIEND - will be putting a brand spanking new O.S.52 Fourstroke in it. These puppies are rare in Taiwan and I'm happy I got my hands on one! Should give it nice acrobatics.

Ok but why a four stroke , keep in mind im trying to learn as much as I can ......Far as I know the only advantage to using a four stroke is to save fuel...
but the plane you have is sport wouldn't you want the engine to fire every 2 strokes for more power? ....
Also what is it FX,AX,SX,LA, ETC ?

There are pros and cons for each.
4-stroke
Higher Torque - Faster Response Time and Swings Larger Props
Greater Fuel Efficiency
Quieter
Nicer Sound - Subjective
Prettier - Subjective
2-stroke
Greater Power to Weight Ratio
Cheaper
Less Maintenance
Smaller Package
General Uses
4-stroke
Pattern Planes - Precision Required
3D - Throttle Response Critical
Scale - Nice sound
2-stroke
Pylon Racing - HP More Important Than Torque
Trainers - Easier to Tune, Kinder to the Wallet
Smaller than 30 Class Planes - Small 4- strokes tend to be too heavy in respect to power
General Flying/Budget - 2 strokes can be half that of 4's
Scale - To fit smaller scale cowls that would otherwise require cutting
Hope that helps!
And the plane I have is classic sport... fits a nice classic sounding engine.

Here we are! I have finished my Rambler 30 and I can't wait to maiden it!!! I have started a small thread just in case someone wants to ask specifically about this plane... it is the SWEETEST ARF!!! Let's hope tomorrow is sunny and the O.S. gives me a good idle straight from the box!

RC Fiend ... go for the bigger one, the Rambler 45, Forestroke still believe that size does not matter ... I wonder why!!! Hahahaaaa ... forestroke, you have to see my GWS Toger Moth 3D, cute ... am almost done. I also got my SS40 wing crunched by the elevator door this morning!!!

Thanks for the words of encouragement! The maiden went off without a hitch. Although the new O.S. running in directions are scary, I followed them to the tee. The 52 settled in nicely after 2 tanks at their recommended lean out/ rich cycle. Still at full throttle the engine didn't sound all that healthy... still some running in to do I guess.
For some reason the plane needed a tremendous amount of right aileron trim to get it to fly hands off. Couple of clicks of down elevator as well. I think the 52 running the MAS Scimitar 11x7 was a little too much to handle so if the plane was flying level at 3/4 throttle, it would bank right if I throttled down. I needed to retrim for landing because it was banking right so hard. Looks like I will need to couple ailerons to throttle. This is the second time I've had to do this with this plane. The first Rambler 30 I had did the same thing. Then I was using a Y.S.63.
After trimming the plane flew okay... only problem is what is stated above. So rolls were fine and axial, inverted flight required just a touch of elevator. Loops were a problem because due to the problem stated above, it would always fall out of the loop on the downleg when I would cut the throttle.
But it is a beautiful plane. I plan to fly it often in the future!
tIANci - the reason I like the 30 is not only because of the size, but also because it does away with retracts. For this plane, I didn't want to bother with the added weight and complexity of retracts. I'll save those for my warbirds. Sorry to hear about the wing crunch. My prop ran into a parked gasser today... felt sooo bad!!! My friend blocked my vision momentarily as I taxied into the pits and before I knew it, the plane ahd parked itself into the rear left elevator of a very expensive looking plane. Naturally I offered to pay for repairs but still felt really bad! Anyway, hope the wing is repairable.

Forestroke - I did not install retracts for mine at all, just tied the pushrods together with thread and then added CA to it. I can imagine what you did ... oh man!!!

tIANci - yeah... the guy was super nice. I'm sure it was just my lucky (or unlucky if your considered I was in the position to begin with) day that the guy who owned the plane was actually very non-chalant about it.
Anyway, the plane was definitely top drawer. The elevator used dubro pin type hinges and was using a 3W75 gasser up front. Looked like a professional job. As it was it turns out he didn't build it. I think that may have something to do with his demeanor... but still I am very grateful he didn't try to kill me. I'll cost me $30 to $60 to have the same guy make him a new elevator. I'm glad I didn't damage the stab... it would've been much much more expensive!!!
Well... did I tell you the Corsair that everyone says doesn't fly flew? Bone stock... but for like 2 minutes and really couldn't climb... just flew about the height I threw it at!!! :-) I'm going to put a 11.1V lipo in there instead of the sad 7 cell 800mah nicad that I bought with the plane. Should finally do it justice! But is really is a nice looking plane...

I think that if I were going to invest in the corsair, it wouldn't be this plastic one! I'd rather get a nice corsair like the alfa models from hobby lobby. I think a brushless setup would be overkill! The plane was only 30 bucks! brushless setup would add at least $100. Anyway, I can't say I LOVE electrics...
As for the Rambler, I'm going to couple throttle to aileron as mentioned before. With no throttle I realized that I don't need any trim... so we'll see in about a month (won't be flying for a while) what happens!!!

Forestroke - why is that happening? Seems weird ... side thrust is really off perhaps? Hmmmm ... As for EP I am loving it now. I love my SS40 with the Rossi but now I am enjoying EP. Brushless is the way to go, get more flight time and more thrust, not about speed but thrust. Lovely uplines.

I'm not sure that it is sidethrust because that would mean the plane would want to yaw rather than roll, right? The only reason that it would want to roll is because the torque of the prop isn't being countered by the wings. Gliding under idle it doesn't have any bad habits. Trimmed for full power it also doesn't have any bad habits. It just that if it is trimmed for full power but engine is at idle, it banks left with verocity! I'm not talking about a slow roll, I'm talking about 10 degrees of right aileron. I thought it was just the Y.S.63 power that was doing it but now I just think the WS maybe too short or something. I mean, does too much left thrust make the plane bank left?
About brushless - my WM (<--- see I'm still back on this!) Clipped Wing Cub EP has a hobby lobby MP jet outrunner brushless (well kinda... it's Taiwan made but looks just like it!) and a Jeti brushless controller and really does fly with great authority. Unfortunately, the wing is warped with this ARF (I think it was their first batch) and I can't say that I love it!!! I will say, however, that I will buy another just because it's a wonderful looking plane. It flies off a locally made (LHS) 11.1 3S2P pack or Kokam 3S1P pack... both are wonderful! I don't have picks with the brushless setup but when I do I'll post them...

Forestroke - sounds great on the EP ... I am dying to buy a Super Chipmunk again and this time power it with my YS110 perhaps or a brand new Saito 100. Here is a cheap outrunner that I got, it can turn a GWS9x7 at 6,500 RPM on 3S but still a little over loading. I think it will be great on an 8x4 or 8x6. It was making a GWS COrsair do 3D!!!
