Im not much of an ARF guy... but I have been following this thread and I do like the looks of some of the H9 planes.
I might have to pick one up. I really would like to see one in the air if anyone gets a chance to upload a clip.

Well the horizontal tail is on it now. I think I should have sent it back. I am so pissed at the way this plane lines up. The distance from tip to tail is 3/8 longer on one side. I slid the wing over as much as I can in the rear. If I go any more the belly will stick out on one side. So I lined up the tail with the wing. But now the stab is 3/8 different to the top mounting block on the firewall from side to side. The workmanship and covering are awesome, but nothing lines up for ****. I have no idea what this thing is going to fly like. I hope it trims out.
With the elevater being a little off to match the wing I hope it still pulls straight in the vertical. I would think it might have a slight dog track, but I am not flying pattern with it anyway.
What do you guys think. Should I go in the back yard and cut it up into kindling. I am so frustrated with this plane it isn't even funny.[
] You guys are so lucky that you recieved a kit that went together straight. I have never seen a model kit or ARF that fits like this.[X(]

I have a video camera and a very generous and gracious camera...person. What I don't have is the time to edit, render and post it somewhere. I will do so as soon as I can, but for the most part the vids that are already out there are pretty good. There a few new ones in the Warbird section here that are worth watching.

I don't have the Hellcat but I do have the H9 .60 Mustang with a Saito 100. I have a 13X8 3 blade Master Airscrew prop on it and it performs very well.

I am just finishing the plane and have a few questions. How big a hole are most people cutting in the bottom of cowl for cooling, and doesn't the fuel tank seem to be quite high per normal modeling standards (flooded enegine)?
I think I will be digging out the Cline regulater that has been laying around for a few years.

I cut out just about double the cylnder head area and have no cooling issues. I also have some extra air flow over the muffler as it was running really hot. ST 90 2C 10% MA 14X6 max OAT so far 32C.
My engine is also at the inverted angle and its not bad for starting. Just go WOT for a few flips to clear it and then she starts right up.
Quick vid for what its worth. Wasn't set up quite right but gives the idea. I've since gotten braver, much braver

so far this has been a fun bird to fly. Right now I am using a 3 blade 14x7 prop on Satio 100. Has anyone else found a different prop 3 blade that has been working better with this setup

I would like to see you repost this in 6 months. If your engine is still running OK, then you will have set some kind of record. Your 14x7 3 blader just has to be working that engine very hard. In fact it is well up into the range for a 2 bldr. I'd be satisfied with a 13x8 3 bldr, except that it probably would look a bit small. I recommend that you phone Horizon's repair shop and discuss this with them.........Cheers

Old Dutch thanks for the insight. I had this Satio for over a year now and has not had any problems. Prior to going to the 3 blade prop, I was running a 15x6 with no problems. According to the satio book and sites I read if you go to a 3 blade prop, you should go down 1 dim and 1up on pitch. I believe most of the folks who has this plane with the Satio 100 is running the 14x7 and has yet to report any problems, But again thanks and I will keep a eye on it.

I have been running 14x7 three blade props for several years with no problems on my Saito 100. Can not believe the horror stories I hear on these threads. Makes me not want to read them any more. They just are not very reliable. We get a lot of bad information on some of these threads.
