Piper - its those Japanese twins from the UK that keep me up, they wanna use the webcam and show me the most interesting things also they have a microphone too!!!

forestroke - I better not see it, cleared my hobby room out and now its full again!!! Tomorrow I will maiden my SS40. It looks nice. Very retro!!! As for cars I sold my Honda HRV and got a Toyota Unser ... its able to handle 90" planes.

Tell them you want to install some remote controls (R/C) and then we can all talk about it here.

piper chuck - i'm sure you know this but just in case... R/C stands for Radio Control. i'm not too picky, but some of the people here will rip our your heart and feed it to the monkeys if you say Remote Control!

tIANci - just started putting together my 2nd Rambler 30. I'm trying the windex method to put on some blue trim and i'm really nervous that it's not going to hold. the maiden of my 1st Rambler almost went terribly wrong when on of the big pieces of trim from one wing came loose and started flapping in the wind. i couldn't figure out why i had to apply almost full ailerons continuously to level the plane. luckily i was able to land it. i'm not sure how to test the integrity of the bind... any ideas? i'm considering putting some transparent tape on the leading edge of all the trim... post pics later...

I've been in the hobby for a pretty long time and know exactly what R/C stands for when talking about cars, boats, helis and planes. However, since Tianci is in Singapore and the "subject" of the control was in the UK, the word "remote" was more appropriate than "radio". Mingbai ma?

Dragon Heart showed a pic of the box but not what is inside, broken or the poor covering . Just wanted to see more of the model and problems he is talking about to get an understanding of what he feels is poor manufacturing.

RC- FIEND - that is an interesting request. but a good one. i just opened up my WM Rambler 30 ARF and I just absolutely love it! I was putting together a Funtana and have a KMP Hurricane, VQ P-51B, Kyosho Corsair, and Fliton Extra 330 NIB and opening up this WM ARF was great! The quality is tip top and all the difficult things are taken care of. I LOVE IT! if you are insinuating that this guy doesn't really know what he is talking about, I might buy in on that. So far, my WM nitro kits have been of excellent quality!

I beleive every word he his saying but if I wasn't going to buy this plane because of his words then that would make me ignorant. So if he has pics of what he is talking about then maybe I can see why I should stay away from World Models.

RC - Fiend - Woah... easy there, fella. I would say that if you read this thread, the criticism has been aimed toward the P40 alone and not WM altogether. I and numerous others have been extremely happy with World Models. As someone mentioned before, I wouldn't judge a company on one review of one product! Every one of my WM planes (nitro) have been excellent. The only questionable planes have been electrics when they first came out. Other than that all my WM planes (and I've had half a dozen) have been solidly built, easy to assembly and wonderful to fly.

forestroke, I feel you don't understand me [&o], I am particularly interested in what he is talking about as far as showing pics. He doesn't have to show one thing and I will be ok with that, but I fiqured since he had the pic of the box why not open it and demo. exactly what he is upset about.

Other than that I dont have a problem with something I haven't experienced . Now Kyosho is another story .

RC-FIEND - alrght... as long as your not going to be questioning the quality of the manufacturer of my current ARF-in-build. As for Kyosho, you've had good or bad... from the smile, it looks like it's "bad".

Kyosho may have just been bad luck choices, but the hyperfly ,and stratus are more work than it's worth. So I just stay away from the manufacturer.

Sorry for leaving the topic.

Hi there guys.

Has anyone seen the new Cap232-46R from WM? I started a new thread specifically for this plane. Link is http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/Worl...2549292/tm.htm

Looking forward to your input and comments. Thanks.

I have one WM ARF, the Super Stunts 60 with a Irvine 72. The plane flys fine but I had one big problem on assembly. The pipe for joining the wings was too large in diameter. When I installed it into one of the wing half it stuck. Trying to remove it caused a lot of the ribs to brake. I was going to be in the Livermore, CA area soon so I took it back to the distribution center. They had to bust into 3 or 4 models to find a pipe that would fit. They did fix me up O K but it was a real pain. I saw a young fellow in a LHS recently that bought a WM trainer. He had all kinds of problems putting it together as the instructions on these aren't for the first ARF that one builds.

Concho ... I've never had any real problems with WM and most people don't also, guess sometimes there will be a few lemons out there.

EZ - i thought you are dead set on the GP Matt Chapman!!!

Tianci,

I saw the vdo of the Castrol Airshow before the Matt Chapman. But at that time it wasn't out yet and GP announced the Matt first. I'm kinda glad the weight and $ of the Matt made me think again (thanks to you too). Now that WM has this green, red and white beauty I might consider. Just wanted to ask if anyone out there is lucky enough to buy one yet.

Well... I had the WM Cap in Breitling colors and that was absolutely a solid performer. I installed a 46FX sidewinder in the nose and never had any problems with it. The original Cap was not, and I doubt it currently is, a 3D machine. Although there is ample area and throw in the tail feathers, the ailerons are set up really for acrobatic flying. In that it is rock solid and true... it can do pattern flying with the best of them. I had a friend that was on his 4th. If he ever had any accidents, he would simply pick up another one... it was that good! I think he has 2 wings now :-) If the new 46R builds or flies like the original... it should be a great choice. Furthermore, the hardest part of the original was putting on those countless diamond stickers... now that the pattern is already painted on the plane, it should even be easier to build.

If you've never built a WM particularly something like the Cap, I recommend you give it a try... not just plane, but the also the company!

Forestroke,

Thanks for your input. Hope the 46R is built like your Breitling Cap. The Cap232 is reknown for its tip stall tendencies. Did you experience any at low speed?

I had the WM Super Sports 40S and thoroughly enjoyed it. No problem with WM but I think the instruction manual needs to be improved. And a better looking pilot will be nice too.

Hi Guys,

I see this post is still alive ............... i will try to take some pics as requested when i get home from work today........ ive started on it.... so i will see how it goes........ im not dissing Every World Models Plane just this P-40 i must have got a bad one...... when i stuck the wings together it looks like they mixed those up 2 as one is a different pattern and shade to the other which i didnt notice until i stuck them side by side []..........

Im sure it will fly fine....... im gonna give it a go but i personnaly think the Kyosho Warbirds are much better quailty and look far better its just this P-40 looks toyish.........

Thx for all the imput thou at least i know its just my luck and not WM

I agree that the pilot can be improved... I'm currently looking for a pilot for my Rambler.

I never really had any problems with tip stalling. I never find the need to slow the plane down that much for landing. The field I go to was long enough to give 40 size planes a generous roll out provided they touch down before the middle of the runway.

On the other hand, the Cap does snap if you give it too much elevator at any speed. If you've flown the super sports you can slowly transition to the Cap. The Cap isn't as forgiving but with a less aggressive set up (throws and CG) it shouldn't be a problem The biggest problem, I guess, is that your current plane is just too easy to fly!!!

Here is my Cap that I no longer have - mixed up the aileron servos, had them reversed... should've just come down right away instead of trying to save it :-(

Honestly looks fine by me... camo is suppose to be random... a bit of difference in shading may even be intended!

Now the coloring difference on the Kyosho F-4U is definitely NOT intended! I'm quite disappointed with that, actually... mine is still NIB!
