Allright, good job Zippi. Looks like you had 7 Rascals out for the fun. Thats a good showing for a first time event.
The next gig with my Rascal will be on floats in three weeks at our yearly float fly. These Rascals sure do provide allot of entertainment for the dollar spent.

The Land O'Frost Rascal lives. Test flew it yesterday and didn't even have to re-trim. The only thing I did different was to change from the APC 18-6W prop to a Bambola birch plywood 18-8 prop. The climb rate is better with the 18-8 and it revs faster I suppose to the prop being much lighter. I lost some top end RPM but you could not tell from the performance. The pop however was bored too big for the Zenoah 26 so I had to make a sleeve to take up the room. The sleeve worked great and I am very impressed with the 15.00 prop.

Ron,
Sounds like that prop is making you a happy camper. I broke some of the hinges on the ailerons so I cut both ailerons off and drilled and installed 6 Robart hinges in each aileron. I test flew it again on Sunday. These Rascal 110's are like a cat. They have 9 lives. I wonder how soon it will be before Sig comes out with the new batch of Rascal 110's ???

I spoke with them on Friday and the next cargo container in October but they say they have no idea what is on it. I made a windshield out of a 3 liter soda bottle. Struts from K&N teardrop tubing and put the cowling back together with CA. I am on my 5th life so I have to be careful.
BTW, Thursday 8/27 the Land O'Frost videographer will be flying in from Chicago to tape the Rascal for some promotional stuff. I hope I don't provide him with any dramatic footage.

Zippi I love the Robart hinges. That is what I used on my Flaps on the Rascal and for all the surfaces on the AMR T50. I did the video tape with the Land O'Frost videographer last night. It went great. The owner is going to post it on Facebook and maybe YouTube. I will let you know when it is up.

The stock Rascal 110 Strut Screws are M3 x 20mm (It is in your manual, page 29).
I replaced mine with 6-32 x 3/4" Stn. Stl. and 6-32 T-Nuts.
From the reports here on RCU, indicates the stock stuff is too soft and will strip out.
It did not happen to me, but a little insurance never hurts.
I replaced them during the assembly.

I replaced the bolts on the fuselage after another Rascal at the club had a problem. I went to 6-62 but also added a piece of tubing to span the interior of the fuselage with 6-32 blind nuts silver soldered to the ends. So it is solid from one strut to the other removing the stress from the fuselage side plates.
On the wings I replaced them when I had the wing open to repair the web shear strips and adding fowler flaps. I installed 8-32 Stainless Steel Keenserts into hardwood blocks that I epoxied in place.
I used high grade stainless steel hardware.

We have one fellow in our club that lost his Rascal 110 last year during our Rascal 110 Fly-in and never got around to repairing it. Now it has been taken to another club member who is taking measurements and scaling it up to make a 50cc Rascal. This should be very interesting.
