I have mine ready to cover after six months of part time buiilding. Goldberg says that the CG is between 1 7/8 and 2 7/8 inches behind the leading edge of the bottom wing. What have you guys been using? Mine is currnetly at 2 1/2 inches but uncovered and unpainted. It should not change much with the paint and covering. Thanks for the input.

It is finally done. The first flight was in the beginning of March. What a plane. I did not need any trim for hands off flight!!! Purely luck I am sure. Here are the numbers:
Weight 9 pounds, TME smoke system. Pumped OS120III with Slimline smoke pitts muffler. Fuel and smoke tank on the CG. Hitec 945 on the ailerons and rudder. Hitec 225 for each elevator half. 6.0 volts for power. Rudder and elevator are pull-pull. CG is set at 2 inches from the leading edge. It could probably be moved back to about 3 inches. I covered it as a Finnish Ultimate tail number OH-XSF. Dark blue like the Bluehawk, but with a silver striping with red trim in the silver instead of the yellow. Bottom wing has the same silver and red.
I do not have a way to post pictures for you guys.

I Lost my purple dp 120 saturday. I had a total of 15 flights, The plane was the absolute best flying, best looking plane Ive owned. The saito 1.8 gave the machine unlimited vertical and flew very nice at 1/2 throttle. Man am I bummed. It turned out that the main fuel line was resting on the exhaust and was super heating the fuel. The plane was talking to me (leaning out) I should have listened to her.
The ironic thing is that I knew this and was ready to take her home and investigate the leaning engine. (kicking myself know). As it happens as I was getting ready to leave the field here at dusk and a man and his 10 year old son stops by and asks me of I was going to fly again... I saw the look in his sons eyes and couldn't refuse... what a fantastic last flight.... inverted flyby, hammerheads, a loop followed by a 4 pt roll and up into a a very high slow down snap. The purple scheme and leaning engine dint help at this time of day.
I recovered from the snap and was inverted... rolled the aircraft upright... loosing altitude, left bank. not enough airspeed and wham.
Engine is ok, radio gear ok, carbon gear ok, both wings trashed, fuse barely repairable. I loved this plane and will get another soon.
Lesson to be learned here is !"listen to your plane!"

Thats correct DP calls it Blue, but its definetly Purple with White Pearl on the turtle deck and top of the cowl.
IMO it is one of the nicest covering on the market. I am going to add a bit more Pearl to the bottom wing for orientation purposes.

Here's a couple pictures of my 25% ultimate. It is from Conachen aircraft. Thier web site is www.conachenaircraft.com. It has a 62 inch wingspan and is made of molded fiberglass. This is the nicest plane that I own. the quality of this plane is awsome. I did not build it but got itfor a steal from another member in my club. It was powered with a ST 3000 turning an 18x6 prop and the performance is great. I am changing to a brison 2.4 gas engine and can't wait to fly it once the engine change is done.

Your plane looks awsome. What kit is it and what engine do you have in it. I was going to use a DA50 in mine but it is about 1/2 inch too long to fit inside the cowl. The brison will fit in it nicely. I think that the brison will be enough power for it as the plane is pretty light. It is really well built and flies very nicely on the Super Tigre 3000 that was in it originally. I am not sure who built this particular plane but I got it for 400.00 ready to fly. All I had to do is add my receiver and it was ready. I have been wanting a gas plane so I thought that this one would be a good one for it. It is built to handle up to a 45cc engine. The designer of the kit told me that alot of people were using BME 44's in them. I chose the brison because a couple of guys that I fly with have them and like them alot. Hope that this is a good choice? Great picture talk to you later.

when i went looking about a year ago i could not find many ultimate for gas i found this one at http://www.bobflies.com/
its a 70.5" WS 77.75 lenght kit to build foam wing, turtle deck, rudder, and stab. its made for a 70-100Cc and i went the 100 route its power for days with a 100 on there. i am talkiing like 50-60 MPH up lines if you nail it. i fly it at 1/4 throttle for staight and level flying. i had to send my C & H in last week so its down right nw the sensor was going bad in there. a 70cc motor would still work great on this bird. now that are quite a few good ARF out there in the ultimate series. i think that was my last stick buld kit as if you wait long enough a manf. will buid the ARF u want. your bird looks great the 50CC is the motor popular motor and plane going right now.
