Check to see if there is a warp in the wing.
If you hold the wing out at arms length parallel to a line between your two shoulders, you can sight down the trailing edge and see if there is a warp. Follow the trailing edge line and the spar line. If there is a warp you will see more of one side of the wing than the other. Keep your head still and move just your eyes.
If you're not sure, go by the local field or seek the advice of a good builder. Take the fuselage with you as well.
A good builder can fix just about anything. So don't worry, all is not lost.
I bought a 1/4 scale Giles Where the original owner built the wing upside down. The person I bought it from did a beautiful job of repair, Then he glassed the center section. This plane has been through some of the most violent maneuvers you've ever seen
This thing flys so sweet. He took the time to make sure everything was perfect, and it shows! Pattern maneuvers are just awesome.
I'm sure yours will come out great too. Just be patient.
Best of luck,
Scott

What distances are your horns from the control surfaces? Du-Bro's Heavy Duty came out a bit closer to the aileron than I'd like - those 2" 8-32 bolts are a bit short.
Used a Sullivan Heavy Duty Pull-Pull horn on the rudder - what distances are you using (from the horn to the rudder)?

i think the stock gear is prety strong. i just dead sticked into a gooey muyddy field and the wheel sunk right in. the plane flipped hard, but no damage other than the rudder hinges popped loose. time for Robarts.........
i have one servo in the tail

I wonder if H9 is discontinuing these??
or perhaps they dropped the price to compete with the similarly-sized GP PW?

Scott,
I think the difference is the difference between the two designs, as you said. The Extra is just such a neutral flying plane. Lots of folks say Extras exhibit a bit of coupling in knife edge. Mine has so much power it takes hardly any rudder to knife forever, so I don't see any coupling. I have full 3D throws on my CAP and the CG is as per plans. My Extra, however, doesn't have those cool, long H9 horns like my cap so its just set up a bit tamer. Also, its a bit nose heavy. I think both planes are so good they could be made to do anything you want. I feel the chars. of my two plans were self determined. Still, the CAP's my baby. Ijust love the way it looks in a hover!

I was hoping you were going to say that!
I'm with you. The Cap is just a great looking plane.
With a little luck, I'll be able to fly some of the IMAC contests this year. I'd really like to fly this one over my 1/4 scale Giles. Gas is so much cheaper.
You may have canceled out the pitch coupling by being slightly nose heavy with the Extra. If you have any up elevator for trim that will stop the tuck to gear on knife edge. Like you said, the Extra really is a neutral flying plane. Doesn't take much mixing at all to really lock them in.
Too bad they don't look as cool as the Cap (just my very biased opinion
).
Thanks again. Happy flying!

Just got my Cap from my LHS and all I can say is AWESOME!
Comparing this to the GP Patty Wagstaff Extra 300S I have, there is no contest. The covering on my cap was absolutely flawless, not one wrinkle or bubble. The graphics were perfect. The cowling is not only very solid but matches the Ultra cote perfectly. Even the servo holes were cut out and trimmed better than I could do! Im surprised that this plane has not gotten the recognition that the GP extra has. I cant beleive how much better the fit and finish is on this airplane compared to my extra. If it flies half as good as it looks, it should be a keeper.

On the sheet it says to use 4 1/2" pro links-I found these to be too short and got 5" ones instead which worked out perfectly. These ailerons are HEAVY, so be sure to maximize your setup!!

Guys,
For those of you who have seen this plane fly, how would you compare it to the Dave Patrick Extra 330L. I guess now with the price drop, this plane ends up being around the same price as the Extra when you throw in all the hardware you have to buy for the Cap.
Also would you recommend a ZDZ 40 sportsman on this plane or should someone really go with a 50cc ? Please let me know, thanks.

I used the Rocket City heavy duty set-up so the clevis pivot-point is centered over the bevel, and the distance from the ail to the bottom of the clevis is as per instructions.

Has anybody used Radio South 1/4 scale CA pro-hinges. Im wondering how these would work on the Cap. I was going to use Robart 1/4 scale hinge-points but the airframe is already set up for CA tpe, and the instructions recommend them as well as be included in the kit. Any opinions or suggestions would be great. Thanks ................John

Hey guys, on the Fox 3.2-I didn't have to cut alot of the cowl ti get this pitts muffler in. Just trimmed the rounded off portion at the back and a little for the head and spark plug-this will apply to all Sachs type engines. I did have to cut and box the firewall to allow this combo. If I can figure out how to transfer pics-i'll post them.

Thanks for the info on the hinges. I decided to go with the robarts just cause I have them on hand. Im using hitec 5645 MG digitals with 160+ oz of torque at 6.0v. For the guys using the H9 pro links, do the lengths recommended in the instructions work? Also anyone flown with the Moki 2.1 yet? It looks like it will fit inside with room to spare.

On two flights I lost aileron connection! Once the arm fell off the servo, the second time the ball-link bolt broke/fell off...either way, the plane flew with the aileron flapping in the breeze....NO PROBLEM!
the plane had a bit of a 'different' feel when turning, but other than that it made no difference. And no, the aileron did not fall off - I used Radio South's Giant Scale Hinges in place of the kit's.
