All I can say is WOW By FAR the most fun flying I have ever done in my entire life... The Twist is the best plane I have ever flown in my entire life, landing and take offs are like a damn trainer if you want, OR you can take off straight to a vertical rolling climb and do harrier landings. on my MAIDEN flight. I hovered about 7 feet from the ground, did a harrier landing, did an inverted flat spin, and of course just FLIPPED THE TWIST around the sky and the dang Twist took it like a champ. This is an amazing plane and I'm gonna be smiling for a LONG time! Ready to go take it out again in a few hours here's some pictures, the last picture is after it's flight!

Awesome! I loved my Twist (until the wing separated from the fuse high up and far out and I couldn't find either one :-) ). When I had it, I haven't had any 3D skills yet. Iwonder what it would be like to fly one, now that I know the basic 3D moves. As you said, landings were so easy. I used to fly high up along the field to the end of the runway, then flipped it on it's back, pulled elevator up until it went straight down, cut the throttle down to idle, pulled up when it got closer to the ground and then did a perfect landing. Awesome!

Take a video and post it on Youtube! I'd love to see it.

Did you take it off again? When I try to play the youtube video, it says "the video you requested is not available". Maybe you edited it and uploaded it again? Please post the new link!

Okay! In the meantime, here's my Twist video. That was the maiden flight last year in April. That was my first 3D plane, so obviously I'm not doing any 3D stuff on this video (being the maiden flight of my first 3D plane, get it? :-) ). After the 2nd flight (not on the video) the wing separated (wing bolt broke). I fixed the fuse and then about 10 flights later the wing separated again, but the plane was never found again. It's resting in piece in the swamps. I'd love to fly it today!!

Must be something going around. By the last days of flying last Fall I'd lost both the T___T3D and the T___T60 (beyond repair for both of them this time, and I know you all know what I'm talking about [X(].

The T___T3D was kind of funny. I knew the wind was blowing and gusting a little too hard but I went up anyhow. On my 3rd attempt to bring it in, it was like a big ol'hand picked it up and just slapped it down ( a fly swatter comes to mind ). This was also in front of everyone at the final fly in of the year so of course I got a lot of sympathy and the typical ribbing. One of the guys at the other end of the flight line had brought a few planes to sell, and lo and and behold, he had a BRAND NEW T___3D in the box just waiting for me and it only cost me $70. [8D]

Just finished the new T___T60 last week and the T___T3D today as a matter of fact, so I'm good to go again.
Gregg, who did you buy it from?

Hi everyone! I lost my Twist yesterday. It just stopped responding to all control inputs after a level pass and went in at almost full throttle. Completely obliterated! The cause is unknown at this time. The engine somehow escaped unharmed, and all the electronics seem fine.

What a great flying, fun, and reliable airplane. I lost count how many flights I had with it, but it had to be over 200. I picked it up from the LHS for $100 a few years ago....its so sad to see that same LHS wants $180 for another.

Enjoy the pics of the carnage. It went in behind a barbed wire fence surrounding a water tower. One of younger members managed to squeeze in to recover the pieces. I was impressed at how the broken mount/firewall completely punctured and demolished the tank!

Hopefully this sacrifice to the airplane gods will keep them appeased for a while![sm=biggrin.gif]

Bill, it's shame that they bump the price 80% and aren't able to improve anything to "justify" it. Stupid bad economy!

Waldo, that's pretty impressive! I would have never thought that to be repairable! Unfortunately, I already gutted and trashed the remains of my Twist. It will be missed.

Now, I'm trying to find a good, relatively cheap aerobatic/3D performer for that OS .46 AX. Looking at profiles for the first time too, but everything is just too expensive for me at the moment, or out of stock. [:@]

The only "cheap" plane that I found when looking for 40-46 size 3D planes was the Modeltech Magic V2.0 at http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/123738.asp for $129. I didn't buy it and I don't know how good it is, but it is cheap and it's a good brand. I have 2 Modeltech planes (a 40 size stik and a 25 size P-51 pole racer) and they fly really well. But again, I don't know how good that particular plane is.

In terms of profile: I see them only for around $200 these days, at least the good ones. However, there is a cheap Chinese profile that I had and it flew really well. I gave it to a friend and he's been happy with it. I bought it on eBay for about $70 (shipped). There's this guy who sells them on eBay and when an auction is over, he always puts a new one on. Prop Recommendation

Hey Guys,

What are you using to hover a Saito .72 (15% nitro) on your T-T? I've been running an APC 13X6 but that's fast and sport plane. Seems like ground clearance prevents me going longer that 13". But also, the prices go up a lot at 14". So, I was thinking about 13X4 and perhaps I may need to EPA down the throttle. I'm guessing that the RPM's will be real high. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

P.S. I tried 20% nitro (Powermaster) but the cost/benefit wasn't good.

I have an OS .70 on mine and it likes the 13x4W apc prop . Here's a link to a video . [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5u8hsvOK3uY]clicky[/link]

I've got the Siato .72 on one of my planes, and after extensive research found that the 13x4 APC is the way to go.
It's only problem is that the T___T won't sit still on an asphalt runway even at the slowest of idle speeds....but it just is a dream to fly and hover with that prop. and quiet too.

Sure it will but it takes a "drag" braking system.

Take your wheel collars off and put a small length of fuel tubing on the axles to jam against the wheels and create some drag. Adjust to suit
