RC LOL,,, I see now,, if you were to look at your pics the one that shows the wiring and servos,,, right where there should be a hatch lol looks like a perfectly cut hatch to fit in the lightning hole and even Ultra coted to match,,,, Now When I took a closer look just now[:-] I can see that is is just the area before the wing bolt and I'm looking at the top of the plane from the bottom, color is actually the cote showing through from the other side,, I just thought it was a spectacular cut hatch laying there,, LOL [sm=49_49.gif] I guess its time go see the optometrist like my wife has told me to do [&o] I just turned 46 this morning....

T_ _ _ Ted Your right I do need to get a Lazer and a 150,, the US 1000 is the biggest bird in my hanger, I think we should all have to own every single plane on the market at one time or another just so we can actually see what the best model is for each persons taste This is now my goal,, so to be successful in this endeavor I think I will need a better education and I'll have to live for about 4,000 years[]

Happy Birthday! If I woulda known I could have sent you an engine. Oh well, too late now.

As for the hatch, I'm working on it. When it's done, I'll take a picture just for you.

Yes Happy birthday Waldopepper Good luck with your Mustang Build. I'm thinking of building a F6f Hellcat Dont have any warbirds yet except a parkzone one, dont think it really counts. Oh i was wondering has anyone ever heard of water content in a prop before. I just got two graupner props. and in the notice on the box they came in. It statest that the water content must stay trapped in the material to preserve the strength. I have never heard of this before. Goes on to say that a lack of water content can be compensated buy boiling the prop or submerging it in water for a couple days. When i took them out of there boxes they didnt appear to be wet doesn this mean i need to give them a bath lol.

they never mentioned anything about water content when i when to Aeronutical School and the larger Aircraft that we worked on in the Hanger had Fiberglass Props, No were in the 6 week class on props was this mentioned eighther. Well just wondering if anyone has heard of this and if so how do i know if the prop needs water content very strange.

Thanks Link

Adam G,

Nothing but ice, ice, and more ice. We're not catching much under the ice either! How about you? Did you ever get that email I sent you?

First T***T flights of the year yesterday! Sunny, 50deg., light breeze, full tank of fuel, and three landings that made my kids say "great job dad". There isn't a better feeling than that. Man I love this plane.

Waldo Happy BDAY! Sorry didnt tell ya earlier but I have been busy today is my daughters first Birthday so i have been running like a chicken without his head. I am a little upset today is absolutely beautifull here going to be in the mid 40's and nothing but sunshine, just a little wind out of the north. GRRRRRRRRRRR wouldnt you know it. And I am sure it will be nasty tommorow with my luck. Well anyway I got all my birds ready for the air now the big 150 was on the balancer and she is about half inch nose heavy but I am going to fly it first to see how I like it there and maybe make a battery push later. I am going to have about 40 people here today so a flight with one of the smaller birds just might be in order for the party. Maybe a little pilon race with some of the balloons tied off. Well boys I am getting some chin music from the better half time for me to run.

Alright, here's the step-by step of my hatch.
Absolutely brilliant idea guys. Never would have been brave enough to try it without the encouragement. LOL!
It's amazing how easy this stuff really is if you just slow down a bit and do it...
I still may end up making another hatch since that one has a bit of a gap front and back. Hopefully though when I add the ultracote wrapped all the way around, it'll snug up.
Now I just need to do my Ultra Stick. I already got rid of a little bit of weight by putting in a AA pack instead of the Sub-C pack. Putting it in the back and removing the lead will be the icing on the cake! It's a bit nose heavy now anyway... even with the tail weight. I just didn't want to add any more.

Thew Awesome report !!!! Great to hear,,, Congrats,, and there is no better feeling in the world,, you are correct..

T_ _ _ Ted,, lol,,, well a very happy b-day to your lttle one's first official entry into the log book, by next year we'll expect her to have first solo flight in and Not even clowns compares to a plane flying around in the yard during the party,,, well unless of course the clown is flying a plane

Rc that looks great,, I can even really see it this time,, and well done I might add,, your absolutely right about its all pretty easy if you just step back and breathe for a second, all of a sudden ideas just start overflowing your brain on things you can do,,, thats what I love about wood projects,, you can glue and shape anything to exactly what you need.

I got a haircut this pack week from a young lady who was very chatty. After some time I asked her how old she was and she said 21. When I told her I was 32 she said whoa, you are old. Can you believe it. I was called an old man at 32. I guess that's the way it goes. First kids think you are old when you are in your twenties, then teen/21 year olds think you are old when you are in your 30's, and I can say Waldo you are an old man at my age. There, I feel much better.

was born in 1951. flew my first R/C plane at 11. glider with 2 channel radio. discovered girls shortly thereafter, and didn't make it back to R/C till 1988, but that was for a short period. sport didnt have buddy boxes yet and now computer simulators, so even though I tryed to learn how to fly powered planes, a few crashes and a bad temper forced me away from the sport. It wsn't till a large tax refund check allowed me the oppertunity to take a freind's advice, get the G3, build a plane, and well, here we are today. . . . going to go T<->Ting right now. . . . hope the rain goes away for you all. . .

Well I guess you could say I'm the older guy in our crowd but my wife will tell you I'm about 11 I knew about planes before I knew what a girl really was and therefore I made it known I am a Flyer.. You can take the plane away from the boy, but the boy always finds away to get another plane,,, [sm=idea.gif]one night I took a ream of paper [>:] and kept making paper airplanes of all designs and throwing them at my wife and littering the living room with over 250 paper planes for sure,,,[sm=49_49.gif] she let me go and buy a balsa wooden R/C one... LOL worked great !!!![sm=lol.gif] I highly recommend it[8D]

I flew a cessna 1 channel plane, rudder only, with a .049 for my 1st plane with a 3 channel futaba box and learned the crash and burn way,,, it never really went farther then about 40 feet,, [:@]my second plane I was able to use all 3 channels and had a .10 on her, I actually flew that plane for about a whole minute and a half, and then for about a year with hundreds of rebuilds,, Then I must have crashed over 30 different home made planes after that over the next 2 or 3 years,,, I didn't know if it was me or the the design of the planes, made it very hard to learn,,, [&:][&o] and cutting lawns took a looooonnnnnngg time to save for a bottle of glue and balsa for the repairs,,,,then I was given an Eagle 63,,, my 1st OS .40 the plane took off 1st flight and I landed it with no damage,,, I went flying every single day Rain, shine, wind or snow for about 3 months with that plane and it was my only plane for over 7 years,,,, yes of course many rebuildsI have never stopped flying from that day on and have been flying ever since.

DownT- thanks for the persistance,,, I picked up my OS 61FX yesterday
